Alexi is the genuine portrait of a legend on the rising,i mean,anyone who saw him playing live can see that he goes totally wild while playing, sometimes it seems that he is is in a bezerk state but even in that state he can keep is pose and talent together. He has a lot of talent and he is quite promissing and he is still young,26 years old, like the user _Alexi_ said. True guitarist and, no doubt, an inspiration. Gotta admire Alexi.

Alexi Laiho is one of the greatest guitarists today. His riffs and solos are great! he may not be as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen, but he is not far from it! And besides, Malmsteen play this classic stuff now, while alexi have some real cool heavy metal licks and solos. I think his arpeggios are awesome!!! and peolpe, he is only 26 years old... Heard about him and his band sometime in 2004 Another legendary guitarist coming up, ive not seen many or any infact sing and play and pull of licks like he does at the same time, except for maybe malmsteen. This guy is more versatile than malmsteen but no one bag malmsteen ok?! and for the schmucks that bagged out alexi, your'll are no metal fans if you diss alexi, not liking the type of music is one thing, but when you diss someone who really hasnt been playing guitar for such a long time as many others and he is like way up there and ur way down there, die ... wow and the solos he does, 0wnage. Though i disagree with whoever said that his covers are great, they are quite different, and the iron maiden covers aint on par with the originals, i mean who can sing like bruce dickinson? those vocals for aces high and the trooper, ive heard many covers of the trooper, including my band's one, and nothing comes close to topping the original 'cause of the vocals

This IS good - I am a big CoB fan and Alexi is an inspiration for me as a guitarist. You have to give this guy credit.

he is amazing,not only does he play near impossible stuff but he also sings while pulling of some truely incredible riffs....he can play that guitar like no one else...some people say speed doesnt matter but indded it does,but thats not the only thing this man can play,he can tackle anything and his solo's are amazing some high points are in songs such as kissing the shadows,deadnightwarrior,mask of sanity,warhearts,hatecrew and deathroll,trashed lost and strungout,and many more these are just songs that come to mind....and he made both iron maiden covers he did sound better than the originals doin the trooper and aces high,he also did a ramones and slayer cover which he also made perfect....and it's good to see a sense of humor as children of bodom also played oops i did it again on their recently released mini album

Slash69, please jump into oncoming traffic. Alexi Laiho is a terrific guitarist. He very well deserves his spot as 5th best, if not more. His music is not for little music newbies however. The complex leads may confuse the lesser music buffs. You don't have to like his vocals, or even his songs, but you just MUST acknowledge him as a guitar god. Energetic, melodic and extremely difficult solos.
