I like mom and pop coffee shops better!

I'll drink it, of course, but provided almost any other coffeeshop option I'll skip Starbucks. To me most of the coffee tastes scalded, and it seems a little like this is to indirectly push people in the direction of the more expensive coffee drinks they offer over just providing a great straight up daily roast selection.

I know coffee, and these morons sell terrible coffee at a high price, tricking you into thinking it's actually good because it's so expensive.

I give it a 4.5 I don't even drink the coffee here, but their frappachinos are so good. I cant get enough of them. It is even better with a moist pumpkin loaf. I know I sound like a fatty. :)

Great coffee, but way over priced

Corporate gave me a $100 Starbucks card for some minor award. I'm not here to bash Starbucks. Only to say that on average I have had better regular coffee elsewhere at lower prices and have had better gourmet fixins elsewhere for a lot less. I am sure folks go there for the cache of it all. Now that my Bucky card is used up, I find that going to other coffee houses, especially at the airports, is just fine by me most times for far less cost.

They are consistent...consistently the worst coffee ever.

Although it is of course fashionable to dislike the ever-expanding green monster, I like them. It seems like coffee is better if you go in the morning -- I suspect that most places don't clean the equipment of bitter oils during the day.

They have some good blends but they are pricey. They do have wireless internet however and don't care if you hang out.

Ever notice how the only criticism people seem to have about Starbucks is that it's overpriced? Well, you get what you pay for. You can have some OK coffee for .99 cents, or you can get above average to stellar tasting coffee for a bit more. It's all in the quality; it's not like you're paying for the same coffee you can get anywhere else. Starbucks is one of my favorite brands of coffee, mainly because it is a strong cup of coffee, but they make it taste like candy. Though I'd probably even drink the stuff black too, or with little cream and sugar, I am just addicted to the frappicinos. And I agree, the drive thru's are the best!

I think the greatest invention of all time is the drive through Starbucks they just put in my my house. I am not a lazy person...but in the morning, I am soooo not gonna get out of my car to get a cup of coffee as bad as I may need it. The employees are so adorbaly cheerful that they are smiling at 7:00 am...it gives me something to be happy about too. My favorite thing ever is a Hazlenut Mocha. It tastes like Nutella...only liquid. But I really like my coffee...sweet to say the least. Their Vanilla Bean Frappaccinos are amazing for summertime. Packed with calories but it tastes like frosting. Once again: sugar high! I also love caramel apple cider from there on cold days. My ex boyfriend used to drink Venti Vanilla Lattes like it was going outta style...so men: if you like your coffee strong but a teensy bit sweet go for that and don't be embarrassed. :)

OMG!!! I love starbucks! Anyone who doesn't like Starbucks, its bc they cant afford it. They make commments about the pirce. Well all I have to say is get a better job, or just don't drink it. You dont have to go and on abou how much it cost. Go make your own damn coffee then. I love it because all you have to do is walk in and order. Your coffee is done in about 5 minutes at least. It is the perfect place to hang out, work on homework/things for work, or just to read. Starbucks Rules, and I dont know what I would do without it!!!

Should I ever feel motivated to pay $30.00 per gallon for coffee in a corporate environment, I'll just rush right over to Starbucks.

Starbucks is so much more than coffee. It has a great atmosphere, and good place to hang out, do work, or simply relax after a stressful day. The only place I will even buy coffee mugs and thermoses.

I was quite surprised that the Starbucks overall rating was quite low. May be, the coffee is not the best possible, but they created the athmosphere and style. This is the place, you want to come to read a paper, work on your laptop, or discuss important things.

Like McDonalds, Starbucks offers a consistent coffee experience from store to store.  The coffee itself is usually good, though sometimes the bolder brews are lacking in smoothness.  It's possible to have strong, flavorful coffee that isn't harsh - other shops manage to accomplish this.  And their variety is often lacking - some smaller shops may only have one non-decaf brew available at a given time.  Nevertheless, the coffee is never bad, never overcooked, and hence always good, even if it's not always great.
