Ring of Fire: The Emile Griffith Story 2005 5

A pretty good Documentary on the life of Emile Griffith. Lots of actual footage including the fight where Benny Paret was kiled. Pretty heavy stuff. Apparently there was bad blood between them. At some point Paret had called Griffith a perjorative term in spanish meaning gay. Griffith neither denies or confirms whether he was gay or not, but it seemed to be common knowledge in the boxing world and with sportswriter at that time. This was news to me, I had never heard this before. Some time in the mid ninties Griffith was beaten by several men as he was leaving a gay bar. The documentary focused mainly on the death of Paret (which had deep affect on his life) and his sexuality.
