I fly Allegiant from Knoxville to Clearwater regularly, as to many of my friends. You have to understand how they are able to offer great fares and accept some inconveniences, if you do I'm convinced your experience will be great, mine always has been.

#1 In Knoxville at least, they have a separate company that is contracted o provide all airport services. They have a skeleton crew. The same people who check you in at the counter load your checked luggage and manage the gate. They have always been polite and efficient, even if a bit rushed at times. If you arrive late and they are already gone to the gate, you may hold up the plane or even miss your flight. Low fare = less service.

#2 They are a discount carrier, they don't offer refunds, they charge extra for checked baggage, and virtually anything that you require beyond getting you to your destination.
Low fare = no extras. Prices for drinks and snacks on the plane are reasonable, and they have a decent variety. They provide excellent service, and flights seem to be festive, probably because most folks are on their way to have fun, it's not a business travelers airline.

#3 As for comfort and cleanliness, unbelievably good on all the flights i have taken. I'm 6'2" tall and 250 lbs. I have never been more pleased with seat comfort on any airline. I don't know why this is the case, and I can't speak for their entire fleet, but Knoxville to Clearwater service is incredibly comfortable.

I just booked my third trip in a year. Prices always start at a great rate, but flights that aren't selling get discounted, and flights that fill up quick increase. Supply & demand. I recommend Allegiant highly. Carry two items on. Reject all extras as you book (they do try to slide them by you at every click of the mouse), and enjoy a comfortable price at an unbelievable price. I booked my flight today for $92.70 round trip Knoxville to Clearwater including all fees and taxes. I wasn't planning to go anywhere next Monday, but at that rate, two days on the beach is irresistible. Thanks Allegiant!

Horrible.......Cheap is not worth this kind of horrible..... rotten ......nasty customer service. If you have a problem you have to call a long distance number NOT A TOLL FREE NUMBER. And it takes at least 20 min to talk to someone. They do not have customer service supervisor on the floor. You have to leave a message and they call you back the next day!

After they nickle and dime you to death, we paid to extra charge of 30 in case we needed to change our ticket.....we still had to buy a NEW TICKET! Yes a new ticket so what was the 30 for.

They do not care about there customers.....

Go Southwest pay the extra...it is worth EVERY PENNY...you can change your ticket..use it for another date....and they don't nickle and dime you to death.

We moved to Sunny Florida almost one year ago. We have flown Allegiant from
Springfield, Mo to Las Vegas and many trips from Sanford/orlando to Springfield, MO and return. No incidents, no problems, just CHEAP! We have had many visitors from the midwest fly to visit and we always suggest Allegiant! None of our guest have had any
problems with Allegiant. Also....when you get to the point of booking a seat, double click till you receive an arrow. NO CHARGE!! They don't overbook, so you can bypass that
charge and still get a good seat. Then if you just do a carry on (correct size), avoid that charge. I will fly Allegiant as long as they have the great fares and I receive the same
good services! Our last trip we flew for $19 each, when gas was at the highest! Can't
beat they 17 hour drive!

I had a great experience flying with Allegiant roundtrip, Bellingham,WA to San Francisco. Flights were on time and everyone working for the airline was exceptionally friendly. The only issue was overhead space because some people brought HUGE bags that they considered carry-ons even though the bags really should have been checked. People were just too cheap to pay for the checked bag service. However, when the plane ran out of overhead space the flight attendents worked really hard at finding a spot for the bags or kindly checked them down below without a fee.

The airline was nothing exceptional but it got me to and fro safely. Of course everything from checked luggage to reserving a seat ahead of time costs extra so remember, you pay for what you get. And if you stick to the basics don't hold your expectations too high. In my case, I was pleasantly surprised :)

As far as cancelling or changing anything, I don't know, I didn't have to do it.

Oh yeah... Be sure to get there early if you want a window or an aisle seat (or any seat at all really, they are very particular about being there on time and the check in line gets really lengthy as they employ as few people as possible and they don't have computer check in service either).

