Very interesting concept regarding the implications and consequences of time travel... "But a servant? Well, I really must protest!" ;D

There were several good time travel stories on the Zone, however this wasn't one of them. Too run-of-the-mill. I agree with Bevis, Russell Johnson's acting here was very stiff.

I have nothing original to say about this episode - only that I loved it. As stated earlier, time travel was always my favorite Twilight Zone subject, and this one was done especially well. The only drawback is that in syndication, the episode is cut to a fare-thee-well, and often they cut out the most interesting parts....sometimes including the part that explains the climactic ending! See if you can find it on video, in its entirety.

Main strength of the episode: Jerry Goldsmith's music, used to better effect in other TZ episodes (e.g., in the climactic scene of "Nightmare At 20,000 Feet"). The actor who played John Wilkes Booth is pretty good, too. Main weakness of the episode: Russell Johnson's rather stiff, wooden performance in the lead role. An episode that I can take or leave.

Badly done. One of my least favorite episodes.
