I actually struggled just finishing one of these beers. Beer is supposed to taste like beer and not like food. Just imagine drinking these all night until you're hammered...it's not possible. If you really like sipping a glass of wine or drinking only an occasional beer, this might be O.K. If not, stick to Pilsner or Lager-type beers.

it is ok i have to drink it all the time it is made in my home town and every body drinks it. Sierra Nevada does make better beers Try Crystal wheat or ruthless Or even best brown i know in other places you can only get sorry ass pale ale. Stay away from pale and I don't like India very much or Blond ale they make like 16 different types of beer and never drink bigfoot by sierra nevada

Skunky and squanky tasting, a bit thin, but not unpleasant. I think this is another slightly overrated product.

Not bad but there are much better micro-brewed around. My biggest complaint is that the water is very perfumie. Not just on this beer but all of the sierra nevadas. I will drink it, but it could be better.

Sierra Pale is my second favorite widely available beer on the market (see Sam Adams). It's usually a toss up between the two. Whenever I go to a new town, I always check out the brewpub scene and only drink so-called microbrews. Ever been to Prescott Brewery in Prescott, Arizona?

Horrible. I can drink almost anything but this was so vile I had to send it back.

Causes cotton-mouth and VERY bad breath. Makes me "not" thisty...

A standard beer against which all others are judged. Highly available throughout the west. A good drinkin' beer.

The absolute best tasting beer that exists. When I first had a Sierra Nevada, I could not get over how good it tasted. It blew Sam Adams away for me, and has made my recent move to California all the more enjoyable (it is brewed in Chico and is well distributed on the West coast). If you are from another country or have never been exposed to this beer, do yourself a favor seek one of these out. You won't regret it.

If you like pale ales, this is one of the best. A touch too "hoppy" to be perfect for everyone, though.
