Started a bin when we moved in. Still have yet to do anything with all the crap I've thrown in there.

I don't rake leaves, mow lawns or garden anymore.

My wife and I try to compost a good amount of our food waste. Most of our uneaten fruits and vegetables and some grass clippings go into our small compost bin. I'd like to get another bin and become a little more into composting. It really isn't a hard thing to do, and we have a yard this is big enough to keep any smell away from where we sit outside.

When I was a kid on the farm, sure. But not exactly achievable when you live in an apartment.

I live in a city. This doesn't seem to be particularly relevant to me.

When I owned a house and gardened I did this with some diligence, but living in an apartment it is impractical and difficult.
Incidentally, composters need not smell, as long as a few basic rules are followed. At most they should smell like wet earth or damp leaves.

Well worth the effort.Your garden will prosper like never before! There is NO SUBSTITUTE.No chemical concoction or so-called "fertilizer" even comes close! Especially if you EAT what you're growing...you will "taste" the rewards!

Probably not a good idea when living close to neighbors (I'm sure they'll LOVE the smell). If I had lots of land, maybe it wouldn't be too bad.

Used to do this but it doesn't really work where we are now.
