People rave about Mumm and I think it is as good as any California champagne-style wine will be. However, nothing compares to real French champagne. You can get Extra Dry Mumm but even that will be sweeter than true French champagne. However, it is not as bad as some of the cheaper, lower-quality Cali sparkling wines.

Mumm Cordon Rouge is one of the best authentic champagnes you can buy in the price range. It has more depth then Moet's Whitestar & is friendlier then the superdry Veuve Cliquot NV Brut.

You can buy Mumm at Walgreens. Need I say more? Instead of buying a really good bottle of champagne you can alot of Mumms :)
