I ordered the 7 day plan based on their ads stating the food is 'fresh' and 'delicious'. My food was not fresh or delicious. Most had to be tossed. My problem was that their cutoff time for the next weeks order takes place before you have a chance to taste their food. My cutoff was at 8am on Thursday and I received my first order on Thursday afternoon. I tried the first meal that evening and was appalled with the quality. The vegetables were obviously frozen with a squishy texture. I sent an email that night requesting that my account and the next order to be canceled. I called first thing the next morning and was told that I could not cancel after the 'cutoff'. I talked to 3 different agents and was told the same thing. They were definitely rude and uncaring. When I asked how someone would know if they liked the food and wanted another weeks worth of the nasty stuff, I was told that I should have suspended the 2nd week in case I didn't like the food. I asked why they didn't post that recommendation on their website, and got no answer. I checked with the better business bureau and there were 321 complaints filed. I was the 322nd. With that number of complaints, I don't know why the BBB gives them an A+ rating. This is my experience with Ediets and would NOT recommend this program to anyone!!!!!

I'm giving the "RateItAll site five stars. I was seriously considering joining eDiets. Now, I won't. So, to all of you who took the time to describe your experiences with eDiets, I want to say thanks!

I am writing a review of ediets.com fresh meal delivery because I just had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. I signed up with ediets.com fresh meal delivery because I, like many people, am busy. Ediets appeared to have a lot of positive reviews and so I thought I'd try it out. I couldn't find any information about vegetarian options on any of the "free" pages, every link I clicked took me to "sign up." Generally, I would be wary but ediets had the best ratings with epicurious and other sites and so against my better judgment, I signed up. On the customize meals screen, there was no information on what was in the meals and so I couldn't tell which contained meat products. For example, how do I know if Asian stir fry is made with chicken broth or not? In addition, I had questions about sodium content since I'm watching my blood pressure. I became frustrated with the meal customization screen so I called customer service. It was 7p CDT, well before the listed 10p E/T cutoff for customer service. I was hung up on three times, I never reached an agent. I decided to cancel the account. I felt like $111 a week too expensive for the options and customer service. So I called again in the morning and reached an agent. First she was rude to me and then when I asked if my card would be refunded, she stated the first week was non-refundable. I repeated that I was a vegetarian and she said "Yeah, we don't do that," in a somewhat hostile tone. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She was rude again but transferred me, and then I was on hold but not really and spent some time overhearing the conversation between her and her supervisor. Following that, I finally was on hold with some hold music and then the supervisor came on. The supervisor was even more rude to me, said I should have read the sample plan first, which is three days worth of meals. She repeated that the first week was nonrefundable. I explained that I did not want 7 days of meals with unknown ingredients shipped to my house. She started off on some tangent about the FDA and being unable to accept returned shipments. I suggested that she refund my card to avoid this hassle and that she cancel the upcoming shipment. She said "No" and hung up on me. Please don't sign up with ediets.com. Save yourself from this.

The eDiets Corporate phone number is 954-360-9022 and you will want to ask for Ron Coporale. He's the big wig...Maybe by flooding his phone line, customer service might be improved.

Nothing works anymore. NOTHING. No diets (they all calculate with like 3000 calories!!!) + no support + no customer service + no way to journal your food = ripoff! They are losing hundreds of members a day now, maybe more, so make sure you know what you are buying. Get proof that these things work before you buy. Good luck.

At the moment I would give ediets.com no starts except that this site requires at least one star. I joined in Jan 2008 and for the first month it was fantastic. Now they have changed their website and nothing works. I have had the same menu for three weeks and I am unable to update my weight on the site. I have sent two emails with no answer and made three phone calls for which the call center promised me that they would have someone return my call. To date I have not received a call back. Unless ediets.com can get their act together they are going to lose their entire customer base.

When ediets started they were a solid 4 star diet information center. I joined with a friend and it was relatively cheap, since no one knew about them, and we lost a lot of weight. She even became an early spokesperson for them! But now, they have become another set of scam artists. Hidden fees, poor customer service and not enough guidance for beginners. I no longer recommend them to friends.

Joined 5 months ago. Very frustrated with the site. The site is loaded with pop ups and links that want you to sign up for additional services such as exercise plans, food products, exercise products, etc... Its hard to negotiate site and find what you have already paid for. I have signed up for another site that I am happy with. I attempted to close my account with ediets. The webiste suggests that you must call to cancel your membership. No one answered the 800# 3 days in a row. I called the toll number and got a message that says if you would like to change or cancel your membership, you must do it via email. I sent 2 emails. I received no response. The website mentions a 24 hour 7 day a week live chat option. There are a list of "commonly asked questions" with prewritten answers. There is no option to chat live. Very frustrating. I was forced to call my bank and pay a $9 fee to cancel the debit card I used to sign up for ediets. Apparently, that is the only way to stop them from continuing to withdrawl funds automatically.

I think ediets.com is a good idea for people who could use the guidance in diet and exercise. I'm disappointed by the policies of e-diets.com. I joined yesterday (9/26/05) in order to see if this particular site would benefit me. However, today (9/27/05) I came to the conclusion that I would be better off keeping a paper journal and joining Weight Watchers. The problem is that you cannot see in depth what the site has to offer until you join. What I am most disappointed in is that ediets.com does not even have a TRIAL membership for those people, who in the span of ONE WEEK or LESS, decide they do not want to continue. It's distressing to know that they would not even consider pro-rating a single month's fees for those people that cancel in ONE week or LESS. Hopefully in the future, this can be rectified for future people who decide, within ONE week or LESS, that they do NOT want to be a member. Maybe they should offer a trial membership or allow potential members to browse the full site. I realize that there is a clause in the contract that a $25 cancellation fee will be charged (which I learned today after contacting customer service). Budgeting tells me that $25 is definitely less than $33, based on a required monthly charge for 3 months. However, I realize I've only been a member less than 24 hours and a refund for pro-rated fees (without being subject to the cancellation fee), would be better customer service than saying "screw you, we'll still take your money" terms of agreement or not. Any lawyer knows that those are subject to negotiation. In the end, to be fair, I would recommend the site, but I would inform any of my friends and family exactly what their cancellation policy is and what they can expect to get... no hype.

I've tried to cancel in three ways: Email, live chat and toll free number. NO LUCK!!!

The small fee to join ediets seemed great till I got $18.00 worth of unsolicited vitimins in the mail, and charged to my charge from lifescripts. this was done through e diets, I cannot even swallow vitimins and would never order them. they are very sneaky and apparently dishonest. although it was lifescripts that did this, I have never been in contact with them and this had to happen in some sneaky way through ediets.. BEWARE..

Like Weight Watchers online but with more reference material and a monthly charge. I tried it for a short time but once again, with all the free nutritional information available all you really need to do is get a copy of the Diabetic Diet and start researching recipes, exercise routines, etc. If you want to diet online why not use your computer to get the same information for free.
