I can be awful pessimistic. but i do try and remember as bad as some things seem, all i have to do is turn on the news read the paper, even know of some people personally who are having it worse. I know that things are not as bad as I think. I try and count my blessings. a roof over my head, two great kids, a nice spouse, healthy for the most part. enough to eat. etc. i try and remember that. when i get too pessimistic.

Many times when it seems the chips are down,I remind myself of all the wonderful blessings I have.It may sound corny-but there's always someone with much worse problems than you or I.Having worked in several Hospitals has proven this to me!

This is important to do, particularly when you're going through a very bad time in your life. Sometimes it's easier to compartmentalize all of your thoughts and feelings when the going gets rough, but putting things in perspective is a better way of doing it. Life is all about attitude, how you choose to approach it determines outcomes many times. Getting a little perspective can help you think things through much more clearly.

I think this is important. I know that there are sometimes when I will get mad at something really trivial, and I have to stop and tell myself that it isn't worth getting worked up over. That things could most definitely be worse, and that I am really lucky to have the blessings that I do.

I think this is very important. Often we get too hung up on things we have no control of or things that when you think about them more, just aren't as important as you think.

Every once in a while you need to take time out and look at the bigger picture, if not your going to be consumed and eaten alive by the very thing thats troubling you. Even if having perspective means writing your thoughts down on paper, going for a walk or talking to someone this is so essential for a healthy living.
