Great slopes for all types of skiers, although the signs can be confusing and can lead you down the wrong slope. Especially wonderful if you are a very experienced skier, some of the best slopes in my opinion.

When it's just about the skiing, Vail has it all. Runs that seem to go on forever, never any poling, spectacular scenery, a good chance of powder in the back bowls, but lift lines that can be 3 or 4 hours on holidays. Go after New Years for a real treat!

The mountains are stunning, the slopes are long and uncrowded, but the town is artificially quaint to the point of being annoying. I saw so many fur coats in this little town that it made me uncomfortable.

America's plushest on snow experience, lots of great terrain (check out the new bowl skiing just opened in Category III), a killer town with something for everybody. Vail is also affiliated with Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. Beaver Creek (which hosts a World Cup Downhill race on the Birds of Prey course) has tremendous mountain-to-mountain skiing with America's best laid out base area. Don't miss Vail in the summer, has great mountain biking, hiking and chilling opportunities.
