The pizza itself is not too bad but the I think the price is a little to high and the delivery takes a little bit to long.

On October 31st, 2006 I ordered two pizzas from the store in Ventura, Ca to take to a party. When I arrived at the party 8 minutes later, we found the pizzas were very skimpy, as far as toppings, and the pizza looked like it had been reheated a couple of times. Some of the people at the party asked if I had purchased it a couple of days ago. I immediately called the store and asked to speak to the manager who,I was told, was not in and he would have him call me back. I Did not hear from him for a three days so I called and left a second message, this time for the district manager who also never responded. I sent two e-mails to the main office and recieved two identical form letters with different response codes which stated that they would look into it and get back to me. I am still waiting to hear from them. I would never eat there again and I make sure I tell everyone I meet this story.

Worse pizza ever! I had some at my nephew's birthday party and thought the pizza was awful. Crust was dry...hardly any cheese or toppings. Very sad. I don't get why they exist.

I love Papa John's Garlic Parmesian Breadsticks! I am a big fan of their hand tossed crust for when I am really hungry and their thin crust is great, but not too filling. The pan crust is not baked in oil in the store so it has less fat than that of it's competitors. I also love their cheese sauce. Now if they would just get some subs and salads in there they would really rock!

Until fairly recently their customer service was terrible, alothough it's the pizza that counts. The sauce and cheese are great, but they can do a little more with the crust. It's not like their crust has been deep fried like Pizza Hut's, at least. The cheese sticks are amazing.

Ugh, the worst of the worst. Just when I thought it couldnt get worse than Domino's, along comes this ... I never understood this phenomena known as Papa John's ... its like putting catsup on some wonder bread and topping it off with fat free mozzarella.

Their sauce is too sweet, and the dough is too heavy. I loved their pizza when I was younger but now it just sits in my stomach like a bunch of bricks.

I have had rather good luck with my local Pappa John's Pizza shop. They supply me with hot fresh product and relatively prompt delivery for a chain shop. About the only pizza better would be made my a couple of mom and pop shops that don't deliver. They are worth walking to some days, mind you. When I'm lazy, Papa John will do in a pinch. :)

Wow. I had Papa John pizza about 18 years ago. It was passable for a chain. Now one opens near us in Marlborough, Ma. We tried 3 pies and some wings. WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE SELLING?? Awful food...I mean tasteless (except the sausage crumbles , which were good, whatever few were on our $14 pie shell). The wings were so bad we threw them away. My 11 year old daughter suggested we bring their takeout menu back...we won't be needed it again.

On Jan. 7,2006,I went to Papa John's to order a pizza in Oxford, Ms. So when I arrived one of the guys was on the phone while the other was making pizza as usually. Well, the guy making asked to take my oder and so I asked for the special as usual. Well he insisted that I pay after the order is fixed so I sat in the store and waited for the pizza to get done. So some other customers came in the store also to wait as well. So there order were fixed so they purchased their food and left. Well the guy brings my pizza up and says your order is ready. So, I handed him my debit card as a mature adult so he could slide the card. So i held my hand out to get it, he threw the card at me. I didn't say anything because I just got off work from working a 12 hour shift. I was tired and hungry and didn't want to cause any problems. Then he goes to the back to get the copy that i needed to sign. Well of course he throws the copies down as well as the pen. He told me which copy to sign. SO I signed the store copy and laid the pen back down. He says have a good night ma'am. I responded you too. I didnt get a attitude with him. I expected to be treated with respect as he was treated with respect. If he came to my place of business, I would never toss anything at him. I would made him feel important and appreciated him for his business. I took my pizza to my car and cried because I felt as if I was treated like trash. No one should ever have to go through that.

Papa John's pizza tastes terrible! Very uninspiring bland sauce that tastes like it came from a can, and the mozzarella cheese is not stringy and fresh. ANY mom and pop 'NY type' pizzeria blows this mass produced crap away! If you like the taste of Papa John's pizza, you haven't tasted superior 'pie'!

I've always liked Papa John's Pizzas far better than the oil soaked Pizza Hut Pizza's. I was thrilled when a Papa John's opened up within the appropriate turnaround distance near work (Southlake, TX). We decieded to give them a try. I placed the order and then left to go pick up the Pizza. Things got off to a very ominous start. The order while correct in the ingredients, was not the right size. The manager immediately offered to cook a fresh pizza while I waited, so I told her to go ahead. While I waited, I was offered the customary free drink for having to wait. Within the promised six minutes, they had a fresh pizza of the proper size boxed up and ready for me to go - free of charge!!! The staff at this store did everything possible to make up for the error in the order. We will be back again.

