This guy is the most useless, worthless piece of human flesh to walk the earth. There is only one thing on his mind - reaquisition of power. He's done nothing but accuse our president of everything under the sun that's gone wrong. Columbia disaster - Bush's fault! Economic downturn of 2000 - Bush's fault! (despite the fact that he didn't take office until 2001. Remember Black Thursday? Clinton was president then.) Sept. 11 attacks - Bush's fault! I thought politicians were suppost to support their leaders during times of crisis. I guess Tom and his liberal left live by a different set of rules.

Everything that's bad about a politican you can find in Daschle. I envision him watching the Trade Center collapsing and thinking "This will hurt us in the next elections". I don't think this guy cares about anything but the next election.

Tom Daschle should be the majority leader. Trent Lott is ruining our country. I don't see who would vote for Republicans. They are all greedy. George Bush is really politicising the issue of Iraq. I mean, he tried to kill his daddy? Where did he get that? Tom D., you are the best thing that happened to this country since Lincoln!

His diversionary tactics are legendary. If I could bob and weave like that, I'd single-handedly revive the struggling American textile industry. Bereft of ideas, he is far from inspiring.

The current "Daschle Dictatorship" in the US Senate is the most cynical, partisan, self-serving ploy memorable. Cynical because it believes the US people can't see through his blocking of federal appointments and much-needed bills. Partisan because Daschle requires a 2/3 vote JUST AMONG SENATE DEMOCRATS to allow any legislation to a floor vote. Self-serving because Daschle plans to run for US Presidnet and it keeps his name and face on television. I suppose Daschle has decided that the American people have become socialists overnight. Get this 2-bit populist politician off the national stage. Surely even the Democrats can find someone better than this to run the US Senate.

I give this courageous, decent man a five-star rating because of his politics and also because he has chosen to go forward and continue living his life the way his constituents and the country would want him to. For someone who had anthrax aimed at him, I say what kind of sick human being would target him, Pataki and others like Daschle, who want what's best for this nation? Daschle is a man with a conscience, and a true patriot who believes in the inherent good of this nation.

Mr. Daschle. Isn't South Dakota a western state. You know. . . wide open spaces, freedom, independence and so on. Maybe the farmers put him in office I can't say, but whoever it was I'm sure a government handout was involved.Why is he so against George W. The answer is simple. . . our president is a Republican. You know the party that freed the slaves. Why wasn't Daschle so critical of Mr. Clinton and his good ol'e boy back woods political money grabbing tatics. Not to mention 55 dead people all tied to Mr Clinton some who were set to testify against him. Here again the answer is simple. . .Clinton was a Democrat. There's a pattern here and unfortunately Daschle and his partner in crime Gepharht are two peas in a pod. Make up lies and feed the media so the 2002 and 2004 elections sway back to our Democratic friends. It's sad.

The people of SD need to see that T. Daschle does not represent them. He repersents only himself and the special interests of those in the democratic party. He is the little Ted Kennedy of SD. We need to remove him from the honorable position that he has, because he has NO honor. He is out of touch with SD. Time to bring him back to earth, by throwing him out of Washington. Along with his clone Tim Johnson. Both deserve ratings in the negative numbers.

Let me paraphrase Senator Daschle. If most of us could keep enough money to buy a muffler, a few lucky souls might get a Lexus. So every American needs to send the IRS enough money to buy a muffler so that NOBODY can have a Lexus (except for Daschle and his buddies.) Does Senator Daschle think we're stupid or something?

Senator Daschle has changed totally since I voted for him in his first Senatorial election. He used to represent quite closely the views of the average South Dakotan, but since he's started sharing power with the upper echelons of the Democratic Party, he's changed most of his views 180 degrees. His pro gun-control votes, his pro-abortion votes, his willingness to defend the Clintons at every turn, have caused me to change my opinion of him. He also claims to have helped the farmers of South Dakota so much, and farm prices are at all time historic lows--farmers are surviving only because of government handouts which Senator Daschle proudly claims credit for. How much longer will the American taxpayer continue to subsidize farmers, and what will happen when they decide to quit? If Senator Daschle was truly on the side of agriculture, he'd stop taking campaign contributions from the huge multi-national corporations, and work to raise farm prices, so we here in South Dakota could participate in the economic boom times like the rest of the economy.
