Easier said than done, but if you can manage it; it's definitely a great way to push off the stress of everything.

This is tough, but true. Sometimes the thoughts that you have are so hard to get rid off, they become haunting, cause headache, interfear with your life, but with a nice effort it's doable.

I wish I was better at this.

There's good and bad in all aspects of life. Too often we take for granted all the good and get hooked on the negative aspects we can't change. Instead of cursing the traffic, the bad weather or the unpleasant people in life, it makes more sense to plan our way around these things or to keep yourself preoccupied with things that are constructive. It's not about denying life's unfortuante realities or shirking the opportunities you have to make changeable situations more positive. It's about being wiser about what truly merits your attention in life, making the most of what you have, and then appreciating the good.

i am one who needs to work more on being positive. it can be difficult to move aside the negative feelings. i do try and think of the good things that happen in our life. i even kid I am kind of an EEyore. sometimes it is hard NOT to be negative when things are going rough. I agree that it helps to remember the good too.

I think you need some negative in your life to help you appriciate the positives a little more. Besides conflict is important for improvement in our lives. You have to learn to deal with the negatives and figure out where the thoughts are coming from so that you can change them.

I don't think it is particularly healthy to push aside negative thoughts. Sometimes you just need to find an outlet for them, and get it out of your system. With that said, it is not healthy to keep dwelling on them either.

We're human beings and we need a balance otherwise we wouldn't be human. Sometimes its good to set aside a few minutes of the day for negative thinking, otherwise if you have too many of these you will become too negative and people will want to dis-assocaite themselves with you.

This is BS. You can't push negative thoughts aside. Those help you to improve yourself. If you walked around thinking positive all day, you're going to miss a lot of things that could help you improve. It's just a downward slide from the moment you adopt this attitude. You know, what is funny? I try to talk common sense to people, and they're calling me negative now! Is this some Tony Robbins Power of Positive Thinking BS? People are really greedy for money nowadays. I can't imagine how this crap will help anyone improve their life and get more successful. I feel like repeating that old tagline from, who was it, Sinead O'Connor? STOP THE INSANITY! Please!

You can't just dwell on the negative all of the time. Sometimes, you have to just push the darkness aside and leave the light on full! Sometimes, just thinking of something good can make the bad times go away.