Tonight, Jan. 1 I ordered Papa's perfect pan with sausage, pepperoni, olives onions and mushrooms as a carryout. I live about 13 miles from PJ"s and they do not deliver out that far. I have never had a problem wtth PJ pizza and it a favorite with my whole family. We pass by 3 other pizza rests. to get there. when I got home with the pizza, my husband son and I dove right in. my husband said, this pizza smells fishy and my son said it tastes funny. we checked and it was covered with anchovies. My son is deathly allergic to seafood. We all panicked so I called PJ's and told the girl what had happened and my son was bringing it back for what we had ordered and gave her my selected toppings again. Anyone can make mistakes but to make such a potential deadly mistake warrents an apology in my book. NOT TO BE HAD!!!! All the girl said was any comments are to be done online. she then replaced the pizza with one that I ASSUME baked earlier in the day. not only was it cold, it was as tough as shoeleather!!! so here is 26 more miles to drive. We decided to forget it and from now on we will get our pizza elsewhere. Jeanette Tucker Rome, ga.

Pizza is crummy, service is worse...

My Wife and myself orderer with Papa Johns online this evening (or as we have begun referring to it lately it Poo Poo John's Incompentance). The order was for a veggi Pizza with two 2 liter bottles of DIET coke NOT regular coke. Order showes up with the pizza all ok but the arrogant little thought he knew it all Smuck brought two 2 liter bottles of regular coke. I told him that was not what I wanted or ordered in the beverage department because of health reasons. He offered to give us $2.00 to make up for the $4.00 goof they made on the screwed up soda order after we told him we could not drink regular. And it clearly showes on the order form I pulled back up later that I HAD placed orders for two 2liter diet cokes. He offered to go back to the store and bring back Diet Coke and I told him since I had already charged all on my Pa Pa Johns card and by the time he went back to the store credited my Pa Pa Johns card and returned, it was not worth it to us as the Pizza would most likely be cold when he returned, and after all this He got a $5.00 gratuity on my Pa Pa Johns card on a $22.27 =/- order. I sent him back with regular Coke and told him to give them to the needed. Because we were tired could not and do not drink Regular Coke and did not want to spent half the evening adjusting the sale. I was so furious I lost my appitite threw the Pizza in the trash. Next I called the store manager, I tell him the story portrays himself as a very arrogant person himself. I tried to explain to him what happened but he was ratteling on as if he did not care or want to listen, he was also very rude, I told him I guess I would be doing all my busuiness with Dominos' Pizza from now on. He then started giving me a smart ass laugh and before I had chance to tell him that is bad business mannars needing improvement as a store Mgr. and I did not appreciate him laughing at my valid complaint over their goofs and there overall smart ass attude toward thier customers he hung up. I called Clark back (the store mgr.) and he started laughing and wound not want to listen to me over a valid issue and hung up again. There was, in this case however, an underminded toung cheak appology that was more sarcastic than any sort of meaningfull appology. I WILL NEVER EAT NOR ADVISW OTHER The store in question is Papa John's 5814 Oleander Dr. Ste. 1, Wilmington, NC store Phone (910)392-3310 I did find that their customer service at headquaeters was very understanding and was trying his best to look into and rectify the situation. . Oh, one other tid bit about the delivery guy. He gave us a dirty smuck head look over somthing that was his fault never really appologized about anything and went tearing out of our driveway, I hope he didn't damage any of the sprinkler heads in the process, beleive you me if that happened, Poo Poo Johns Pizza is going to repair that and any sod damaged not to mention the fack he never really apollogized for the goof about the regular Coke being delivered instead of Diet as is clearly stated on the computer printout it was clearly mentioned in the internet receipt. Now it gets even better when I call the manager of the store to file a complaint, I also followed up with a complaint to their headquarters who was slighyly more concerned than the delivery guy or store Mgr was. The manager at the local store would not talk back to me had no excuses or any real appologizes (did however offer to send the diet coke which gets back to the Pizza is going to be cold by them. He ratteled of a few words and I told him I guess I would take my future business to Dominos. He then comes back with a sh**y chuckle and hung up with out so much as saying we hate to loose your business or we're sorry please give us another chance. In a scence I'm his boss and pay his salary in a small way that can add up quite a bit when bonus time roles around. I called him back informed him that his attitude was very non business like and that in my business If I cought my manager, assistant manager or any other of my employees relating to customers or potential customers in that fashion in my business I would give them about 30 mins to gather up their personal belongings give them any severance pay they might be due and send them out the door.

