Just awful. I can not use it with the new Google Chrome browser. I keep getting an error message. It's too slow with Firefox and Internet Explorer.

SUCKS!!!! DON'T HAVE TIME TO SCROLL ALL MY MAIL IN THAT SMALL WINDOW THEY WENT AND RUINED A GREAT SYSTEM HOPE THEY DON'T DO THE SAME THING WITH MY WAY
ipomoea 08/31/2008
The new Excite Email is indeed an abomination. For those who are looking for a simple HTML interface that doesn't choke your Web browser, I highly recommend the "classic" version of Yahoo! Mail. (Hotmail, while better than the new Excite, is still pretty bloated with silly JavaScript features.)
maqe 08/27/2008
I rated it one but it means one under zero. Can someone tell me how to get my emails sent to excite.com to be forwarded to any other email address? Excite mail now is pure garbage. please send suggestions to mangelq2007@mail.com
Ryan00078 08/27/2008
Should be zero stars. There is nothing about this slow, buggy, stupid mess that suggests stars. Maybe a black hole, though. Or the Battle of the Network Stars, where their e-mail takes a really long time to load, and they have to click on it about 20 times to open it.
CrowHillian 08/27/2008
It used to be great and now it's just shite. Nuff said! minus 5 stars
kemolledog 08/24/2008
This was a good email site, with occasional temporary loss of emails...............................I loved my Boticelli wall paper; but this upgrade is about the most counter intuitive mess I've ever experienced on the web. Its like having to completely relearn the whole process, with very little prompting functions............I can't even find the compose button, and when searching the drop down questions on "composing" nothing is ever addressed. I have to agree with almost all the angry emails above that this is a completely UNSUCCESSFUL upgrade.
I would ask any advertiser to read the complaints above........maybe someone will listen.................

On August 23, 2008 at 5:59 pm Chad Stevens Said: This is to everyone out there that used excite for there mail service. Lets show them how bad they suck! By finding a new email service!! There are way better email services out there. I’m in the middle of changing to yahoo for my email service. But there are several more out there you can go to, a lot of people I talk to like hotmail.com and msn.com. I’m going to yahoo just because I already had a back up account just incase something like this happened. It takes a little bit to adjust but in the long run you will be much happier. Good luck to everone out there and make sure we send Excite to the DUMP where they belong… After all didn’t they just Dump all of us? Yes they did!! EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… EXCITE SUCKS NOW THEY MUST BURN IN HELL… So do you think these ass holes get the picture yet? By the way I gave one star only because this site made me, excite don't deserve any stars as far as I'm concerned.
hokospocus 08/22/2008
I WAS an Excite email user for many, many years even though their spam filter was never the best. Now, I find it totally unusable and had to move to more user friendly, efficient service. EXCITE IS TERRIBLE! Minus 10 stars if I could.
jondoe69 08/21/2008
Absolutely horrible! Stay away! I found an email contact form! Fill it out! Send it in! Maybe if we get enough emails to them they'll go back to the way it was! yea probably not. http://mailit.excite.com/mailit/maincsform.jsp
bhwendiboo 08/21/2008
What were you folks smoking when you came up with the convoluted mess that is the new excite email? I'm saddened, outraged, and depressed by the train wreck you've handed us. Gmail here I come.
qpwoeiruty 08/20/2008
Guys and Gals, You have finally lost me. I have been using excite for emailing for 10 years. $ subscriber to premium for the last several. There is just no excuse to how the new email app behaves. It is just too bad to use. I have been with excite for years and years. I was a stockholder when XCIT was taken by ATHM for a nice premium. I am not the raging stupidhead that hates double-clicking instead of right-clicking. I am an email user who cannot function with this release of crapware. Best regards and get those resumes ready,
kristaninesix 08/19/2008
Poor, poor design for the "updated" email. It is the slowest email I have ever been on and there is no way to check several of the hundreds of junk emails that you receive and delete them all at once! You have to click one at a time then click "delete" which then takes a few minutes just to reload. By the time you have deleted all of the junk emails, your entire day is gone! We are switching...excite sucks!! They don't even deserve a star...