Initally, we were pleased at how easy it was to schedule and arrange our trip for the low fare. Then we had to cancel our trip. Our son was ill. When I called to cancel the reservationists offered the info of using our credit for another flight, hotel, or attraction tickets...like
Disney. We initially sent a Dr.s letter to customer service because the reservationist thought they may make an exception and refund us. That request was denied. We also asked for an extention on our credit so we might use it to fly next summer ...also denied. So we decided to book a day at Seaworld and use some of the credit anyway.(We live in Fl. and don;t need the flight). When I called to book they said you have to take a flight in order to use recieve tickets. This was the advice of yet another reservationist'"just book a flight (you don't need to actually fly ) and we will e-mail your tickets." Ok this sounded resonable. This week i call explain my situation and request. Ok' your booked. I recieve a confirmation e-mail. I call and arrange the rest of our weekend with family, etc. The next day i recieve aphone message from Allegiant "we cannot give you the Seaworld passes unless you physically take the flight." So i call and spend yet another morning trying to work this out with only a dead end. This reservationist promises to have customer service contact us either by phone or e-mail..........we have heard from no one. Now our credit expires in 60 days. We know of no one who wants to purchase the credit at even 1/2 the price because the reputation of the airline has really gone down hill. We figure Allegiant is $400.00 up thanks to us. Bcause we cancelled our flight 1 week in advance. They had plenty of time to fill those seats again. they will never fill those seats with anyone in my family or extended family again.

I've read many of the reviews here and agree in part with most of them. We've flown Allegiant many times because of the convenience of a one hour flight to our chosen destination. My complaint comes after having cancelled a flight last week and a bad telephone experience. The young woman I spoke to when cancelling was a total B****. I understand completely that I'm being charged out the yingyang for being able to check my bags, select seats (did someone say leg room? I'm short and don't have leg room!), etc. I've bought their "insurance" and was surprised that I did not get credit since I was cancelling the day of the flight; I ended up losing over half of what I had paid. The person I spoke with was extremely rude and yelled at me. I admit that I had not read the "fine print" with the insurance because I literally could not find it. My bad. Still no reason for her rudeness. It also bothered me that she continued to speak of Allegiant as "they" to the point that I asked if she actually worked for Allegiant or was a telephone service. It troubled me that being an employee of the company she did not take ownership of her position. Perhaps they don't treat their office staff very well either. No wonder they can keep their prices low if they screw over everybody. The only way for Allegiant Air to be considered really inexpensive is if you are one of the huddled masses who cram all their luggage into the overheads and pay air fare only. Someone on here mentioned people who tried to cram so much stuff into their bags. Yeah, you're probably one of those that takes forever to get your bag to fit into the overhead because it is overstuffed. When I travel with them it is usually for a week or more stay so I know I'll have to check bags. The last time I flew the stewardess rudely told me (and my seatmate, who I didn't know) to remove earbuds so that we could hear her. With no music playing I could still hear her; she was a control freak. I also find it SOOOO annoying when they play their in-flight gambling games. If I want to spend my hour in the air either reading or listening to music I don't need them to be shouting over the PA system about buying raffle tickets. The last time I flew they announced that anyone who needed more time to walk to the plane should board first. I am in need of knee surgery and went to board. The ticket agent looked at me like I was crazy and questioned my boarding then. Will I use them again? Yes, because of the convenience of the one hour flight and no layover. But I want other would-be Allegiant travelers to be aware that not all is as it appears when making your travel arrangements. Buyer Beware!

I will never fly Allegiant Airlines ever again! Talk about the the worst stewardesses ever! I was basically threatened by a stewardess on a flight from Phoenix to Cedar Rapids that if my 2-year-old son didn't sit down in his seat the whole flight with his seatbelt on that she would have security meet us at the gate when we arrived. I would be the first to admit if my son was acting up, and he was the best he has ever been on a flight. He never cried, fussed, or caused any commotion. He only looked behind him a couple of times and said hi to the people behind us, who also said hi. There was no warning, nothing. She just got in my face and my 2-year-old son's face and said he better sit (he wasn't even standing up) with his belt on or security would meet us. This is while the seatbelt sign is off, people are walking the aisles, and other kids are screaming and standing on their seats. I have never been so insulted in my life or made to feel so bad. Moreover, my mother just flew this airline and they lost her bag along with 10 other peoples' bags on a DIRECT FLIGHT. How that happens is beyond me. Don't let their prices fool you - they charge for EVERYTHING - seat, bags, snacks - so they don't end up being cheaper than any other flight.

Never, Never, Never again. Allegiant gave us our boarding passes for Monterey to Las Vegas & then an hour later told us the flight was canceled until the next day. The following day (another day of rental car & hotel later) we showed up at 1PM for our 3:20 flight. Got our boarding pass for 3:20 and didn't leave until 8:30 with no explanations from Allegiant customer service. As for sympathy, they handed out a bottle of water. Phoned their reps and got "you'll need to write a letter to complain". As for the money saved, they cost us an extra $120 in rental car, hotel, and taxes they failed to add on when we booked the flight. I will stay home or drive before I fly Allegiant again.