People, this is seriously decent pizza. It's pretty dang good. I'm not picky. I don't care if it's not from Little Italy. You haven't had bad pizza until you've gone to Australia. I wish I could fly some of you to this Domino's on the Sunshine Coast, the Coolum one. Words can't describe how horrible the pie was. Ok, maybe they can. Imagine ordering a large pizza from America anywhere, hike through the woods for about two days with it in your backpack, put it in the oven for 30 minutes and serve. That's the only way I can think of describing this abomination. That was the worst pizza I'd ever seen in MY LIFE. Papa John's pizza, in my opinion, might as well be what they serve to kings compared to that Aussie pizza. Crap, Domino Farms, the headquarters was near me in Ann Arbor, I should've complained personally...

Can I say that it is crap? Horrid maybe a better word to discribe the food.

The G.M. treats her crew and drivers like crap! She call them at home and "bitches" about the numbers, when in fact she doesnt seem to know how to schedule her labor out over the month, nor can she keep basic supplies in the pipeline, running out of napkins and packaged red peppers or cheese is nuts! PJ's San Diego employes an 18year old manager, who has not got an ounce of sence on how to be serivce oriented, she screams, curses and degrades the crew when things get missed up! Please, get her out of Ocean Beach....and the numbers will go up, the service will go up! Then, stop hiring unexperienced, immmature, naive GM's, and I'll eat at P'J's again!

If you want a good pizza call a local shop. This stuff is just horrible. If you get a 2 for 1 deal they only put one pizza worth of toppings on both. Sprinkle enough MSG on cardboard and it tastes good. Big deal they give you a 15 cent hot pepper. Way too expensive considering a pizza costs them around $2 to make.

I used to work there years ago and I liked the pizza then alot more than now. It just seems they've got slack on their quality and their personnel. Too many teenagers who just dont give a damn. But what do you expect,they dont pay squat. But compared to the other major chains,especially Pizza Hut,their probably the best.

There is no better pizza than Papa John's. In fact, Papa John's was just rated No. 1 in customer satisfaction by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Papa John's not only beat Pizza Hut, Domino's and Little Caesar's, it also beat all the other restaurant chains, like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Taco Bell. For my dollar, you won't find a tastier pizza anywhere else. (I'm getting hungry just writing this review.)

I can't stand that sickning SWEET tomato sause they put on everything.If you like sweet sause pizza then LaRosa's is by far and away the best there is.

Of all the pizza restaurants I've tried, Papa John's has been the best.

Papa Johns Pizza used to be relatively great to order from. Great quality food, decent prices. So, what happened? Seems that the local shops aren't managed like they used to be. Quality has dropped so low that they've removed the 800-number from their website (877-547-7272 if you're interested - check out archive.org and see for yourselves). That number now goes to a box telling people to submit an online complaint form which, as we all know, is shrugged off without a second thought. Problems with our local shops? Numerous. Burnt/raw pizza and sticks, inept staffing, PRICE SWITCHING after the order is taken (confirmed on two separate occasions, the second one was changed BY THE GENERAL MANAGER!), and overall shoddy cooking materials. Plus, the price isn't what it used to be (even with coupons). In conclusion, pass on Papa Johns. You can do better - like throwing a frozen in the oven. My favorite of the chain pizza places, their pizza just tastes so much different than Pizza Hut and Dominoes, like it's more fresh and less greasy. The bread they use is great and the sauce is very tasty.

For a chain pizza joint, this one rocks. Imagine, they actually use cheese rather than uncooked dough in the topping. I can taste every ingredient in the works pizza. The veggies crunch, they are so very fresh. Very consistant. Decent delivery folks, to boot. A huge cut above the other chains in this neck of the woods.

What I love is their cheese sticks and forget about the pizza.

I don't understands what everybody thinks is so great about Papa John's. I mean, it's OK, but it tastes too sweet. I feel like i am eating dessert rather than a savoury dish.

Ever since PJ's came to our area, we have chosen to keep them as our FF (fast food ) pizza place. Delivery is quick, the drivers are nice, and the pizza is fresh and hot when it arrives. They are the top of the list in our family.
