Of course, Billy should have been there a long time ago. Like Dylan, his voice is not everyone's cup of tea, but his songs are well observed and brutally honest vignettes of life in working class Britain. (her husband was one of those blokes, the sort who only laughs at his own jokes, the sort that war takes away, but when there wasn't a war, he left her anyway). An empathetic and eloquent observer.
