Once, Wendy's was my favorite fast-food burger stop. Unfortunately, since the death of Dave Thomas the company seems to be rudderless. The new products are always disappointing, the prices are inflating and the overall experience has deteriorated. To demonstrate how I feel about Wendy's now, I have visited their restaurants once in 2008 and have not even thought about trying the new breakfast menu.

They used to be GREAT but then their buns changed and started to screw up orders more...
Victor571 04/24/2008
i give a 4 i always like burgers. Their unhealthy doe! But i dont get fat =]
Blorf 04/21/2008
Agree with the other raters who put Wendy's near the top of the list. Service and cleanliness can be uneven depending on location, but the chow is consistently good.

I'd give it 5 stars, but I used to eat there a lot and got a little tired of it.
gemnii52271 04/14/2008
They always have an attitude. They are rushing you out of the drive-thru. For some reason, they act like it comes out of their pension if you ask for mayonaise in a cup.
myspace-79570520 04/10/2008
wendy rocks my socks =)
Vudija 04/01/2008
Love their burgers, but there are only 2 Wendy's in town and neither is within a good riving distance.
CzechMate 03/30/2008
Love their chicken sandwiches, but not so keen on their burgers.
GenghisTheHun 03/23/2008
This is about the best of the fast food chains that sell on a national basis.
sunsetts 03/23/2008
For a fast food, Wendy's is decent enough. I love there Fries. God bless.

i hate wendys, every time they seem to undercook their food. burgers and fries are always so soggy. its terrible
gil3 03/03/2008
I used to enjoy Wendy's, but as mentiond, since Mr. Thomas passed away, the service and food quality has deteriorated rapidly. In fact, I won't even go to Wendy's any more, even though i loved this place as a kid. Unless the company makes some drastic changes, including paying it's employees better, then I may go back.
MissPackRat4Je sus 02/23/2008
I don't think their food is the worst, but I've certainly tasted better.
trebon1038 02/17/2008
I like the big bacon classic....they have good chili too. They have a good choice of sides, they were the first to pretty much offer something other than fries. Im not big on their fries, but they have other choices. Around us the drive-thru never get the order right so I go in to order or eat in.
Automatt 02/07/2008
The burgers here are square, but good. Nice thick fries, too. This chain is my second choice if there is no In-N-Out Burger available.
Iwoot 02/06/2008
Mmm its so good!!! fair prices! and nice restaurants!
meg10222 01/13/2008
Quick service and good prices. I eat here very often.

CoCat 10/23/2007
I really like Wendy's and eat there often. But, my most recent visit was very disappointing. I ordered the Southwest Taco Salad. I got to the window only to be told as they handed the bag to me (by the top, I might mention and not the salad bag) that they didn't have any chili, would I like something else? I was so taken aback that I just said "no" and drove off. How can they have run out of chili, and how can they even consider selling a Taco Salad without the chili?
Redrum99 10/21/2007
Like the fries and chicken nuggets. Burgers are dry and bread is usually hard. But Wendy's fried. I love covering those things in salt
dothanbama 10/21/2007
Salads as of late are whats most popular with them, but even they are going downhill in quality with hard thick iceberg lettuce, and for $6 for a salad, I had better get premium romaine. 99 cent menu also not 99 cents anymore on anything with meat or milk in it. Hit and miss on quality. Most in and all around Dothan are very dirty with poor service, but exception is Chipley Florida off I-10.. service is second to none and very clean.
HondaRider91 09/26/2007
Get the classic triple with large fries and large coke. Sadly though, most, if not all Wendy's in the St. Louis, MO area are closed but are supposed to reopen soon.
93century 08/15/2007
I like Wendys once in awhile, but some of the employees that work at the register at times are dumb as stumps! One particular establishment screwed up my order numourus times. Thank god they built a new restraunt by the airport!
Astromike 08/11/2007
One of my fav burger joints!! Those square hamburgers just taste so GOOD! Their fries, chicken nuggets and salads aren't bad either. They have the best .99 cent menu around too!! Although I would stay away from the Triple Cheese Burger (it's very greasy). For health reasons lol.
moneyman76 07/21/2007
I rather jump a cliff then eat wendys

