Time to start winning. He's a great recruiter, but you need to produce in the dog-eat-dog Big East.
******* UPDATE********* Jay Wright's a very good coach. He gets very good players and manages to have them produce. He still needs to bolster his rep with a few more signature wins but he's one of the better coaches around.

The best young coach in America.

It's time for Jay Wright to put up or shut up. He's been at Nova for a couple of years now, and still no tournament appearances. He has the talent - the current team is stacked. NCAA probations and the telephone scandal has not painted a very good picture of the program under his leadership. In his defense, his Nova teams seem to play hard every night - but it's time to start winning some games.

Why is this guy on this website? He coaches Villanova! Villanova hasn't even been half decent since the Kerry Kittles era.

It may have happened in the past, but I don't remember another time that there have been this many good, young coaches in the country. Bill Self, Tommy Amaker, Steve Alford, Mike Brey, Matt Doherty, Quinn Snyder, Buzz Peterson, and now Jay Wright. One of the primary reasons that Steve Lappas was fired was so that Villanova would not miss out on Wright. He's a good recruiter (who else could have gotten Speedy Claxton to Hempstead, NY) and his Hofstra team really impressed me in the tournament against a UCLA squad that played tough against Duke (and may have won had Jason Williams not scored 19 straight in the second half). This is a smart move by Nova who should move back among the top teams in the Big East.
