I flew KLM 4 years ago. Truly, I've never been satisfied with an airline since.

KLM was so comfortable to fly on! It was my first time flying and the staff was helpful and friendly. There were TV's in the seats with more than enough movies to last through my whole flight. The seats were comfortable and every time I fly I miss the experience I had with them. They may have changed since then.

The only problem I had was when I was returning to the states, they took me aside and asked really weird questions since I had been to Egypt. The guy kept insisting that I got married because I had henna on my hands... odd.

They're not stingy with the cafeteria food and the booze.

I recently flew KLM to the Nethelands, and it was a mixed bag.  The flight out was delayed (6 hours!), but they made it up to us with $250 flight vouchers (which they had waiting for us in Amsterdam when we got off the plane).

The service was consistently good, and the food was OK.  For one of the meals they served soup, which is an odd choice for an airplane meal.

Finally, the reason I can't give KLM a higher score is because of how little legroom there is.  They pack them in on cross Atlantic flights tighter than anything I have ever seen before.  The tall guys on the flight were forced to sit with our legs out in the aisle, or locked straight going up in front of the seat ahead of us.  If the person in front puts their seat back, it's lights out.

Horrible! My flight was delayed, I missed a connection and an onward flight. Was made to pay additional fees with the onward airline due to the delay. KLM refused to reimburse the expenses because "its conditions of sale also specifically exclude any liability for damages suffered by passengers because of delay in a flight". What a bunch of crap. Oh yeah, the ground staff were some of the most unhelpful, unfriendly people I have ever encountered. Their customer service basically boiled down to "here's a 5 minute phone card - you sort out your own problems".

Sad, once great airline has really gone down the hill lately. Used to be one of my favourites. Hope it gets better.

KLM is great! Their planes look neat and the blue/white colors give a very safe feeling. Their food is good for airplane food and the flight attendants are efficient and friendly. I love Amsterdam airport Schiphol, it is much better than Heathrow. A pitty that they put you in a Northwest plane as soon as you arrive at an American hub.

I've flown a couple of times with KLM and have never had a bad erxperience. The last time, I showed up at Miami for a flight to Amsterdam only 55 minutes (3hours rec.) before departure. I had an economy ticket that was booked on another date and they still let me board the plain. Too bad they changed their coke to pepsi!

This is the best airline in the world. Period. The staff is incredibly friendly. The food is excellent... for airline food. And when we got down in Amsterdam I didn't even know we had landed. Worth every penny you pay.