With Wendy's, it depends on which location you choose to eat in. The good locations are usually company owned, there you will usually have competent staff, great food, and a good fast food dining experience. My "beef" is with mainly the franchise owned locations. Experiences can vary, but here on Long Island you're greeted with staff that often have poor knowledge of the english, many of which I suspect are illegal immigrants. As a result, if they get your order right, your food is served cold or luke-warm at best. They often skimp on fries portions as well as oversalt them.
The chain has gone significant downhill since Dave passed away, but if you're lucky enough to find a location that doesn't hire illegal immigrants, your hamburger will still be fresh tasting and hot and your fries will be hot and just lightly salted. But unfortunately most of the franchise Wendy's now hire these non-english speaking people. Sitting in Wendy's eating a stale tasting hamburger, with oversalted skimpy fry portion, and having to listen to employees yelling in spanish to eachother is definately not an enjoyable experience.
Wendy's needs to make sure these franchises get their act together or be booted from the chain. The worst Wendys is the one on Glen Cove road in Greenvale,NY, fries always cold, food all over the floor, and not one employee who is a US citizen! I stopped going to that one years ago.
Skinnydude 06/21/2007
As far as chains go ....WENDYs is definitely one of the better burger joints and it offers quite a few menu options other than its burger. The valu menu items are great and u cant beat them . The frosty is a unique item and i love those in the summer. People who frequent the fast food arenas can do alot worst than wendys cause its pretty darn good.

The Wendy's on Peachtree in Mesquite, Texas has horrible service and management does not seem to care. The ceasar salad was horrible with wilted lettuce. I returned it for another one with the same problem. I will not be back.
BlessedBeSiame se 05/30/2007
There is a comment in here somewhere from a manager that said Wendy's was going to crap when Dave died and I now believe that, because everytime I go it seems the product is skimpy and crappier than the last time. new addition made on 5/30/07In our city it depends on which Wendy's you go to. If you go to the one on P. Ave you get all the halfway house workers who could care less about the job even if it did pay half way decent, but if you go to the one on Lex. Springmill which is by all the malls and such the workers are very nice and the food if always good and accurate.
Yogurt 05/22/2007
I used to like Wendy's but they've gone downhill. Had to throw away my Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger the other day because it just seemed kind of sketchy
XAgent 05/19/2007
The food isn't that bad, I like it a little more than McDonald's.
Blergh 05/18/2007
I think Wendy is a complete bitch. I remember when I was a little child, I used to have a hamburger each day of my life. Sweet, sweet hamburgers! ='). I hated them!
PixarFan2007 05/17/2007
I like eating at Wendy's on occasion. It's not the best fast food restaurant but not bad either. Their chicken nuggets can be tasty and their burgers are good too. Their fries are okay too.
dorkstersrus 03/14/2007
I rate them at zero (0) stars. In 1969 when they first started their burgers were made from real beef and were outstanding. Today those burgers they sell now taste like dog food. You couldn't pay me to eat that garbage now. And that's all I have to say on the matter!!!
DamnitBobby 02/07/2007
Horrible service, poor food quality. Odessa, Texas This place sucks since Dave died. Last time I went into Wendy's 3 days ago they laughed at me because I was there to pick up my order. ( And no I didn't crack any jokes!)
GreggOrange 01/21/2007
Eh, gimme a double all the way and a chocolate Frostie. Stay away from the baked potatoes and stay away from the chili unless you want to camp out in the john later.
fk1561 12/03/2006
My co-workers and I decided to have Wendy's for lunch and ordered chicken sandwhiches. First time around they were very good. Went again a few days later and ordered chicken sandwhiches and OMG...hard dry and nasty to say the least. Our order was short ome cold greasy french fries and we went back to get the fries ut made one mistake. We should have taken those sandwhiches back to them and let the manager that took the order eat his own food. I guess good food is out of the question when the manager serves you day old food!

