Good enough, but I like to think I've outgrown JD.
Skizero 01/12/2005
currently i'm boycotting them. the folks at Jack took their whiskey down to 80 proof, so now manly men and hard-up soccer moms, and Joe and Joanne Worker can all get together and drink this watered down, formerly great, whiskey.
kidquick 01/12/2005
A manly man's drink if ever there was one! Perfect for sailors, hookers and those who like to party all night. For those of you who don't like it, you should probably stick to your fruity drinks. Aaargh!
JeePee 12/05/2004
I even made a special site: www.jdcollectorspage.com Love the whiskey! JeePee

Jack with a little water. (from the melted ice) Only naked women are better.
Breson 11/14/2004
#1- This is Tennessee Whiskey NOT BOURBON,,#2- Can induce a headache within 5 minutes of swallowing this rancid swill. For the money, almost any other kind of whiskey is better
deemo 10/27/2004
Jack Daniels is a classic but there are much better american whiskey's for sipping, many that are less expensive. Jack is best used as flavoring or mixing with coke or lemonade - hides the excessive sweetness.
texastwo 10/23/2004
wait , how old is it? Not 7 years old...try 3-4. Is NOT bourbon...only 80 proof?...hmmmm....have to mix it up to get it down...try maker, beam black, or knob creek if you want real taste
moewsy 10/17/2004
I made shrimp scampi sauted with Jack Daniels Lemonade...first I sauted the shrimp in olive oil for two minutes, then added Jack Daniels Lemonade and some capers, along with other italian seasonings...what a great experiment! It was absolutley de-li-cious! You gotta try it.
souljunkie 09/23/2004
This is a real mans whiskey. And joggleblggle..or whatever you call your self, good sippin whiskey was invented by the rednecks that your pissin on. I would not expect you to hang with a good southern boy. I also see a lot of folks wanting to ruin it with Coke. UGH! Dont get me wrong, I know thats a popular highball but all your doing is adding sweet to sweet! Jack has its sweet, nose warming thing going on already, and adding soda only takes away from what I want to taste..the whiskey. Give it to me right out of the bottle or give me something else!
brentumsl 09/22/2004
Massed produce crap. I mean it. Gentleman Jack is a GOD but regular is not that good. It would be good if it was say 12 a bottle but 17-19 is way too much for this. Good with Beam Black.
ernesttubb 09/01/2004
The first time I tried this (Old No. 7), my first non-Scotch whiskey, I hated it. It just seemed too darn sweet after the mellowness of Scotch. But I gave it another couple of chances, and it grew on me. Especially the nose. It's becoming a regular drink for me, although I still like Scotch better. And I'm normally morally opposed to mixing whiskey into anything except a little water, but I have to admit that Jack and Coke is tasty drink. The price is certainly reasonable for the quality.
Prima 07/12/2004
Old No. 7 is a timeless classic. If you want shot and a beer or a mixed drink or just with a cube of ice, this is your whiskey. It has a mapleish smokey bite to it. By comparison Jim Beam (another excellent whiskey) is far sweeter. I don't usually go for the hard stuff, but when I do, Old No. 7 never disapoints.
Blanco~Nino 07/10/2004
if you put this beast in some coke then it's blast off time!
jae 06/12/2004
Better than you would expect, given all of the hype!
Belcher391 06/08/2004
The best there is...... my second choice would be Yukon Jack from Canada
JJGNC 05/22/2004
I have tried many types of whiskey and believe I have a rather discerning and critical taste when it comes to things like this, as well as fine wines. Jack Daniel's Whiskey is the best tasting whiskey I have ever tried. It mixes excellently with Coca Cola, and is great as a straight shot if you so dare. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a rich, full taste with an unmatched, wooded flavor.
david455 05/09/2004
Jack and Coke there is nothing better
ClassicTVFan47 03/18/2004
Just another form of the nectar of the stupid. Should be filtered and repurposed for more delicious carbonated beverages.
froggy10 03/18/2004
Too damn sweet for me. Try Dickel's instead.
DickWeener 01/01/2004
This is a damn fine whisky, I don't care what anyone says. It is a classic, it is very orignal, nothing taste like it. I can take a bottle of Jack carry it around with me all day and drink it right out of the bottle and feel like an Alcholic, good feeling to have and even better when it gets you all mean and fired up, make Jack taste that much better. Men drink Jack Danials, leave the Crown Royal to the Blacks.
