I can't say I mourned her oss in the traditional sense, but I really was surprised and sad to hear about her death. Among other things, I always remembered her lips (something like Laurie Dhue's). She really was the image of the squaky-clean teenage actress. Too bad she passed away as relatively young as she did.

it is kind of awkward rating mourning for a celebrity. I thought that is too bad when I heard of her death. She really was not that old.in her day she was the bubbly adorable teenager I remember her as Gidget, and a movie called Imitation of Life. she even had her name in a song for Grease. Yet when I saw her biography, she had a tough life.she had her demons she fought. I hope she found some peace at the end of her life.

During the height of her popularity she was an icon for teenagers. I recall seeing an old teen magazine from about 1961 or 1962 and a girl wrote in to the advice columnist saying that she wanted to wear my hair like Sandra Dee but my mother won't let me. From what I have been able to find out, even though she and singer Bobby Darin were divorced they never loved anyone else as much as they loved each other. She helped teenagers make the transition from the 1950s to the 1960s with her good looks, her charm, and an aura of innocense that she carried with her throughout her life. Goodbye Gidget, RIP.

I was sorry to hear about her passing. I liked her in Gidget. Most people think of Sally Fields when they here the name Gidget, But Sandra Dee was the original.

I don't much about her. Is she the one in Gidget? If I knew her, I'd mourn her. But I don't watch very many old TV shows. I'm sorry that she passed away.