I am a minor employed with a wendy's franchise. Im a high school senior and am already in management. I have worked for 3 different Wendy's, and have been with the company for a little bit over a year. The first location I worked at closed and I transfered to another nearby Wendy's where I was promoted to crew leader. I am very close with my bosses but the owner of our store and the people of which my bosses work for are very harsh, I am in management and only make $5.85 and hour, which I have been promised aproximatley four raises, one for transferring(which I did aquire), one for my promotion(which I never recieved), one for my 3 month evaluation(which I have yet to recieve) but the owner of the store tells us we will aquire this raise in Janurary, because of minimum wage raising in Kentucky, problem is I have put extensive research into this and have found no evidence of a hike in the minimum wage in kentucky, unless they are speaking of the hike across the bridge from us in ohio. We do work hard, most of us are students and have more important things to do then waste our life carrying that much about Wendys. I do care about my job, but I and many of my co workers plan on going to college and actually make something of ourselves. Excuse my french, but I believe that if employees of wendys were actually paid a decent wage this company would probably be operated much better, the employees are the most important part of the company, we make this company, so I believe we should get fair treatment. On the contrary, I do believe this company does have a lot to offer you if you want to spend years with it and possible be paid to make it into the corprate office. Howevor, the crew is paid $5.15 and hour and the managers are not paid much more. Me and my boss of which I have been with for years are both considering going to the corprate wendys store, where we will be paid much better. You may ask why would I stay with this company, for the simple fact I have a social life there, I have met so many great friends with my time at Wendys even though it has been a rough couple months with the company I have fun every once in a while. Most the people are around my age or just a couple years older. However I do hate working with the "by the book" older managers who have nothing better to do with their life then work at wendys, but most my bosses are in their early 20s and have better plans for their life.

Very little "bang" for your buck.Avoid Chain Restaraunts and Support Mom & Pop ones-where you're more likely to be served by someone who actually gives a hoot!

I have worked for Wendy's on and off since 1986 and my current position is in management (2006). I have worked at about 10 different stores both corporate and franchise owned. Wendy's is no longer what it used to be and HAS gone down hill since Dave Thomas died. In the latter years of Dave's life his involvement with the company was minimal but, still somewhat effective. After he died his influence on decision making in the company was completely gone and soon many changes were made that would not have happened when he was alive. What has changed since 1986? The buns we use are now frozen not fresh and they used to be toasted with butter/griddle toasting oil, now they are microwaved. The meat patties used to be seasoned now we just use salt and the meat is too lean so it doesn't cook up with much flavor. Our hamburgers taste nothing like they used to. Most of our food is very bland and the original focus of Wendy's (the hamburger) has been completely changed. Some of the food is "fresh" meaning that parts of your order are made as you are ordering it but all cooked items are held for a period of time in order to meet demand. It's a system in which the quality and consistency of the food depends totally on the restaurant you go to and how competent the staff is. Many wonder why our french fries are so bad, it's simple, they only have a hold time of seven minutes and because of our service time parameters and food projection for anticipated sales they often get served past their hold time to avoid increased food cost. Inadequate training also plays a part in bad service and food quality and our training system is completely out-of-date almost to the point of being useless. Training and administrative time allowances for what have become poorly/understaffed stores are a total disgrace. Wendy's does not drug test employees or use backround checks and considering Fast-Food is already at the bottom of the employment pool we tend to get all of the drug addicts and criminals in the area applying.... in fact that's the majority of what we get. Wendy's is also one of the lowest paying chains for management in the industry so you can see that the quality of staff in stores is atrocious. Publicly Wendy's promotes customer service and quality food but, behind the lines and in the office the bottom line is what counts. Service times, administrative duties, merchandising placement, labor concerns, etc. are important but, not at the expense of quality and service. Severe time management problems, inadequate staffing and misplaced priorities give the customer a mediocre expirience at best. Wendy's spends a hoard of money on advertising and promotion that desperately needs to go to improving training, operations, and food quality. Dave Thomas started Wendy's for ONE REASON.... BETTER FOOD! He wanted to raise the level of the fast food expirience. Now Wendy's is just another food chain and one in desperate need of reorganization.

I really don't like Wendy's food.
jimorama 06/09/2006
I'd rather feed my Labrador retriever a swines ear over a Wendy's piece of greasy mystery meat.
digitalmaxx 06/04/2006
Good food, terrible people! I always liked the quality of Wendy's food over most other fast food places, but they always have the rudest people working there. The Wendy's in my area now close at 4:30 PM! What happened to "Eat Great Even Late?" What really got me though was one day when I waited in line and finally got to the speaker the person rudely told me "we're closed!" Never again, Wendy's!
kissmeback 06/01/2006
the food is good they just need to take their time fixing it right.
SoCalNative 05/31/2006
Grilled chicken sandwich and chili are the best items
badbearduke 05/21/2006
Of all the national big three: McD's, Bk, and Wendys, this is the one gets my vote hands down! Wendys has always stayed consistant with their food, and service. I was worried though when Dave Thomas passed away that the corporate scamps would move in and ruin his company. So far, I haven't seen that, KNOCK ON WOOD!