My family and I flew with Allegiant from Bellingham Washington to Las Vegas in Late October/08. Not only did they allow several severely intoxicated passengers to board my flight but they sat them in the EMERGENCY EXIT row! They yelled and screamed proffanities the whole way and the staff kept serving them alcohol. The flight attendants were like meek mice and said nothing even though they could see the other passengers were fed up with this torture. They walked past me sitting there with my fingers in my ears and did nothing - said nothing - did not ask me if I was okay. This airline should be fined and put to task to clean up!
I wrote them a letter stating my concerns and asking for a refund and they essentially called me a liar. I will never fly with them again and caution anyone who considers flying with them to reconsider.

They are cheaper than other airlines for a reason! If they don't charge you what other airlines are charging, then chances are that they do not have regular maintenance etc for their planes. The seats we had coming home were broken and so cheap that they didn't even recline. The plane sounded like it was a rattle trap and I was nervous to fly on it.
I fly at least 10 times a year - but never again with Allegiant - they are TERRIBLE and a RIP OFF.

Hi am extremely disappointed in the treatment I have received today. I fly with Allegiant once, sometimes twice a month, with my son, spending plenty of money! For the 2nd time, Ive gone through the inconvenience of driving to the airport to purchase tickets during the times provided by Allegiant and walking away empty handed. This afternoon I called to confirm someone would be at the ticket counter. When they gave me the times between 2:30 and 4:30pm, I started driving. When I arrived, they told me, nope, gotta come back at 7:05pm, it just changed.

Taking the time out of our busy work schedule to drive out of the way to the local airport all to be told incorrect information 2 times now is absolutely unacceptable. The first situation was handled GREAT! The gentleman was able to book the flights with the help of a manager and waive both the booking and convenience fees. Today, complete opposite. I dont mind booking online or over the phone but when already Ive wasted time, gas, cell phone minutes, etc. Ive already wasted money! Im not going to waste money on misc. fees that should have been avoided in the beginning if Allegiant followed through with what they promised.

How in the world can you employ such rude and inconsiderate associates who dont bother to help or even ask a manager a question?! And then, they tell you its going to be 48 hours before someone will take the time to call me back?!?!?!?!?! Im exhausted by todays efforts and eagerly look forward to flying with a different airline. There are too many to chose from and low prices with todays economy. Myself, my Father, Husband, and Child will not be flying Allegiant as we have been consistently for the past 6-8 months!

Simply disgusted!

Before allegiant air the cheapest way from clearwater florida to springfeild missouri is to fly from tampa to kansas city and get a greyhound from kansas city to springfeild. I flew that way and it cost me 330 dollars before the 80 dollars on greyhound. i flew that same trip last week for 50 dollars, i didnt check a bag i bought my ticket in person, i used general seating and brought my own cookie and water. alot of people forget that they do direct flights to so many places which is so nice saving time. oh and i booked 4 hours before the plane left..... 50 dollars!

I flew from Lexington, Ky to St. Petersburg, Fl - It was wonderful. The flight took 1 hour and 40 mins - The plane is very clean and comfortable. Other airlines should take note. I hope it stays forever. My only issue was the St. Petersburg Airport. If a flight is first going out (4:45p), then don't let the other passengers on a (5:20) and (6:00p)flight go first in the security line. This should be a no brainer. No one took charge...Made our flight leave late. Will fly Allegiant again - very soon!!!!!

Allegiant has saved my family from having to drive to visit family and to be with our families in emergencies.  The $29.00 airfare is less than anything annoying you might have to put up with.  We are all frequent travelers in my family and trust me, frequent travelers do not buy fancy smancy luggage and expect it to look the same.  If you are not web site savvy, then have someone who is book your flight for you.  All you have to do is uncheck all the items that you do not want to pay for i.e. extra luggage.  I also get annoyed when someone brings four pieces of luggage for the weekend, then tries to stuff it into the overheads only for me not to be able to fit one piece in.  You do not need all of those clothes and shoes.  No one cares how you look except for you!!!  I have also recommended Alleigiant to my friends and one of my friends flies almost every weekend to her destination to visit with her husband in the military.  It is also great for college football games if you are interested in Marshall, UCF, or USM.  I recently flew in one of my family members for a weekend visit.  It only cost us $80.00!!!  The attendants are always friendly and very attentive to first time flyers.  So to all you high maintenance people?  Get a life.  P.S.  Check out the bar in the Sanford Airport.  The crowd is always lively and friendly.

