too bad he's just caught in the right time, and right moment. he's just another victim of the rules in NHL. had the league wanted to prevent this from happening, simply they could have applied players to wear proteted helmet (such one like NFL helmet)

I've followed this guy's career for some time, and I like him as an athlete when he decides to put some effort in, but there's no getting away from the fact that he's something of a career headcase. The recent on ice mugging of Steve Moore is the worst incident he's been connected with, but he has a juvenile ungovernable temper which has manifested itself with radio reporters (he's had to be physically restrained from driving to one station to punch out a reporter who said his wife was hot), the public and other players. He's a player who barks all the time on the ice, but doesn't like getting it back much. My biggest problem with him has always been that he doesn't live up to his potential, primarily because he's lazy. In fact, he's so lazy, he couldn't be bothered to turn Steve Moore around to punch him in the front.

Bertuzzi is a big strong guy who plays a violent sport. He made a mistake in judgment, and ended up really hurting someone - by all accounts he feels terrible about it. Judging from the reaction of his teammates, this guy is not a jerk - regardless, he deserves every bit of punishment he gets.
