I tried out this unit for two weeks and had to send it back!...Unless you have indoor/outdoor carpet this vac doesnt get the job done. I have a plush carpet and picking up dog hair was terrible. Also the vacuum does not have a hose and attachments for above the floor cleaning.

I've been using an Electrolux canister for 15 years and I was hesitant to change. What was I waiting on? The Oreck is lightweight, more convenient and has some great attachments. Definitely worth the money. I paid less for this vacuum cleaner than I did for my Electrolux 15 years ago!

I really like my Oreck XL. I got VERY tired of lugging around my old vacuum cleaner (an upright Sanitaire), so I tried out the Oreck, which is advertised to be extremely light. I was worried that it couldn't be powerful and light at the same time, but I was wrong. It's very effective. It has two speeds, which is handy, and it's very easy to maneuver. I'll never go back to the standard, heavy models after having an Oreck. The only drawback is that now I have fewer excuses to not vacuum!
