One of my favorites, I catch reruns when I can.

If you're looking for sci-fi antics, then this is not the show for you. However, if you're looking for a television show where the back story (i.e., the interpersonal relationships between the two main characters - Sam & Al) is the glue that holds this series together... then Quantum Leap will be your cup of tea. The stories are what "make" this series. The sci-fi is just window dressing. Many 5 star episodes. In particular, the Pilot, The Leap Home, and the final episode which ties up all but one loose end, and the one loose end that remains is done intentionally.

It is nice to watch a show that isn't primarily centred around sex, violence, drugs, etc. True, it is possible to view it as being 'stale' due to the era it was produced, but i, for one, don't view it as being such. Who cares if it isn't 'proper' sci-fi? It's a humourous show that often, albeit light-heartedly, tackles some difficult issues whilst still remaining, unlike most shows on tv these days, to be suitable for family viewing.

I'm sure there are folks who dig this show but it's SO 80s now. Between the haircuts, the 80s plotlines and the special effects, it just hurts. Could be I'm just old now. Back when I was 7, I TOTALLY dug the small plastic models used in the original Trek. They worked with a 1968 imagination. Quantum Leap? Too much of a leap for me!