4Horseman 11/04/2003
If you want a truly enjoyable, legitimate "Tennessee" style whisky make it George Dickel #12, or nothing. Jack Daniels... it is a damned disgrace that this glorified hooch is somehow the defacto "representive" American whisky. I can name ten brands off the top of my head that are far superior and cost less. Great marketing, I'll give them that, but nothing more.
Dragon 5 10/07/2003
Classic bourbon. It's smooth. Try it with a splash of water or water on the side. Don't screw it up with Coke and ice.
pinkranger 07/25/2003
There is not another liquor that can be as diverse. There are a variety of "specialities" to suit a variety of tastes. There is Gentleman Jack for smooth, and Single-Barrel for flavor. Have a cocktail infused with Jack from their Country Cocktails. Or opt for a Jack-n-coke in bottle form. Plus there are the Gold Medal Decanter Series(can't beat 100yr old whiskey). So for any taste and any place there should always be Jack. My personal favorite is Jack with just enough Coke to give it color. ---THANK YOU Mr. Jack---

FOR REDNECKS THAT DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF TASTE
dane 04/21/2003
Jack Daniels makes a very good premium single-barrel bourbon, but the regular Jack isn't very good. Go with Makers Mark. Better yet, Booker's.
widgeon 02/10/2003
overrated and overpriced
myles 12/29/2002
This one's not altogether bad. But I wouldn't call it a good compromise of price versus quality. For the price, you'd expect "Jack's" to be be moderately enjoyable straight as well as part of a mix and really it isn't. With coke, although it's somewhat more upmarket than Jim Beam, the aftermath is much the same - bad hangover.
Teaseress 11/13/2002
This was fine until I drank just about a pint of it when I was 17 and when I woke up teh next mrning I was still drunk.....
SnowDove 01/12/2002
Ahhhhh; The best/quickest cure fer the cough;cold, a little rough on the sore throat though, still my choice.
rdee3843om 06/25/2001
Oh My GOD... THis has to be the worst HOOCH ever... JACK DANIELS, is good if you want to clean out your gun, or something... Don't drink the JACK unless you are truly an alcoholic... JACK is the FINE WHISKY of the CRAPPY WHISKY's
mukkrukkis 03/18/2001
If you want a real drink, here it is. The smell is wonderful. Best drinken strait from the bottle!
AskerosoIIDeco ntrol 01/23/2001
Really good drink. Mixable or drink it straight. It does the job! Jack Daniels fruit flavored Whiskey is also good and I highly recommend it! It gets you drunk!
K95005 01/19/2001
For the true alcoholic, nothing but Jack in the flask when it comes to Whisky. He's a good ole' boy!
homeboy 01/18/2001
I like Jack, especially when hot and in the jungle. In fact, I'd like some Jack right now. Evil circle anyone?
Dingo 01/17/2001
Jack Daniels is good enough to drink as a mixed drink or straight up. It's good enough to drink for pleasure, not just for the sake of getting drunk.
Virgo69 01/17/2001
There are many different flavors, including the little bottles called "Wild Berry Jack." It's smooth when it goes down.
Falcon 01/12/2001
The most superb variety of Whiskey. It is delicious on first taste. It is smooth as you swallow. And the gentle after-taste which is left in your mouth is purely and simply, sublime.
Vincevaga 01/08/2001
You have to like Jack. It's a classic. I enjoy sipping it in Coke on a warm summer evening, just as the stars are beginnning to emerge from the blanket of darkness that is the sky. Anyway, one can tell just by smelling J.D. that it is a fine liquor that tastes great straight out of the bottle.
Bluelady 01/08/2001
This is not something you drink for fun. It's what you drink to get drunk but it's so thick and sugary that it makes you ill if you drink just a little too much. But for mixing with Coke (lightly) it is most excellent.
Jesus Chris 01/05/2001
Jack Daniel's tastes like fire. That, oddly is appealing to me. It is light and it gets you drunk. Jack Daniels mixed drinks are also very good if you like "Zimz" or "Hooch."
Hankvankat 12/19/2000
I enjoy this particular whiskey. It is refreshing, I like it, especially when it is ice cold. It totally hits the spot. The different whiskeys I have tried are great; besides this whiskey, I like Beam. I have remarkable tastes and they both taste the same to me.
DAGN2252OM 12/06/1999
