Currently, there is no actor better equipped all around, a Spencer Tracy for today. Perhaps it is precisely his consumate versatility that makes us less aware of his accomplishments than is the case with those of his contemporaries. Best MOVIE? No fair. Best movies, more like: The Conversation; The French Connection; Hoosiers; Night Moves; The Royal Tenenbaums; Twilight.

Like tan slacks and Jell-O, Hackman simply goes with everything. My favorite role is the FBI agent in "Mississippi Burning" a great film - but almost entirely historically inaccurate in its portrayal of the 'good guys FBI style'. . .
