Best damn everyday beer hands down. Go ahead and convince yourself you only like overpriced microbrews that are as black as tar. You're just leaving more for me!

This is a beer you almost want to drink on its own. Complex and sweet. Rich mouthfeel. Dark and syrupy in texture. Almost chocolate like. Definitely unique in its own right. Best on a good tap. Makes sense this beer is coming from Northern England near Scotland. Does go well with some fish and chips. I will say I do have to be in the mood for this one though because there's so much in the glass.

Damn good beer, but not up with the big boys and isn't 5 star worthy....This is a good everyday drinking beer, med dark in color good taste... You can find this stuff on sale for $13-14 for a 12 pack of bottles not bad at all for a quality beer.

Newcastle Brown Ale is a solid darker beer for those who like a less bitter, more sweet, nutty aftertaste. It doesn't beat a Guiness, but many drinkers cannot handle or do not prefer a stout. The biggest problem with Newcastle is that the beer does not taste good when switching between different kinds of beers in one sitting. In other words, either stick with the Brown Ale for the evening or stay away completely.

Freaking nasty!

I rate this a 3.5. Good taste but heavy on the stomach.

A good "stand-by" brown ale. I would prefer to drink Samuel Smith's Nut Brown or Goose Island Hex Nut Brown (although Rateitall.com currently doesn't even have *listings* for either one of those!), but when I'm at a restaurant that doesn't offer either one, I'll usually drink Newcastle. Brown ale is my preferred type of beer, but Newcastle, while not bad, doesn't offer a spectacularly memorable flavour, either. It's average.

Like I said, rivals Bass for best beer out there. Guiness is on a different plane, of course. If you like New Castle, try John Courage for a good Nut Brown Ale that is underrated/understocked

I'm not a big fan of dark beers. This beer is one of the reasons. Tastes like a Hershey bar that the dog threw up. Highly overrated.

I never understood what all the hoopla was about. I don't like the taste. One of the most overrated beers in the world.

Introduced to me by a friend and his father. They were from, where else, Newcastle! (They are both, also I might add, slightly Alcoholic...) This is easily the best ale I have ever had, bar none! I grew up drinking piss water beers like Bud and Coors, now I won't touch them. Broonale has made me a beer snob. The taste is a bit sweet for ale, but that's what makes it so great. I actually will not drink beer at all at a party if I can't find Broonale to bring or something at least comparable (Yuengling or Sam Adams). The best ale in the world.

This is my favorite beer. I used to drink it a lot when I was out in the midwest. Now that I am on the East coast it is harder to find. I enjoy the dark smooth taste of it. I usually drink this with a meal, especially chicken wings.

Drink this whenever it's available.

this is the best beer of all time

Good stuff. Nothing like a Broonale. It is a bit sweet as ales go, but that can make a nice change if you've had enough of the more hoppy beers.

Great Brown Beer. Made better by the rumor that the Brits who work at the Newcastle Brewery, and have been drinking the stuff for years, are all going gradually insane. This is the most drinkable dark beer that I have ever tasted -nothing beats hanging out and putting back a couple of those giant 20oz(?) newkie browns.
