Complete agreement with you there. "A Series of Sneaks" is their most "indie-sounding" album, even though it was on a major label. "Gimme Fiction" is a lot more thumping; I saw them play it live at a free show, and it rawks. Don't miss "The Way We Get By" off "Kill the Moonlight"; you'll never get those handclaps out of your head. Britt Daniel's voice is one of the most appealing in music today.

Spoon is a heck of a band. They strike me as more of a rock band than an indie band, but whatever it is, their music is top notch. I discovered Spoon after reading an article about Beulah - one of my favorite bands - that listed Wilco, Beulah, and Spoon as the three greatest American bands. Not sure how many people would agree with this, but Spoon is definitely worth checking out.