Well, three flights in three months from Bellingham to Las Vegas later, Allegiant continues to lack in timeliness.  Our first flight was frightening enough, taxiing right off the runway!  The employees are very nice, the aircraft pretty clean considering the amount of people who use the airline, but, they just can't seem to be on time.  We have YET to depart or arrive on time with these people.  The latest was out of Bellingham on November 2, when we were 2 hours late to leave.  Once aboard, we were told by the pilot that they'd shut down one runway in L.V., there was construction going on, and this would be the norm for the next couple of months.  Well, thanks for the consideration!  We were another hour or so late leaving to come back.  They know this is going to occur, why don't they notify passengers before we all get there on time only to wait in that dumpy little Bellingham airport for hours??????????   I don't get it........if ONLY another airline would do this run they'd be out...I have personally written to the company, I wish more of us would!

Bellingham to Vegas and back. Flights were over an hour late in both directions. On the way back we checked in and were never informed of the lateness, and the airport monitors indicated that the flight was departing on time. 45m before the flight was to depart we were informed on the PA that the inbound aircraft was 1hr late leaving Bellingham due to a late departure from Vegas earlier that day, and that we'd be an hour late leaving as a result. I went to the gate desk and asked why they did not inform us of the lateness earlier when the obiously knew about it. They wouldn't even acknowledge that they had known it was late hours ago, despite their statement that the delay resulted from a late departure from Vegas several hours ago. Nothing is free onboard, even soft drinks are $2. It costs extra to check even one bag. On the way back the aircraft was equipped with seats didn't even recline. Bellingham airport is a dump and the only place to buy food/drink after security (a coffee cart) closed an hour before the flight departed Bellingham. I'll NEVER fly with these folks again. Poor service, late flights, poorly-equipped aircraft.

I'm terrified to fly and was even more horrified after making my reservations with Allegiant and then reading all the atrocious reviews about them. My experience with them, however, couldn't have been better. My departure and return flights were ahead of schedule, the attendants were pleasant and attentive, and the leather seats were very comfortable. My sister had the same positive experience with Allegiant as well. Their extra fees are a bit aggravating, but there are a couple that you can opt out of. They charge $30 (if I'm remembering correctly) to choose a seat assignment for you. You can click "general seating", in which case you're assigned a seat when you check in. That way, there's no charge. Also, they automatically charge a flight cancellation fee, but you can opt out of that as well and the charge is deleted. Of course, it's not clear that you these options... I found out by accident when clicking around their reservation screen. Sneaky, aren't they.... But couldn't beat the price. Saved hundreds and the flights were fantastic.

It's just a matter of time... From what I've read here, and what I've heard from other Allegiant travelers (guys I work with mostly) and after my last trip from Bellingham to Vegas and return, I am convinced. I won't bore you with details other than our flights were significantly delayed due to THREE separate mechanical issues. The staple aircraft of Allegiant, the MD-80 is an aging fuel pig. Discount airline absolutely. Discount prices and discount everything else, including your safety. I'm done with shoestring nickle and dime airlines, I'll pay 3 times as much for an airline that has newer aircraft and does regular oil, lube and filter changes.

FYI: Alaska Airlines had MD-80's until flight 261 went down with a mechanical problem, just search youtube. Alaska doesn't have MD-80's anymore. Perhaps Allegiant bought them all.

Trip to Vegas from Des Moines went well. If you know going in that you will get nickel and dimed, just be aware of that when thinking about prices. My rule of thumb. See a price, raise it by 25%, and that is what you will likely be paying. If you can deal with that, have a good time.

Flight from Roanoke to Sanford and back. No frills is fine with me, rude air stewards and long delays are not. On our return flight the steward named Renee announced the following to the passengers (all of whom were seated with the overhead bins closed): "This plane is NOT going to roanoke until you people remove all small items from the overhead bins and put them under your seat." This was in a tone dripping with disdain. We were further held on the plane for 1 1/2 hours listening to a high-pitched nauseating beep. When we inquired about it we were told to "deal with it" by an attendant named Sue. The delay was for the fuel tanks to be filled...uh, shouldn't that have been taken care of prior to us boarding? Then the pilot announced that we were taking a mechanic with us. Very comforting (note sarcasm).

Just as an FYI - the plane was nearly 1 1/2 hours late arriving in Roanoke for our flight out. Had it only been a delay on one flight, I may overlook it, but with the two delays and the same time frames, I question as to if this is habit.

