I smelled roadkill once, it's not pretty.

that can get nasty if let to rot ,pretty bad. a few years ago a squirrel got ran over near our house in the summer.I do not no why one of us neighbors did not just pick it off the road and discared the squirrel,usually we did. but for some reason this one remained in the road. it got pretty nasty. do not wish to experience again.for now on we make sure it does not happen.I think we buried the last one in our yard. poor little thing.

Now that is the worst thing you can smell, in FLORIDA you can see all kinds of roadkill from possum, to deer.
