Unlike most people from the East who go to the Centennial State for skiing or for backpacking or the Flatiron Range outside of Boulder, I prefer the Plains. Greeley and the back roads leading towards Cheyenne, Wyoming are among the more gaunt, yet beautiful parts of this admittedly panoramic state. I admit to being biased towards the East and New England, but Colorado doesn't take a back seat here. The University of Northern Colorado in Greeley is a pretty decent school, too, when I visited here several years ago. It may have changed.

One of more incredibly beautiful states in the nation. I lived in Evergreen breifly while I was growin up. I lived in a real log cabin, wood ants included!

I love Colorado. When I was growing up in Kansas City, my family would drive to a ranch in Durango, Colorado each summer, and I have a lot of great memories from those trips. Since then I’ve spent a lot of time visiting Colorado, skiing in the winter and camping in the summer. Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places, and Denver is a great city. The people are nice, the weather is great (the winters, everyone says, are not nearly as bad as you would think), and it’s tough to beat the beauty of the mountains.

I rate Colorado as Great, since it is such a beautiful place... I hope the beauty is preserved way into the future as well. I know the population is growing very rapidly there and I would also like to move there someday, but I am afraid with all the growth it will not be as wonderfully beautiful.

I've been to Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs. The mountains in Colorado are breathtaking. Take a drive from Denver to Aspen and you'll feel pretty insignificant next to these towering beauties. I'd also recommend a scenic trip South (New Mexico is about 5 hours drive from Denver). You drive from this lush, green land through to this arid, dry, no vegetation in site, place. However, lacking in life the road around you is, the mountains are always an awesome presence to your right as you drive South, keeping you straight.

A stunning state to visit year round, if you like the outdoors. I read somewhere that it is sunny something like 330 days a year in Boulder - you just can't beat that.
