The quality of the DVD is much better than the VCR, however I'm not ready to give up the VCR yet because I record a lot. They do have DVD recorders but they are a bit expensive. Maybe someday I'll get rid of the VCR and just record my shows on a DVD recorder. Now the DVD is good because of the picture and sound quality is more superior. The DVD is easier to navigate than the VCR tape. The extras on a DVD are an added plus.
