Top loading washer 2

Front Loaders are so much more efficient and cost effecive. We have the Kenmore HE3 washer and HE4 dryer. There simply is no comparison to the front and top loaders. Example....Front Loaders use only enough water to saturate the close while top loaders fill to a certain level wasting a lot more water. Front loaders tend to be high capacity so you can fit huge loads in there, even a king sized comfortor! Top loaders that are high capacity can barely handle the heavy load of a king size comforter let alone a pillow or two, because it throws them off balance and out of whack. Front loaders do not have the aggitator in there so you can wash even the most delicate items in there without fear of destroying them and there are cycles for this that run very low times. Most front loaders have a compartment drawer where you put all of the soaps and softeners in there to be dispenced when the time is right, which means if you are like me and can't make it to the washer on time to add liquid softener, then you can use liquid softener again! The only cons that I can think of that some people might have are, size if space is an issue to you, mastering it as there are a lot of features and buttons you have to learn to use (my other half won't even go near it, lol) and the fact that you need to buy HE soaps because regular detergent will over suds your washer and cause it problems. Personally I love the front loader and hope to never ever have to use a top loader again!

We have a Maytag that has been in my family since 1984. It has been through a lot of use. Its rusted and occasionally squeaks, but still works good. If it was a car, it would have over a million miles. The only problem it had was rusted metal clamps on the water pump hoses. An easy fix that i could of done. They sure dont make em like they used to!

I don't do the laundry, but my wife chose a top loading washer from Kenmore. I couldn't say why but every washer we have ever owned has been top loading. I'm sure she has her reason but it never occured to me to ask.
