This detergent did a pretty good job on stains but it didn't have a noticeable scent after the clothes were done washing and drying.It also faded my clothes alot faster than other detergents.I didn't have a problem with it dissolving like some people have but I always add my detergent first then let the washer fill atleast half way before I add my clothes.I guess it would still be ok for whites and light colored clothes that you don't have to worry about fading.I wouldn't recommend it for darks or brights at all unless you don't mind having faded clothes.

Surf Active Oxygen is great. It cleans the clothes easily and they smell good.

  This cleans well, but has a really strong odor and will fade the living daylights out of clothes.  When I used it on a colored wash load you would have thought I had added bleach they were so faded. 

Good choice for white washes if you do not mind the strong smell and it is very affordable, but other than that, not worth wasting the money just for how bad it fades colored clothes.

Surf might smell good but it DOES NOT DISSOLVE. I had to run my husband's jeans through clear water 3 times and finally we just got a wash cloth and manually dissolved the detergent before it would come off. I will never buy this product again. I would not even give it one star but the program would not let me leave the stars blank.

I have used Surf for the past six years or more. Most resently (last 4 boxes or so) I have had nothing but problems with the powder detergent. It does not dissolve in the wash, leaving white residue all over my clothes. I have had to go back to rewash and soak the clothes in water which causes more wear&tear on them and fades the color. Not to metion the time and money lost. This is why I would rank them as a 1(terrible). To get the word out there. I have contacted Surf to make them aware of this as well.

I really love the way this leaves my clothes smelling fresh and clean. I have used this brand for the past 6 years but the last 2 extra large boxes I have bought it has not been dissolving and leaves soap all over my clothes and I have to wash them 2 more times without adding detergent to get the soap out. What a waste of time, water and electricity. I will never buy again untill they improve it ot make it the way they used too.

My husband and 7 year old daughter have pretty bad allergies and surprisingly this detergent did not aggrevate them. Unfortunately! it gave me the itchies and I had to switch back to Purex and Arm & Hammer. Note: The clothes were clean and did smell fresh (not really purfumey, though). So, I gave this a 3.

Surf was my favorite, even though it was pricey. It is now unavailable in the U.S., so I've switched to All.

Just bought a box of surf powder. It smells great and cleans my clothes just as good as Arm and Hammer. I don't have to use as much of the surf as i do of the Arm and Hammer. Surf powder also suds up. Arm and Hammer doe's not. Surf has got my vote!!!
