I love this place!! It's something different then the same old damn hamburger. I love the Arby's sauce, and the curly fries are great! I just wish their were more locations. I'ts kind of hard to find an Arby's near you these days.

Of course it is 100% beef, ever heard of the USDA ? I love how people turn into unrational conspiracy theorists when it comes to fast food. Roast beef is typicaly made from tough cheap pieces of beef like Round. It's the slow cooking method that makes it good. So to answer your question, yes , Arby's is taking cheap tough cuts of 100% beef and slow cooking it until it is tender.

I really have to be desparate to eat a shaved plastic sandwich.

I worked at one and I can still eat there. That says alot. SHAKE WARNING: The Jamocha shake mentioned by my noble henchman (?) Mad Hatter causes serious digestive distress. UPDATE: Yeehaw, humorbot. Yee... haw...

I remember seeing a 5 sandwiches for 5 dollars special at Arbys on a road in upstate NY. Must be a quality piece of animal flesh for that price..no?
kissmeback 06/01/2006
i try this once when i was in miami but i didn't like the bread, but the roast was good.
Ih8rateitall 03/19/2006
I don't trust the meat source dudes. I'm not sure if this is all American beef and when I buy food I want to know what animal I'm eating. The meat is so dry, and that's why they serve their sandwiches with bbq sauce.
Sundiszno 01/30/2006
I tried a couple of their Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwiches (a year ago) - not too bad. It beats the hamburgers at McDonalds.
Drummond 01/11/2006
Not bad for a fast food. I'm just not into fast food.

I work part-time at Arby's in Fort Payne, AL and I have to say it is GREAT... Everything is kept very clean, we don't serve anything that we wouldn't be willing to eat ourselves. The fries are always HOT and everything is always fresh. I love working there. I have great fellow employees and a nice work enviorment. The people always come first in our store. And just for the record the roast beefs are not in liquid form or pieces of meat just thrown together it IS an actual roast.

ARBYS LARGE ROAST BEEF IS THE BEST EVER
sfalconer 08/31/2005
Some thing different in the vast pool of burgers, tacos and fried chicken. There Market Fresh sandwiches are very good and the rest of the food is not bad either. The place does not exactly sparkle and the employees are not stellar but great if you looking for something a little different.
SZinHonshu 07/28/2005
A decent occasional change of pace from the usual burgers and chicken fare.

I used to go to Arby's for the roast beef sandwich. One packet of Horsey and one packet of Arby's sauce on either side of the sandwich, plus some potato cakes. Yum..... However last time I ordered a roast beef, I decided that I wanted to remove at least a few slices so I took the sandwich apart. The roast beef slices had this slick iridescent orange film on them. Yikes. The chicken salad sandwich, the one with fruit, is pretty good. So is the new Reuben sandwich, I think I prefer turkey. Potato cakes will always be good dipped in Horsey. 2 for roast beef, 3 or better for other stuff.

of all chain restaurants in the entire world, Arby's is by far the worst. I would not eat there if it was free. The board of health should do some undercover work to see if this garbage is safe for the public to eat.

While visiting the arby's on tates creek road in lexington, ky last night I was sadly disapointed by the lack of service and incredible rudeness of the employees. (I understand that staff are not paid the big bucks, but there is no excuse for the treatment that we received. Before entering, there was an employee outside smoking, she said to be patient when we were inside, they were busy and she was going to take her break no matter what... When we entered, there was one other family in front of us. and a car in the drive through. (not overly busy as I could see..) The other employees were dismaid that this girl was taking a break when she did. Perhaps they were much busier than I could tell, It took over 20 Minutes for us to order and receive (most of) our food. When my father asked if he received a senior discount, they acted like he was stupid for asking. I was truly embarrassed for him!!! For a meal that cost over $28.00 we could have sat down at a non fast-food restaurant and enjoyed a leasurly meal. While we were eating, there were knats flying around us that we had to swat at Then, an employee came out to wash down all of the tables around us. The disinfectant that was sprayed liberally around on all of the tables filled the air. This added to this horrible meal experience. meanwhile, the employee that was on break came in and proceded to read hairy potter in the booth adjacent to us, braging about how she took her break even though she knew how busy they were. I might add that the kids that came in while we were ordering had no trouble asking for and receiving free food from their friend(s) behind the counter (while we were waiting for our order). I would like to add that I am not one to complain or make waves. I waited tables for many years while in college. I do think that you should be made aware of these points. I doubt that anything will be done about this, but I wanted you to be made aware of the situation. Thank you for your consideration Dale Randall 4633 Longbridge Lane Lexington, Kentucky 40515 n.randall@insightbb.com

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, THE BEST ROAST BEEF SANDWICHES OF ANY PLACE. just make sure you dont add that cheese on them, it ruins it, AND YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE CURLY FRIES!!!!!
Racheal Parsons 10/29/2004
The Arby's at Baxter, KY has the worst service and food of any Arby's I have ever visited. Just tonight I waited 11 minutes and when I received my food they had left out my salad, my dink, and an order of cheese sticks. I went back to tell them of the error and the guy was rude. I will never go back to the Arby's in Baxter, but really like the one in Barbousville, KY.
Chalky 10/21/2004
i would rather go on a hunger strike than eat this crap..........gosh, it reminds me of a place george w. bush would go to after binging on alcohol and cocaine before he became 'holy' ;)

I currently work part-time at an Arby's. Our restraunt is kept very clean (I know because I clean daily). The one thing I want to share is if people saw the roast beef before it was cooked they would NEVER buy another roast beef sandwich again!! It is gross! The whole roast is covered in lard and looks like it has individual pieces of meat that have been pressed together. Ugh!! Another problem is they have the fries under warmers way to long. We sell alot of fries that are soggy and not even hot. Have had alot of people complain about them and ask for a new order, can't blame them! The only reason I gave Arby's a good rating is because most of the food is tasty and hot. Would recommend the Chicken Fingers and Roast Chicken Club Sandwich, also the Marketfresh Sandwiches are very good.

LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
frogger20190 09/14/2004
My favorite fast food place--the sandwiches are always fresh, love the potato cakes (worth waiting for--they cook them fresh, and some locations won't charge extra for them). I've been to a few very dirty ones, but that's the manager, not the company's, fault. But I can't give it a 5 star rating because of these dirty locations.
stealthcat 09/02/2004
I love Arby's roast beef. I've been eating them for over 30 years. Love the Horsey sauce, always get the giant beef sandwich. Downsides are the restaurants themselves are pretty low class feeling inside, not always a 'clean' look to them. The drinks are average quality soda fountain, but you can fill them yourself. And, there aren't many Arby's around. Bummer.
gretchenlynn 08/28/2004
Love the Ovenmitt commercials but here in Lima, Ohio he would have to have a cigarette dangling from his lips as the last time I ate there in the very small dining area there were three smokers and two were Arby's employees. Not going again.
Doctor of Madness 08/15/2004
Having eaten at Kelly's at Revere Beach,MA where the roast beef sandwich was invented and where the clowns from Arby's got the idea, I can say this.Arby's roast beef sandwich might as well call itself a ham sandwich. It is really salty, overprocessed, and nasty.
Karate Dude 55 07/31/2004
Very good food! Love the wraps, and the chicken sandwiches! But if you are tring to watch your weight, be careful , theres not much on the menu thats low cal or low fat. Also Atkins deiters beware, one wrap can be almost your daily intake of carbs. If your going for taste? Go for it. If your deiting find a small sandwich or salad and skip the fries.
austinite 07/31/2004
while the food at the Raby's on William Cannon in Austin is fine, the restroom smell would make you lose your lunch. With no paper towels, stench in general and obvious no cleaning of a filthy restroom this to me says much about the general sanitary condition of any restaurant. I won't go back only because with no soap or towels in the restrooms plus filthy restrooms means the employees can not possibly be handling the food in a sanitary manner.
torch 07/19/2004
While I'm sure all Arby's restaurants aren't too bad, the one in Jonesboro, Ar. is the absolute pits! The food out-right sucks and the service leaves practically everything do be desired! I've tried it three different times, and each time was worse than the one before. I refuse to ever enter that particular restaurant ever again!
paleo99 07/12/2004
Overall, Arby's is OK. Their roast beef is of high quality, their market fresh sandwiches are large and tasty, and their chicken sandwiches are great. However, their food is excellent, but too overpriced for a fast food place. As a result, I limit my visits there to 2-3 times a year, mainly because they market themselves as fast food. If they changed their structure and turned into more of a sit down restaurant like dennys, and accepted debit or credit cards, I would definitely go there more often. Their major downside besides price is working there. I don't suggest anybody work there because you have to do everything by hand, and you are busier for a longer time than places like mcdonalds.

i never ate here but it looks ok.
pikachan 07/10/2004
a 4.5. good sandwhiches and tasty chicken, too. I LOVE the curly fries and drinks. reccommended.
ClassicTVFan47 07/10/2004
Arby's is another superb restuarant chain. This one has awesome chicken fingers, great curly fries, high-quality sauces, well-mixed fountain drinks and more. Service is great and even though prices are slightly higher than something like McDonalds, it's worth the extra dollar. Only avoid the Arby-Q, which is made from the extra shavings of the roast beef. Internal designs are good, and they often play oldies music inside. Lately, their ads--involving the Oven Mitt--have been great as they show QSRs (Quick-Service Restaurants) can be just as good (and oft times better, than sit-down dining chains.
BugahaNE 07/08/2004
The sandwiches and curly fries or potato cakes are always tasty and well-made. The locations I frequent have friendly hard-working employees and the restaurant is spotless.
jgls 07/05/2004
most of the food i don't care for, but i give 4 stars for what i always order; a giant, large banana shake and curly fries. yum.
bbutler76 06/30/2004
The wraps are the best. the rest of the food is mediocre at best. Those damn commercials with the oven mit have to go. Overpriced fast food with very few items that are worth a second look. This place would get 1 star if it weren't for the wraps.
tatef87 06/11/2004
very dirty, but good food
Contax 04/22/2004
Dirty restaurants, horrible food, (anyone else make the mistake of trying that rotton pot-roast sandwich?), combined with the worst service in the world makes a single star seem generous. This is a shame. Years ago, I really liked Arby's. Their beef isn't half bad. Unfortunately, one trip to the franchise on Green Bay Road in N. Chicago, IL will sour you forever.
