ItemImageThe 3D puzzle involving a 3X3X3 cubic block, effectively subdivided into 27 minicubes (26 of which are visible) with different colored faces, which needs to be rearranged by twisting segments of the cube, so that each face of the cube finally consists of nine faces of the same color.

It's not divided in to 27 minicubes as the description says. It's made of 8 corner pieces, 12 edge pieces, and 1 centre piece. Anyway, this thing is an engineering marvel and is lots of fun once you get into it. I'm hoping other speedcubers would review this, too.

This object is wonderfull. But it's also frustrating :-D When you buy a Rubik's cube, there's a solution given with it. But I didn't manage to solve the cube with these explanations. There's a simple solution at http://cubeland.free.fr if you can't stand anymore your unsolved cube !

A great way to kill time! As a kid I never could get more than three sides, but now that I'm all 'growed' up, I think I understand how this befuddling device works. I've been threatening to buy another one for years. I think I might next time I'm out and about. I won't be able to die in peace knowing I was unable to solve this 'great' mystery!

When I was a teenager, I once solved this colored dot puzzle thing one evening at the house of some people I baby sat for. But when the Rubiks Cube craze came along, I knew there was no way I was ever going to solve this one. The one at our house belonged to my sister and after it sat around unsolved for a couple of years I decided to take all the squares off and put them all back as though I had solved it. For some reason, she really never saw the humor in that.

I take the Picasso approach to finishing a Rubik's Cube. My work is considered complete after I see I have enough random colors scattered on each side.

Easy to solve if you have a big enough hammer.

I could do this about 20 years ago, only after getting the how to book. Would not even have a clue how to solve it now. Besides, once you did solve it, I guess the next thing you can do is impress your friends with how fast you can do it. Certainly was one of the most popular puzzles of its time.
