I just started getting into whisky (starting with Scotch) about a year or two ago, and I am UTTERLY new to Bourbon, but I got one of those little airplane bottles of Maker's a couple of days ago, and was quite pleased. Gentle, not too sweet (certainly less so than Jack Daniel's -- and yes, I know JD technically is not Bourbon). I think I'm going to make Maker's a regular part of my drinking life, especially considering its reasonable price.

Very classy. Great taste with great presentation (the red wax seal really adds a certain something). Truly the spirit of Kentucky.

This was my great grandpa, grandpa, and is my dad's favorite bourbon, now i know why. Very good flavor, very smooth, I agree drink only with some ice and maybe just wave the water over the glass. If you're mixing this bourbon you shouldn't be drinking bourbon at all, or go buy some evan williams.

A fine all around bourbon. It has a smooth long taste. This or any other fine bourbon should not be mixed with anything. If you are going to mix Makers Mark with coke why don't you just drink some warm Pabst Blue Ribbon straight from the rusty can? Seriously, a few ice cube and maybe a splash of water. Enjoy it for what it is.

Yes, very well balanced. Not too anything really. Good price also. No wonder the ladies like it...

I get this from time to time when I go out drinking, I get it on the rocks with Coke, Maker's Mark is very good and smooth, I like. To me it taste kinda like Jack Danials when it is mixed with Coke also, it taste a little better than Jack Danials and a little smoother and it's about the same price as Jack, I like them both though, depends on my mood or what's on sale. I would recommend Maker's Mark to anyone who likes good whiskey.

By far and away my favorite bourbon. Sip it; enjoy its flavor which is quite smooth and complex. I always feel a moment of glee when I break that red wax and hear that friendly glug-glug as it fills the glass: ah, that life should offer this much joy!

Maker's is a fine wheated bourbon and far superior to most anything available in the average bar - however, it pales when compared to anything from the W.L. Weller line, especially the 12 year, which is believe it or not comparable in price to Makers. If you think you love Maker's you'll absolutely ADORE Weller's...

The best there is!

By far the best bourbon on the market. Do not put anything in this whisky - drink it neat. An excellent flavor that does not need to be dulled by ice, water or God-forbid - Coke.

The smoothest, nicest, richest flavored, best bourbon any individual can drink if drinking straight or on the rocks.

Only the best!

Great whiskey. Thats really all I got to say. And for the man looking for the Glenlivet, its under scotch. Dont confuse that great single malt with these whiskeys.

WAY overrated here...

Whisky (non Scottish:Whiskey) is NOT bourbon. and I am surprised that no single malt (real highland whisky) is listed here. What happened to Oban, Glenkinchie, Glenfiddich, Talisker, Lagavulin, Cragganmore?! Surely any one of these Whiskys is far superior that the mass market junk that is listed here?!

I'm not a huge bourbon whiskey fan, but this one is not at all bad. It's good enough to drink straight and cheap enough to mix if you have to. I did find that MM had a somewhat bitterish aftertaste when I tried it, although otherwise the pallete was quite pleasant.

It's the best there is. Enough said.

One very good Bourbon, especially at the price, not quite a Blanton's, but makes a daggone good Manhattan. (or enjoy it on the rocks)
