If we're talking the hard-partying, somewhat or largely irresponsible, always up for a good time type, it can be extremely appealing, particularly in the short term. If we're talking the accident waiting to happen, the pit bull on a broken leash, the short fused stick of dynamite, they're usually just too scary.

Going by the previous responses there seems to be a difference of opinion as to what constitutes a hellraiser. I don't think hellraiser is synonymous with convict or even with law breaker. Some people like to party hard and loud and like to stir things up. If that's the kind of person we're talking about then I can see where that would be a turn-on to some people.

How causing trouble and breaking the law is attractive to anyone, I will never know.

I've sure known a lot of women who are attracted to these. I know a guy who is doing 25 in Folsom Prison--let's just say, for hellraising with a previous girlfriend--who has a fan club of girls who want to be his lover and savior. I wish I understood it, I really do.

Party-hardy, as they said back in my heyday, the 1980s. This guy will keep you in stitches as you reel from booze-soaked party to party with him. Never a dull moment! And if anyone dares to criticize his hell-raising lifestyle, he'll hotly defend himself in a barroom brawl. Nothing like some broken bottles and the police to liven up a party!