I've heard good things about Allegiant out of Knoxville, TN. However I will NEVER fly Allegiant out of Roanoke again. I fly a couple times a month and have never been spoken to like this before. I have zero tolerance for that sort of attitude, especially from someone in a service field.

This airline would NOT refund my parents' tickets into Gulfport, Mississippi. The flight was scheduled to land on September the 3rd--AFTER the Governor had ordered a mandatory evacuation! The very airport they were to land in was CLOSED 30 minutes after the flight was scheduled to arrive. As MILLIONS of people were fleeing for their lives, Allegiant was insisting to their passengers that they had to fly, or lose their money. What kind of irresponsible *&^?! is this? My parents didn't fly. Lost their money. We will NEVER patronize these money grubbing, conscience-free parasites again. (Yes, I'm angry. You would be, too.)

Wonderful flight in July from Sanford to Bangor. If you book early you can't beat the price and most of the airlines are charging for extras now. After adding up the "extras" the price will still be lower than flying a major airline. Hopefully they will have the Sanford/Orlando to Bangor route for many years to come! Wonderful flight attendants!

Flights were from Knoxville to Ft Lauderdale and back. I flew with a lap baby by myself. I checked 2 bags which I had to $60 total for (both ways) & I made a joint reservation for a Alamo car rental for a week. I pd $450 for all (rental car, flights, travel protection ins & bags), which is great! A few weeks before my flight I decided to add two days to my trip, I called Allegiant & was surprised (they were too) that the rate wouldn't change. Still a week later & no extra charges on credit card so WOW! Flights were on time , my only complaint is that there is really no leg room on their planes. But compared to almost 3x the price & layovers I will suffer the 2 hr ride.

First and foremost, Allegiant Airlines is DEFINATLEY WORTH IT!!! As I have read every complaint listed on here I can not Believe the IGNORANCE Most of the complainers have!!First YES Allegiant charges for everything (AVERY SMART THING TO DO ) considering that on other airlines you are already paying for things that you probably are not even using you pay for all those peanuts and sodas and extra weight and extra water on board that you wont even use so allegiant gives you those options you want drink or food buy it yo want to check a bag you will pay for it. Funny How when I have tried calling Their corporate office (which they just built a new office )I have had any questions answered immedatley. The cities that I have flown to thatthey flyinto I have not seen any rude or unprofessional behaviour if the flight is delayed for more than 2 0r 3 hours thay will bring food and drinks in and give you a voucher(most airlines do not even do that) it seems to me that if one person has had a bad experience then others that hear or read about it try to get on the Lets bring the man down wagon. If you want to fly on another airline so be it your prerogative but I can guarantee that you will spend more and the service will not be personal

They will nickel and dime you do death. The advertised fare looks good, but once you start to actually book, beware! They say "this is your total including all taxes and fees" with a little star, you check the little star and it says "EXCEPT for the $11.50 per person per segment CONVENIENCE fee of booking online". With a family of four, that adds up quickly. Then, if you want to check just ONE bag, it's $30 extra. Oh, and they try to force you to reserve seats, (charging you $13.50 per seat). It won't let you get to the next screen of the checkout unless you reserve seats (or, reserve them, then UNRESERVE them --that was the only way not to pay.) They automatically assign you seats, then try to force you to pay extra for "reserving" the seat they assigned you. It gets quite ridiculous.

I wouldn't mind the extra fees if I felt they were valid, and the company was upfront about it. But they try to sneak in all these ridiculous fees, and they insult your intelligence by thinking you won't notice. THAT bugs me.

Also, I think the $11.50 "convenience" fee to have you book online is ridiculous. They do NOTHING for you to make your own reservation. It's SAVING THEM MONEY not to have to have an employee doing the booking for you. Know what I mean? If anything, they should give you a discount for doing all of the work yourself.

Allegiant Air, I used to like you. But now, you just disappoint me.

let me start by sayin that i have flown Allegiant numerous times, all on the same route (Roanoke-St. Pete) and have had great experiences in doing so, if you book your tickets far enough in adavance you get one heckuva deal, they have just recently upgraded all the seats in all their air craft with new leather ones. Personnel are all very friendly. We have only had one delay, and that was because of bad weather up in Allentown where our plane was coming from. The one thing that puzzled me slightly is on our last flight out of St Pete the ground crew were gettin planes confused, both the Huntington and Allentown planes came in with in 5 minutes of each other, and they flipped the gates, which made us move, but being a small airport it wasnt a big deal. I like the way they board at St Pete as well, since there are no jetways, the board using both the front and rear of the air craft to get everyone on faster which is a nice touch, and they let you board early if you are elderly or have small children, those of you that have those small kids will definatley appreciate this. One of the only cons i have found is that when it comes to baggage claim it takes a while, as they pull you bags off the planes then load the next plane for a quick turn around, then bring the bags to the belts for you to claim, so it has taken as long as 20 mins to get our bags in roanoke, where the bag guys are the same as the ticket agents. it isnt as bad in St pete where they have more staff on hand

