Even to age 20, it is a classic. I will say that though the Southern-accented crows (even one named Jim Crow) would give an indirect stereotype to blacks, they shouldn't be a deterrent to the movie since they're a minor part of it, but they were important in making the movie funny and to have Dumbo live happily ever after. (Depite that you can allude to the stork in the beginning as handsome compared to the crows, I like both of them and their singing!) Yes, it's sad, like Bambi and The Lion King, the parent goes away and the young one has to experience life all to his(er)self and facing adversity from his(er) own species, while having support from unlikely caretakers; notwithstanding, it overall has feeling to show that a movie that has a lot of sequences to make Dumbo sad can pep the storyline and make it memorable. I have to credit the animators, they drew the animals well.I do not know if this is something that PETA/American Humane Society would want to look into as the movie can show how circuses treat their animals, but I'm sure that they can have a heart for this movie. :)

Why the low rating this is one of Disney's Best. With excellent music like Casey Jr. and When I see an Elepahnt Fly, a sad and funny storyline and with hillarious crows this is an absolute favorite. If you don't like this movie you might as well be banned from wacthing movies.

Ever notice how much Disney uses the old separation anxiety hook in their films? The scene where little Dumbo is taken away from his mother can put me in tears to this day! Once you get past that you can see that it's a cute movie which deserves to be called a classic. (You guys are such cynics...I'll bet you were all crying your eyes out when you were 6...which, I believe, ahem, is within the target audience age range.)

The part where he gets liquored to the tits is pretty good, but the rest is just putrid.
