Wow, i have had a nasty sore throat and cough since they phased in the new nasty blue Camel lights. I haven't changed anything else in my lifestyle recently. I don't notice much difference in the taste/flavor but i can't quit coughing and i know it's not a cold. Do i have to try to switch brands after 20 years? It never occurred to me that it could be related to the new "premium" blend.

I've been a long time smoker of Camel light and the new ones are awful! That taste like cheap discount cigarettes. I broke down and bought a pack of Parlaiments last night. I think we should all send them an e-mail and complain to the company. I've looked into it and it looks like I've got to start an account with their web site to even send them anything. I think I'm gonna have to do it. Several of my friends are already contacting the company. If there is enough outcry maybe they will come to their senses.

I've got pretty much the same story. Look, I can understand maybe for a split second them thinking "well, it's higher quality tobacco, what's not to like?" Ummm...they taste DIFFERENT! As far as Camel Lights smokers go, DIFFERENT = CRAP. Surprisingly enough, most of us CL smokers buy them cause we like the taste. This is one instance where Mike Love was actually right: "Don't F with the formula!" Today I bought 2 pack of Marb Lights. At least their crap taste has a bit of nostalgia for me...no more RJR!

I've been smoking camel lights for 25 years and the new ones have less tobacco(look down by the filter there is an buffer so less smoke/morefilter). They smell and taste like a bidis. I guess I'll be quiting. Good job rjr!

I'm thinking something like this must have happened: some lawyers got a hold of the secrect blend ingredients, discovered that there are some highly illegal and dangerous contents, told Camel to change their formula or they would blow the whistle on them. Why in the hell would you change something if it isn't broken? I hate the blue camel, I can live with the packaging, although camel filters have better colors than the lights, but i feel sick as if i'm smoking a menthol cigarette gone horribly wrong. Someone should stand up to this and organize some media attention like they did for New Coke. The Shell by my place still hasn't run out of old school camel lights and I request them and they looked at my funny until others began complaining too.

Remember how quickly New Coke got dumped because so many faithful Classic Coke drinkers complained? Same situation here? I've smoked Camel Lights for years, and the new packaging looks like crap, and the new tobacco blend tastes even worse. I've talked to so many 7-11 store owners and Camel smokers, and not one of us like the change. I'd rather quit than shell out the bucks for this monumental terd. Retards in marketing really bonered here.

I too called up camel and they explained to me it is a dif tobbaco.Tops of the stalks and more premium.I explained to them it does not matter it taste like ass.Reminds me of the special lights or turkish royals.Both I hate.I am now a Marlboro Reds smoker.THey were always my second choice if for some reason I could not buy Camel LIghts....Please Camel I beg you to get your head out of your ass and please switch it back.....I have no plans to quit smoking..LOL

I have to say, that I just called, RJR, they said they will no longer make the old camel lights, I told them that I will no longer buy camel lights, period, they said well send you coupons to try some of our other brands, I said why, I think they all leave a bad after taste in my mouth, and they make my throat sore, (something you see over and over on forums online so I know its not all in my head) So thanks to some brilliant marketing not to mention the research and development team must be smoking crack, I am no longer buying camel lights,

Um, I was hoping I got some special kind of camel lights on accident because of the weird box, but are these the only camel lights now? They taste a lot different and weird. I've been smoking camel lights for 15 years this sucks if it's true.

You would think the brain trust at RJR would have taken a lesson from the "NEW COKE" disaster but nope, some MBA whiz kid decided to screw with another American icon. I've smoked Camel Lights for at least 25 years and this imposter in the new blue pack is a farce. The only decision I have to make is to find another cigarette or just quit altogether. I hope the self important jerk that thought this one up gets his butt fired!

They are horrible. I am allergic to menthol and they have menthol. They give me stomach aches and headaches. I have been smoking these since I was 14 years old and sadly will have to find a new brand.

I have smoked camel lights for 16 years and am sad of the loss of my old friend. I will no longer buy camel lights. The new cigarette is not smooth it takes like the old smokes that have been opened for a month and have dried out, and they give you a headache and burn your throat. The look is silly and looks like a generic brand with a blue stripe and blue camel it also looks like it was made for a kid. The old look was classy with the gold strip and brown natural colored camel. Why ruin the classic look? Too bad camel lost touch with its loyal customers and doesn't care about our business. I am attempting to quit and am currently smoking marlboro mediums, marlboro 100's and american spirits.

Remember the Burger King commercial where they tell the people that they don't make the Whopper anymore? People were pretty upset huh? Well it's just like Camel changing their Lights. After nearly a century of sales and enjoyment by loads of customers, they just decide, "Ah what the heck, lets mix it up a bit". WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU RJR! We would all be a little confused if Burger King decided not to make the Whopper anymore, or if they decided to turn it into a chicken sandwich. And were all a little confused with you now. I'm proud to say I WAS a loyal Camel Light smoker. I've called and asked if this was a joke. I was told "no unfortunately it is not". I asked, well why the change? I was told "It was voted for online". Well I am giving up. Marlboro reds will be my new brand. Sorry Camel you've lost a "lifer".

i thought it was just a new design but i was wrong. They were my favorite only smoked camel lights but now they taste different. They are awful why did they change i hope enough people complain and they bring the old back.

The new Camel Lights out in Feb 2008 has me feeling light headed and sick in stomach, and that's after just a couple. And I bought a carton. If I can't return them I'll throw them out. Have enjoyed Camel lights for years.

I've been smoking Camel Lights for about 15 yrs and I don't understand why they changed the taste of the Lights! They now have a cigar after-taste and they are horrible, so much that my throat hurts when I smoke them. Because of this I have switched brands and so have many of my friends that used to smoke Camel Lights. Bad move Camel!!!

I've been smoking camel lights since I was 18, they have always tasted the same. The new pack and cigarettes do not only look different but they taste different. And it sucks, guess it seems like a good time to quit.

Never was a fan of lights but if i had to smoke them i would deffinatly choose camel lights.

these cigs are my absolute fav except for american spirits these camels are very smooth and dont have a bad after taste either recommended for begining smokers

camel lights are wonderfully addictive. don't be a pussy and smoke marlboro. smoke the dank and then a camel.

Camel Lights are one of the very few American cigarette brands one can actually taste any Turkish tobacco in. It's only a hint, but you can tell it's there. Pure Turkish cigarettes are my preferred smoke, when I can find them, but at $7-8 a pack they're a bit expensive to smoke regularly. Camel Lights have been the best standard-brand backup smoke I've found.

Tried these for the helluvit after being a Marlb 27 smoker. I actually like the taste and full flavor even though they're a light cig. They smell good to. Pretty damn smooth so far & I'd probably give 'em 5 but I still need some time to see.

this was my main cigarette for a long time. they were my first love. i recently switched to marlboro No. 27's because they're so much more flavorful. i'd reccomend trying the No. 27's to any camel light smoker.

I love Camel Lights.The regular filters are too strong;lights are my regular smokes,much better than Marlboro Lights.

These cigarettes are nothing special. The flavor is bland, and the buzz leaves much to be desired. Will do in a pinch, though. 3 of 5 stars.

Pretty smooth and good taste/aftertaste. My normal cig's however i have yet to try regular camel filters, but these are just awesome cigs...