overall 5 star

I have never before seen such a poorly managed AirLine. My first experience with flying Allegiant Air will be my last (unless I have all day to spend in the airport for a 2 hour direct flight).
First, my flight outgoing from Knoxville, TN to Orlando, FL was delayed an hour and a half waiting on a plane. Then, one week later my return flight was delayed two and a half hours because they didnt have enough planes to get everyone waiting in the airport to their destinations. The gate agent came over the microphone and announced that our plane had been given to another flight headed for North Carolina because they were delayed waiting on a plane. Long story short, we watched our plane take-off for North Carolina while we waited on it to return to pick us up and fly us back to Knoxville.

Apparently, Im not alone in my experience with Allegiant. While waiting in the airport, I had a chance to do a little Google-ing on Allegiant Air I should have done this before I booked the flight There are numerous websites listing more poor than good customer reviews, most of which are concerned with late flights waiting on aircraft. The only positive things given by happy customers are the prices and the fact the flights are direct flights. Direct flights yes... But I dont know if they are any shorter due to the delays associated with not having enough planes to meet their commitments to their booked customers.

And if you like the prices How do you like all the hidden fees? But thats another story.

Beware the hidden fees, seat assignment ($10-$12) baggage fees ($20) Trip "Flex fees"? ($30) and of course "Miscellaneous Fees" ($23) I am not used to all these fees, and clicked on buy, and then got an itemized bill showing all these fees. The baggae and seat fees are told to you before you purchase but the latter are not. Around trip ticket before taxes should have been initially $137.00 after taxes and "fees" the ending price was $235.00! that is a healty mark up. Sixty dollars? I feel taken advantage of, and I want to warn anyone thinking of flying this less than up front business.

Trying to contact a customer service person is next to impossible. Be afraid, very afraid.

Buyers beware. If you have other options - Use them. The big airline carriers work with you when there are problems. Allegiant does not. Their customer service in the worst I have experienced. They shut phone lines down, and provide e-mail addresses the return messages as "address unknown." If you have a problem, expect no help from their call center to the corporate office. Once they have your money - they have it. They changed our flight schedule to an unacceptable time without any explanantion. With 3 weeks until the trip, there is nothing we can do. I will never use Allegiant Air again. They only offer limited flights on limited days, so you have no other options. Use a larger airline and larger airport - even if it costs a little more. In the long run you will be better off. Besides that - Allegiant Air's flights are higher than you expect with the extra costs for everything. Don't use them.

Living in a rural area (midway between Fargo,ND, and Sioux Falls, SD) we are no strangers to HIGH air fares and non-stop flights to the closest hub city only. If we wanted to go anywhere other than Minneapolis or Denver we needed to plan to spend most of our first and last vacation days sitting around airports waiting for connections. It is no surprise that we have been thrilled with the opportunity to fly ALLEGIANT non-stop to Las Vegas, Mesa and Orlando at very LOW fares.

We have flown the Las Vegas flight numerous times and have nothing but good to report. In reading the other reviews here I wonder if those with negative comments have flown any other airline lately. They All have the extra charges slipping in for baggage, flight delays and the occasional rude employee. (have you ever noticed that how you react to a situation and treat other people will in return influence the way you are treated??)

We love everything about ALLEGIANT and look forward to our next
LOW COST, NON-STOP flights from both Fargo and Sioux Falls!

Highly recommend the non-stop flight from Springfield MO to Las Vegas NV. However, working with them now on checked luggage that looked like it went through a shredder. I will post again after the determination on compensation is determined.

I have flown Allegiant Air numerous times and I have found their service to be personable and everyone from the ticketing agents to the pilots are very friendly. They have cheaper air fare and the fact they charge for bags does not bother me because the people that do not have to carry bags on do not have to pay the same as the ones who think they need to take 4 huge bags. The ticket agents in Cedar Rapids Iowa are very fun and compassionate.THe flight attendents love to have fun on the plane and even some of the pilots get involved as well. They do not overbook which in the airline industry nowdays seems to be a common thing. Give Allegiant air a break, there are many other airlines with the same problems if not worse. Thanks to the crew at Cedar Rapids and Sanford!!!

