I really enjoyed their first four albums but the rest went downhill fast.

Somewhat of a guilty pleasure. Some of their tracks are disappointingly dull, and some of their tracks are bombastic, brilliant and catchy, some well above-average stadium rock.

Ugh!! Not the bottom of the barrel...these guys are buried underground somewhere below the barrel!! Lou Gramm is such a horribly annoying vocalist. Putrid ballads, and their impotent attemps at rocking are laughable. Want to be a real "jukebox hero"? Unplug the jukebox the next time you hear these schmucks come on. You'll be a hero in my book!

Came up with some memorable tunes just nothing earth shaking. You probably listen to them now primarily in the elevator.

Gave 'em a 3 for Mick Jones but I always thought they could have been a really good band if they'd had a decent lead singer. LOU GRAMM SUCKS!

Not as quite as execrable as their corporate rock contemporaries, but even 'hard rock' efforts like 'Hot blooded' have all the power of a gnat's f@rt. The ballads, like every rock ballad ever made -bar none - are overwrought t*rds of songs that gush forth with fake emotion.

Bore-igner. Though not as horrible as Journey or REO Speedwagon, they're not really different from the rest of the arena rock crowd.

best r and r voice ever. lou gramm's voice was flawlessly incredible with the range very few other singers had. everytime time you hear a foreigner tune on the radio, you notice everyone within earshod jams to it. super band with distinct sound!

The first couple of albums were decent hard rockers. Later in their career they became quite dreadful!

One of the true, great classic rock bands, these guys put out some great hits in the 70's - 80's. It's still great to hear their music played on classic rock radio stations all over the country.

Foreigner wasn't terrible, but the group just does not compare with the more talented and influential bands on this list. The group's 1977 self-titled debut is possibly their best, as it includes Feels Like the First Time, Cold As Ice, (the largely forgotten) Starrider, and Long, Long Way from Home. The sophomore effort Double Vision (1978) followed with the singles Hot Blooded, Blue Morning, Blue Day, and the title track. By the time of Foreigner's third and fourth full-length releases Head Games (1979) and 4 (1981), the band had obviously become predictable and vanilla, as evidenced by the title tracks, Dirty White Boy, Rev On The Red Line, Juke Box Hero, Waiting For A Girl Like You, and Urgent. The bottom line is that Foreigner is a generic arena rock band that one may consider a guilty pleasure best scratched with a compilation (eg Jukebox Heroes: The Foreigner Anthology (2000)).

Omfg. The guys above are wacked. Either they think Foreigner just did Power Ballads later on because they were ignorant of their earlier songs or they just think a band has to put out some garbage heavy metal yelling to be non-conformist. Foreigner's music ain't tailored to the radio and wtf kinda thing to say is that anyway? It makes no sense. Hot Blooded, Double Vision, Jukebox Hero, Head Games, Cold As Ice, Urgent + a lot more. Even if you explore all their albums and songs that aren't known you can't find a song that makes you say, Hey I can' stand that shit turn it off. All there songs are good. Lou Gramm's voice is excellent. 'Nuff said.

They had some catchy tunes, I'll admit. However, Foreigner's music was purposely crafted to be radio friendly and thus lacks heart. If they had used a different approach, and kept a more natural, jam session sound to these songs, they could have been a contender. As it is, they are a more talented version of Journey.

Claudia Schiffer's favourite band. That doesn't have much to do with anything but it's an interesting piece of trivia. She must be the only person alive who not only likes Foreigner, but tells other people about it. Anyone else would be deeply embarrassed by such an admission. They might be a guilty pleasure, but their oeuvre has not aged well at all.

Flat, noisy garbage for the high school crowd, circa 1975. No guts, no drive, nothing especially notable about this one, except it's bad.

Foreigner always sounded very real and genuine to me. You could tell they were singing to real people in their personal lives. An awesome band, with and awesome sound that could never be copied today. I loved those tight jeans too ! he he ;)
