I followed Patrick's story from the minute it hit Facebook. This book really brought it to life for me. Jeff's account of his experience with Patrick allowed us all to have an inside look at Patrick and everything that he had to endure. It was an incredible read that I couldn't put down. Jeff allowed us to experience his emotions right along with him. It felt as if I was with him every step of the way!

Started and finished my Kindle version of this book this weekend. LOVED the explanation of the tests that were administered to Patrick. What a wonderful story about a wonderful dog. Didn't think it was possible, but after I read this, I loved Patrick just a little bit more <3

I started reading this book last night and couldn't put it down!! Jeff's genuine love of animals (especially pitties!) is evident in this book. Patrick's story is truly unbelievable, and it was a breath of fresh air to hear of Patrick's potential in Jeff's own words. It's truly a shame what this poor little guy was put through, yet amazing that he has the will to survive. The world would be a much better place if there were more people with such a love of animals in it. Keep up the good work, Jeff!

I received my 3 books (I bought one for myself and two to share) yesterday and I read it last night. Finished it in about and hour and a half and loved every minute of it. Once I started I couldn't stop. I've been following the story of Patrick from the beginning and it was so heartwarming to read about the experience Jeff had with him. Yes, I smiled, cried, became angry but the book was so worthwhile to read. Thanks Jeff!

What an amazing book! Jeff doesn't sugar coat anything in this story. He tells it how it is! It makes you laugh, cry and smile. This book is really heart warming story of a pooch's second chance in life. Everyone deserves a second chance, right? I know I will never meet Patrick, but after reading this, I feel as if I've met him. Jeff's book really paints the picture for his readers. We get to know Patrick on a deeper level. It also shows how compassionate Jeff is towards animals, especially with this beautiful breed.

I received One Hour with Patrick on a Tuesday morning and I finished it Tuesday evening. It was fantastic once I picked it up I had a hard time putting it down. It was very well written and it was nice to read the truth about how sweet Patrick really is. I recommend it to anyone who has an interest in what Patrick has been through.

I sat up one night recently reading Jeff's book and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It is so well written, the story is interesting, and Jeff's warm and caring personality, humor and passion for animals shines through the book like a beacon! Jeff is a shining star in the world of rescue and his heart is in it for the right reasons and that's what makes him a friend to so many people and so many animals. Right on Jeff!

Jeff Coltenback.... in three-ish words.... Resourceful, Professional and has a HUGE heart! This book was a window into what it's like truly making a difference - A true story, that has a happy ending. I felt like I was with Jeff the entire time, feeling his feelings, understanding his thoughts, and laughing at his goofy humor - I trained with Jeff, studying for my certificate as an Animal Behaviorist/trainer, and got to know how kindhearted he truly is. I know if I ever needed help with a pit-bull situation, or any dog for that matter ... he would reach out and help, one way or another. It's nice to know someone you can count on 100% when it comes to trying to save an animal. - Thank goodness he was there for Patrick. Thank you Jeff! - for being such an inspiration! Tray

YAY! I got the book today. I've read it. Of course being "velcroed" to Patrick's Story since the beginning I ran the gamut of emotions all over again. Thank you Jeff for your words in this form. Simple truth, simply put, and a most needed message. They will make a difference...through us!

Since I am the author, I only with to mention my two hopes in writing this book. First is that I pray that Patrick gets a comfy couch of his own for the rest of his life with people he loves. And, second, I hope this book motivates readers to help all the Patricks that are still out there waiting to be saved...

One Hour with Patrick is written so that you, the reader, can hear Jeff tell his story. It makes you feel like you are sitting next to Jeff just listening to him speak. It made me laugh, It made me cry and It gave me HOPE. After reading I thought This is why things happen... for a reason. I believe everyone should read it... AWESOME!

I don't like to read books, but as soon as my copy arrived, I found myself doing nothing but reading. Jeff's background and experience sets the tone, and sharing his personal experience with the world that he had with Patrick was overwhelming. Not only did I feel like I was with Jeff throughout his journey, but how I felt as if I actually met Patrick. I cried, I laughed, I cried again, and I laughed again. Patrick has already inspired me to step up and help. Jeff's book wishes I had more hours in the day to do more. As I stated, I do not read books; I can count on one hand how many I have read in my life. Not only did I read this as soon as I received it, but I read it again in the same day and plan to re-read it again and again. Thank you Jeff for all you do !!!

I couldn't put it down! An amazing perspective of what Jeff does and why he does it. It is our responsibility as humans to be the spokespeople for the animals we love.

The author's "assesment" of Patrick was so above and beyond so loving and dedicated to this breed!!!This is a must read for anyone who loves dogs, for anyone who loves animals. For anyone who has had a family member involved with addiction. Jeff's love for dogs has saved him. And Patrick's love for people has saved him. This book needs to be in every rescue and every shelter in the world.

What a beautifully written book! It is truly moving, eye opening & inspirational. I received my book and once I opened it I could not put it down. A big thank you to the author Jeff Coltenback for opening my eyes to rescue. I plan on contacting my local shelter or rescue to inquire about possibly fostering a dog. I'm hoping to see more books from this author. This book has truly moved me!!

when i finished reading this book I looked at my sister and the first words that came to mind was WOW!! And HOLY HOLY!! This book is powerful, the BEST AND BIGGEST LITTLE BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!! It is amazing and inspiring... I had many tears, not the kind that you wipe away but the kind that come right from your soul... wow... More people need to read it and be aware that humans are NOT the only species that God loves... Detail specific, getting to the point. Jeff has a knack with applying a simple words or phrases and making you feel his excitement, frustration, his angrer or saddness.. Will there be a second book? God bless, Ang ontario, canada

Jeff writes this story in his own words. It has not been dressed up or made to be a literary masterpiece. It is a true and honest story about a very badly treated dog who was brought back from the brink of death by a good samaritan. One can feel the heartfelt honesty. Jeff has been involved in the Patrick story since it broke through the news media and became viral back in March. When he was asked to do the evaluation on the dog, it is obvious in the book that he was very moved to be able to do so. Jeff has had his trials in life, and speaks of them without holding back. I feel he views his connection with Patrick as an opportunity to tell the story of a maligned breed of dog to countless people, thereby giving the dogs a second chance in life just like he got so many years ago. You will feel the raw emotion at times, and if the story doesn't cause you to think seriously about pit bulls and their undeserved reputation, you may be missing an important human quality in your own ... I thoroughly enjoyed reading one hour with PATRICK. I was 'living' the book through Jeff's words. As he approached the meeting with Patrick, I got anxious as well! I could picture Patrick going through each test; could see his face. Very inspiring reading. Also enjoyed the bits of humor, especially about the 'shelter peoples' lawyer. Shame on his hygiene!! haha Seriously, the book is much needed and my hope is that many people read this. Was a good read. My only complaint is....it was just too darn short! GOOD JOB!!!!!
