Dack was very popular with his peers. Luke formed a quick bond with him. He also managed to get him killed and severed that bond in a snap!

OK... Great list, but instead of irrelevant rebel pilots, could we have some ancient Sith Lords, e.g. Nihilus, Revan, Bane...

Dack was fundamental to the survival of the rebellion in the fight agaimst the imperial walkers. Yes he was killed 5 minutes into the scene, but his moral support and emotional support and his spirit and wisdom was carried by Luke and all other Jedi's forever. I cant back that up but it sure sounds good.