foomanchu 08/15/2008
SUCKS ASS! Crashes Opera 9.5. Has tons of stream and other errors. Slow as hell on new core2 duo machines with tons of ram. Slow in Opera, slow in IE 6 and 7, slow in Firefox 2 and 3. Doesn't work at all on cell phone browsers. In all honesty, its the worst email client I've used in my whole life. I've been using Excite from the beginning, way way back. And now... I am completely disappointed in them.
alisondowling 08/14/2008
zero! i have been using excite mail for over ten years now...during the first upgrade about 7 years ago they managed to completely delete my account. The recent upgrade has been a disaster, slow loading and 80% of mail from contacts in my address book just never shows up! and don't get me started on attachments!
Steve4949 08/13/2008
I cannot even get into the site - after 11 years as a user!
homeyrn 08/12/2008
ZERO!!! Should be an option. Too many glitches to name- small read/view area, have to open EACH attached photo- then it kicks you out of system if you try to close one, will not stop scrolling down contact list, spam heaven, - OMG- could go on for DAYS! The programmers should be &(&%^$^% shot!
stanrb11 08/09/2008
If you nwant 50 plus spam messages a day with no filter available then try the new Excite E Mail-it is terrible and no way to even contact them-rate them a MINUS TEN.
Daisy586 08/05/2008
MY RATING IS ZERO! ZERO STARS! (even though that was not an option! I was forced to give them 1 star!) If it could be -100 stars, it would be! I thought I had it bad before the "new, improved" excite email took over...with all the bounce backs, blocking of my friends as spam & all...little did I know just HOW BAD it could get!!!! I've already begun switching everything to gmail. Excite = the toilet After I have successfully moved all of my email "stuff" to my other accounts, I'm going to write them a REAL letter to tell them how much they suck. Because, of course, I already have ONE question or comment in to the excite help service area...so I can't put in another question or comment online, only one per email address (!).....it gets more & more awful the more you think about it!
kc2209 08/04/2008
I can't even tell you how angry I am at these idiots for implementing this supposed "upgrade" to the Excite email system. I talked with Comcast (my internet provider), the IT department at my job and Macafee tech support and not one of them can figure out why my Excite inbox will not load. I can log in, see contacts and my calendar (by the way, which I could give a s*** about) BUT I have not been able to view my inbox for weeks now (it just stays stuck in loading)!!! Can you all say class action lawsuit!!!
jh303 08/03/2008
Should be rated ZERO stars. I have been a long time supporter adn cheerleader for Excite, but no longer. The had a stable working program and chucked it all for something that doesn't work. For three days I have been unable to access any email whatsoever, new or saved. Most of the time the email program won't even load. What a bunch of idiots. I agree with the person that says sue the jerks.
BBer 08/01/2008
The new excite email is absolutely horrible!!! Bring back the old excite email interface! I have not received any email for several hours on one account and several days on another! Seriously, someone should bring a lawsuit to these jemokes, shake em up a little bit for toying like this with people's lives.
Thundarr 07/27/2008
Should be a minus-1 after the Blue Tie...ahem..."upgrade". Been a loyal user for 7 years, but the new interface is stool.
tsalesman 07/27/2008
This upgrade has forced me to leave excite after 10 years. I am switching to yaoo! What is going on with excite first they discontinue the stock portfolio and now the email. This should be a study on how to drive customers away even if it is free!
djssssss 07/24/2008
I've been a long time user of Excite and have always been happy with the site until they changed the Email service. The new service looks nice but it is difficult to use, unreliable and very slow. I sincerely hope they change the email service back to the previous system.
gowest 07/22/2008
WeThePeople...look at the posting dates on those who like Excite email. All those postings were done before the switch to Blue Tie! I gave up and switched to gmail
Chilly 07/22/2008
ZERO, I am looking at g-mail like everyone else! I was a long time excite user. Take Blue Tie Down like Indy Mac!!! Let Excite's reputation suffer.
frogtown 07/22/2008
It's the worst e-mail experience I've had since I used a Mac Classic II with dial-up. I've been using excite's mail so long I can't even remember what I used before. But I won't be using it much longer if I can't opt out of this clunky slow poorly laid out cr@pp. It's nauseating. M.
