William Henry Harrison destroyed the confederation at the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811, and Tecumset fled to Canada and joined the British. He was active in the War of 1812. He helped the Brits take Detroit but Perry's victory in the Battle of the Great Lakes in 1813 caused the Brits to abandon Detroit. Tecumseh fell back into Ontario with the retreating Brit forces.