Our first Allegiant flight had a 5.5 hour delay (Allentown ABE Airport)! They had a malfunctioning part that needed to be replaced. Well, these things happen sometimes... it's the way the staff handled it that impressed me. They were appologetic, and very helpful. I needed to change my rental car times, and the rental car company was not helpful at first, so an Allegiant staff person made the calls for me and changed the times keeping my rates (they originally were going to almost double my rental cost! And for a 3 week rental that was a lot of money). Allegiant then gave back boarding passes for anyone who wanted to leave the airport and come back later... which we did. We were not far from the local mall and we went there with another family. When we returned, they had dvd players with movies playing for the kids, pizza everywhere, cold drinks, snacks of all kinds... and we each got $50 vouchers for our next flight. The airfare was $49, so we essentially got our money back. They said a 5.5 hour delay and we departed in 5 hours 35 minutes. Our flight was great (since we kind of knew the staff by then). Another incident with Allegiant was my fault, as we got to the airport VERY late (Sanford, FL SFB Airport). As easy as it is to get to that airport, I somehow got turned around and was driving in the wrong direction:( We finally got there and got to the counter, my young daughter and I, exhausted from running. And the 2 girls at the counter looked very sorry and said we had missed boarding. I had work the next day.. my daughter had school, I had no idea what I was going to do since the next flight wasn't until the next day! One of the girls stepped aside and made a call.. she turned to me and said to hurry.. they are holding the flight! You couldn't imagine my surprise! I'd never heard of any airline holding a flight for someone. They grabbed our luggage and said get going, they'd take care of it... so off we were again running to our gate. Thankfully it's such a small airport, and the security check was a breeze. We found a flight attendant watching for us.. helped us in with our carryons, and got us to our seats. I was very appologetic, and she was so nice. I still can't believe we got on that flight! We used the vouchers several months later (it was more like a credit on my account, not a physical voucher) and I had no problem at all. I only payed $18 plus tax&fees for our flight that time! We flown several times since and never had another delay, and I was also never again late for a flight:) ... so far. There were so many bad reviews here, especially about the staff, so I really wanted to share out experiences to be fair to the airline. People are more likely to complain than compliment.. that's not to say the other posters didn't have valid complaints, just that there are probably many, many more people with good experiences like me, instead of bad.

DO NOT FLY ALLEGIANT AIR!! They destroyed our brand new luggage (Vegas-> Bellingham! Short trip!). There are two holes in my suitcase big enough to stick my arm through. Very poor customer service, am having to get the BBB involved. It is very hard to get ahold of anyone (convient, concidering you have to make a baggage damage claim within 24 hours of landing). Rude staff all round (excluding the flight staff) ALLEGIANT SUCKS!! Inform your friends to find a better airline.

We flew on Allegiant from Biloxi to Orlando on 3/28. We paid for 2 check bags but imagine our surprise when we had no luggage upon arrival. We were at the airport 3 hours prior to our flight, so they should have been some of the 1st on the plane. As of today 3/31 we have had no response from their "Welcome Desk" regarding our lost luggage. When we call the number given to us when we filled out the missing luggage report, we only get a recording. The one time our call was returned the lady told us we could only file a complaint in writing. I would advise everyone to carefully consider the pros & cons of this "no service" airline before booking a flight. We will keep you informed of our progress. We are having to buy clothes and I am sure will not be reimbursed for them.

I can not comprehend why Allegiant Air is not listed on the BEST !0 AIRLINES, when it should be listed at the very TOP of the many airlines we have traveled with.

Congratulations to the crew... and AMY...you go girl!

We had the pleasure of enjoying a round trip flight with Allegiant Air on March 18, 2008, departing from Lexington, KY, to Tunica, MI.

Our (my wife and I) out bound trip to Tunica was great, and the wife and I were most impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness the whole crew provided. However on our trip home to Lexington, we had three proficient flight attendants, Edward, Lynzee, and "AMY".

Amy is the one who had the beautiful "genuine" smile, and went beyond and above giving professional, proficient service
to all passengers onboard. Her super personality, the pilots aviation skills with a smooth flight take-off and landing, as well as the 20+ minute early arrival made us firm believers in Allegiant Air being a 5 star service air line.

