Enormous pitcher, huge and mean looking, most comparable to, say, Nolan Ryan in velocity. Slam dunk Hof'er with many great years for Seattle and Arizona, though he's also thrown for Montreal, Houston, and now the Yankees. Few in the game's history have approached him for speed, and what's incredible is he really didn't get going until he was 30 or so.

A brilliant pitcher and an ugly b@stard! Uses shear intimidation and an impressive arsenal of pitches to impose his will on the poor slobs who are called upon to face him. I'll never forget the All-Star Game when Larry Walker 'jokingly' turned around to bat righty aginst him. It was obvious that Walker wanted NO part of him in a nationally televised game were everybody could see his shame.

Johnson is good but not in the class of Koufax or Carlton! Not yet anyway!

Joke! Calton, Grove, Koufax all better in their primes. Just because you didn't watch them on tv doesn't mean they aren't better

AWESOME BEST OF ALL TIME EXCEPT FOR SANDY KOUFAX & NOLAN RYAN.

He is the best southpaw of all-time and Third all-around.

6'10 of pure ugly. John Kruk didn't even want to finish his at bat after Randy threw one behing him. If the bird he killed had a bat he wouldve struck it out too. He makes professionals look ridiculous every start. If hes on, he only needs two runs and its a win. Unfortunately Arizona rarely provided two runs.

After a season as dominant as he is having at age 40, Randy Johnson is indisputably the world's greatest left-hander to ever pitch the game. Despite playing with a minor-league level team this season, he has pitched a perfect game and struck out more batters than any left-handed pitcher in baseball history. What a machine!

What a joke! Move him down the list! Ridiculous.....

If i got in to mlb and I hade to face him on my first day.I would be veary scared of his fastball.
swangmaster8 05/20/2004
the fastest, the meanest, left hander out there. He just broke another record for oldest pitcher to throw a no hitter

The highest SO/9 of any pitcher, BY FAR! Coupled with the longetivity and great career W-L %, I feel that the Big Unit takes the prize in this category.

The model for Blow them Away Lefties this big sumbitch is so ugly I think he scares the ball over the plate. A terrifying fastball, a horrifying curve, and a mean streak to go with it.