WeThePeople 07/22/2008
Rate it NEEDS TO ADD A ZERO RATING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the bloody heck is wrong with the idiots posting it is better? What planet did they fly those idiots in from? This new interface is the worst thing I have ever experienced. I've been with Excite for ten years with NO problems until now. Six minutes to load login on DSL, page fault errors, extra useless crap wasting screen space that cannot be removed. a one inch window to read mail unless you want a pop-up window that is three by three instead. The people that did this are the idiots that did SmileyCentral BTW, does that help explain the mentallity here? Oh, I get it...they are BlueTie employess trying to level the plating field by posing as mortals.
Betty4now 07/21/2008
not one star, but 0 absolutely 0 Do not use this e-mail service. I had been a loyal excite e-mail person until they change hands and system in June/July 2008. I have lost all of my old saved mail. They do NOT answer any queries at all. If you send a message to their "we want your feedback" it comes back undeliverable
tempuser234234 07/20/2008
I concur with all others who would give Excite's new email interface the big 0 donut if I could. It used to be elegantly simple. Now it's a cluttered, bloated monstrosity. Excite: go back to the previous version, or bye-bye for me.
Dlyle 07/17/2008
Since there aren't any zero - I give the new Excite email interface a one. Used to work and be good - now they've gone to totaly unuseable.
noelleder 07/16/2008
There are only two differences between the new excite email and the U.S. Postal Service: the post office is quicker and I get less junk mail. Way to go, Excite.
dah000 07/15/2008
The new excite email absolutely stinks. I've been a long time excite user but I'm switching to something else. What were these idiots at Excite thinking? Too bad I can't give a rating of zero.
Dogger123456 07/15/2008
Excite email used to be great. Now it is slow and hard to use. The text is too small. The increased storage is about the only positive upgrade. I plan to change to gmail soon after 10 years of faithfulness to excite email.
LBalls777 07/07/2008
Often very slow--not reliable in a pinch.
chirofix 07/07/2008
New excite email sucks.... slow, harder to use.... Harder to edit oh and did I mention SLOW
nesher 02/04/2008
Average email provider with average capabilities. Stopped using them three years ago.
venn 11/10/2006
good communicators all round
VirileVagabond 07/12/2006
I use Excite Email as backup mail accounts, and there doesn't appear to be anything distinctive about it. The layout is intuitive and Excite gives you 125MB of space for free. My biggest complaint (contrary to the experience of the others posting comments) is the amount of spam, even for a relatively little used account and a high setting on the spam filter.
lonedoe 03/20/2006
I've had excite for about 7 years, it's always waorked great...no problems here!
pood 01/31/2006
I have been with Excite for years. But I think it is time to try somewhere else. This last month has been terrible. I use this site as my homepage and when it is not working, which has been alot lately, I cannot get on the internet until I go through my favorites. This is not good. This same thing was happening when they were bought out before.
dragonman 12/23/2004
I've tried Yahoo, Hotmail and Netscape and on all I've sometimes failed to receive emails or I would get my inbox loaded with spam but with excite I've never received any spam at all, plus you get 128mb which isn't bad. So far it's the best I've used, I haven't tried G Mail yet though.
Valvejob 11/18/2004
Easy to use and almost on par with Yahoo if it didn't have an exorbatant amount of pop ups. I block them but it is getting ridiculous.
hans74te 06/25/2004
It's not as good as Yahoo, but it is better than other e-mail services. You won't have spams in your mailbox.
landmark 05/14/2004
very underated, as good as yahoo if not better!.