We booked a trip during their "Buy One, Get One" airfare sale. What a crock. Before I pushed the final "buy" button, I called and asked about the discount and she told me that it would come off at the end, so I purchased the tickets. Needless to say there was no discount. I called back and after two rude represitives, whom one woman said she was a manager argued with me and told me that the price included the discount which is not stated on the website anywhere and proves to be untrue. When you figure the cost of the flight seperate and the cost of the hotel it comes up the same price. So there is no savings. Furthermore she went on to say she was going to put on the computer that I was a rude and nasty customer and instruct noone to talk to me. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone. Customer service means nothing to this company. I will never use them again.

We booked a trip during their "Buy One, Get One" airfare sale. We booked our trip as a group during a very limited scope of time available for the trip. Last month we got an email saying to call immediately because there is a change in itinerary. Here they decided to discontinue service on the day we were suppose to return. They would let us stay another night. Two of us needed to be to work the next day with no way around it so we chose to take the refund. We paid $423 each for air and hotel. We asked for the refund that they said they would do. We finally see the refund a month later. They only credited $418 for both of us. After some crying on the phone, they upped the offer to $660. Still doesn't cover the two packages. We did not book the dates that they offered and now they want to keep our money on top of it? This airline is a bunch of crooks!

I tried to book online, but it wouldn't complete the purchase. A few days later I booked online ok. Then my credit card statement showed the 1st one went through (got nothing from Allegiant on 1st one, but got same day confirmation on 2nd one). Allegiant initially said their mistake, and would refund the 1st one. They refunded the 2nd one (cheaper)instead and accused me of scamming them by buying an exact duplicate flight that was cheaper. I could not believe the way they treated me, insisting that they "knew" that I did it on purpose. The frontline girls were nice but the "lady" I was referred to wasn't (nice or a lady). My first and last use of Allegiant.

I traveled from Fort Wayne, IN to St. Pete, FL on 1/7/07. I will admit I was skeptical of this airline becuase of all the bad reviews it has on it. But I was acually surprised. The service was great, the pilot was very reasurring and funny. He would keep us up to date on the Ohio State and LSU game, tell us where were at and look out the window. Very comfortable flight. Plane was clean. I would reccommend this airline to anyone that wants to get away or to fly back home to a smaller town without the craziness of a larger airport. The only thing about this airline is the sancks and drinks are for purchase only.

My husband and I have flown from Greensboro, NC to Sanford Florida four time round trip. Our flight experience has been positive each time with efficient check in, minimal delays and courteous personnel. My only complaint after the four round trip excursions was related to a change in policy for golf bag costs. When making the online reservations that have never been a problem I did not see anything notifying customers that there had been a change. When we were checking in we were notified that there was now a $10 dollar charge. It would have been $5 if we had listed it when the other bags were listed and paid for. Quite interesting to be told that if we had done it online the charge would have been less. It was impossible to list when I did not see anything notiflying me of a policy change. You are somewhat nickeled and dimed and sometimes our savings have not been great but overall I have been extremely pleased. Reading some of the other reviews would have made me quite leery about using the airline. If I had had similar experiences I would have been upset also. Hovever, as a frequent flyer with over 300,000 miles due me I can surely tell MANY horror stories over the past 15 years of flying. Maybe we have been lucky but until we have a major problem We will gladly continue with this airline. Try it, you most likely will have a good experience!

I have flown Allegiant from Allentown, Pa to Clearwater/St. Petersburg Florida several times this past summer and fall. I have never had a delay and never had a problem. In fact, on all my flights so far, we arrived slightly earlier than expected. Everything was extremely simple and pleasant. I am a VERY nervous flyer & the airline and staff did nothing whatsoever to make my flight unpleasant; on the contrary, everything was as pleasant as could be. I will agree, tho, that it is not quite as cheap as it makes itself out to be. There are alot of nickle and dimers added, but unless you are flying Southwest or Air Tran when they have a great deal going, it is still less than major carriers. Plus, the convenience of the small airports is pretty significant.

I booked 3 round trip tickets (over $1000) for my parents to travel between 12/2007 and 2/2208. They called us 2 months later saying they will no longer to business with the airport. They gave us 2 options - 1) drive 2 and 1/2 hours to the nearest airport where they are doing business or 2) get a refund. It is late November and booking the same 3 round trip tickets to travel between the time frame with different airlines would cost us over $1400. Allegiant airline said that it was not their problem and did not care. They will not compensate us the difference nor offer any partner flights to lessen the cost (they don't have partners). They say that if we do not decide on which option then the will not do anything for us and take our money. We would forfeit the tickets and money. The manager refused to give me the corporate phone number so I can file a formal complaint and said that they all go to him anyway. What bad business practice.
