Comcast Cable offers the same package in So FL so, satellite doesn't have the edge here but I don't think it's that way everywhere.

Cable has what they call moxy...same as dvr. Its about the same money wise per month. Plus in this area to have dvr on your satellite you must have a phone line. I don't pay for a home phone, I use my cell for everything so with cable I can still get the moxy box and internet.

I won't give up my DVR for anything. UPDATE FOR JED: Confusing operation plus a $15 a month service fee makes for no advantage. Plus some cable providers don't even offer DVR.

First time I've had the option of dvr (also known as tivo?) was with my satellite, but I do know in CERTAIN areas tivo is available, but I don't think in all cable areas.

You can get DVR services with cable.
