They are too sweet to eat for breakfast (unless you need a sugar rush). They are too messy to eat anywhere but at home (because the icing flakes on beacuse there is too much). They do, however, offer very good deals on a regular basis, which kind of makes up for the rest!
LADYBLACKPEARL 01/16/2006
THEYRE OK, BUT I F\DO THINK PEOPLE IN MY AREA (NYC) OVERRATE THEM ENTIRELY, THEYRE TOO SWEET TO EAT MORE THAN ONE AND A HALF, UNLESS U WANNA DEVELOPE DIABETES OR SOMETHING. PEOPLE AROUND HERE ARE ADDICTED TO EM AS IF THERE'S CRACK IN THEM LOL, I DONT UNDERSTAND IT. IT DOES NOTHING SPECIAL FOR MY TASTEBUDS AT ALL.
cdoc77 01/03/2006
I truly don't understand how a product could be so overrated. People from the South are particularly proud of Krispy Kreme donuts, but I have no idea why. Maybe its a southern thing. They are way too sweet with too much glaze on them, and they're expensive. If you ever visit Lawrence, KS, you've got to try Joe's Donuts. Now that's a donut!
OutsideBlitz 12/13/2005
I'm sorry, but I gave it more than one chance and I just haven't liked Krispy Kreme. The donuts are too sweet and they put too much glaze on them. The only thing I like about it is that you can get a free Krispy Kreme workers hat, and you can see the machines make donuts. My favorite donuts are cake donuts, but if I'm going to buy some from a donut shop, then I'll go to Ducan Donuts; much less sugary and alot less glaze.

Nectar of the bakery.
Cindyo 10/28/2005
Donuts are not my favorite thing, but Krispy Kreme has a good distinct taste that surpasses other donuts. It also melts to your tongue as it feels as if it just came out of the oven. I could not eat too many in one sitting, because they are so sugary, but I recommend them. It is interesting that this company has not spent a dime on their advertising! It has all been by word-of-mouth!
diamond lil 10/14/2005
krispy Kreme are "filthy donuts", really not intended for human consumption, all that trans fat lurking in it. Dunkin Donuts is a classy product, tasty, civilized, not trashy.
dert 10/13/2005
im not that fat. realy.
defbean 08/31/2005
Good chain of donuts with good coffee. The only complaints I have is that the stores are sparce and the closing time of the shops are too early (10 P.M.). However the glazed donuts are delicious and the employees are kind. They even take the liberty of not selling you an item if it isn't fresh enough or they give it to you for free. We need more franchises.
sfalconer 08/31/2005
They are good donuts but they are not all they are made out to be. Also they are expensive compared to other shops.
Asbestos 08/29/2005
Yo! WTF is up with all this kwispy kweem. Have you people never had a real bakery do-nut before. It is not all that much as dognuts go the glased is so so but they are far to sweet. the sweetness needs to be balanced with the doughyness and the greasyness.
AvalonMan96 08/29/2005
I'm not that much of a donut eater (maybe once or twice per year at parties and such), but the first time I had a Krispy Kreme glazed donut, I thought it was pretty good (better than the overpriced/hyped Masshole based Dunkin Donuts), but nothing to warrant the hype it received. When the first store in Connecticut opened in Newington, the drivethru lines were incredibly long, so long that city cops and KK employees had to direct traffic! I figured with a long line and wait, KK donuts are something special. When I received the donuts and tried one, I felt it was good but certainly not worth my 20-30 minute wait in the drivethru line sucking exhaust from other cars. Nowadays when you go by that Krispy Kreme on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT, the place practically looks closed for but a few cars in the lot, but remains open for business. I do not like to eat donuts that much due to the copius amount of sugar used on them. I find it funny all the posts saying donuts are not healthy to eat and contribute to an expanding waistline, well no sh!t, Captain Obvious! And it's not like KK is the only donut chain with overly calorious donuts. Even Dumbkin Dumbnuts stale donuts are high in calories, but with Krispy Kreme you at least have taste! Now whenever I have to get donuts for a party, I will most certainly pass by all the DDs on my way to the local KK and pick up a dozen (of which I have like one or two), and since nobody goes there anymore, my wait in line is 2-3 minutes max.
Rushboy 08/27/2005
These donuts are so good you wont believe it you must try them !
PlanetaryGear 08/24/2005
I am not equipped with the vocabulary required to describe the unaldulturated bliss I get from eating one their carmel covered and creme filled delights.
AndrewScott 08/22/2005
I'll take 'Carbs My Butt Doesnt Need' for $1000, Alex. ... The Jeopardy answer is: It's been known to make people want to dig up the bones of that Atkins guy, and punch him out. ... What is living near a Krispy Kreme drive-thru?
SZinHonshu 07/27/2005
Too sugary. Winchells is or one of the Cambodian run joints that are omnipresent in SoCal is/are better.
Mr Evangel 06/30/2005
I love the lemmom filled donuts!! Yeah it's safe to say I like this place!
sarahsonic 06/29/2005
I've had better at local shops but for a chain this is the best.
jjredickkillst heterp 06/24/2005
dunkin aint got squat on kk
lucasboy 06/16/2005
I'm not a fan of krispy kreme donuts. I get much tastier donuts at my local donut shop and there cheaper.
kingguiness 06/13/2005
They are not around my area but some stores carry the donuts. I have to say they are tasty.
ck_22_06 05/24/2005
i could eat hundreds....love my ferrari of a metabolism
Wid71 05/21/2005
Their glazed donuts are extremely good. Good enough to earn them 4 stars. I'm not really crazy about the other donuts they have.
Molfan 05/21/2005
We finally got a Krispy Kreme in our area. I went this week and bought an assortment box 12 donuts. we found the donuts to be good. We would even go back now and then for more as a treat. they do not stand out as anything that special. They are just donuts like you would get at Dunkin Doughnuts, or our local Quality Dairy. A bit pricey too at $5.99 A Dozen.they have a nice variety to choose from.
Sydney2 05/07/2005
How can you hate Krispy Kreme? I love their doughnuts. I just don't buy them as much as I used to because they make my face break out from all the sugar...lol.
texasyankee 05/01/2005
EWWWWW!My arteries are clogging just thinking about it.The south has some delicious donuts, by private donut people. No need to go to a chain place!
Belamy Road 04/10/2005
mmm...donuts. a must have if these two things are true: 1)you live down south 2)you have a death wish
nhhcguy1977 03/31/2005
I don't see what everyone makes sucha big friggin deal about. Honey Dew is a much better donut chain. Screw Krispy Kreme
Djahuti 03/01/2005
WAY too sweet.
caphillsea77 02/27/2005
It's a doughnut, nothing special except more suger.
Mooselover 02/18/2005
Whether it's a fast food chain is questionable but one thing is for sure. This place has the best donuts of all time.
Specialboothvi cJr. 02/12/2005
Great doughnuts. I love them because they are so mouthwatering and thye have great icing on them. I take off a star because they should make more KK restaraunts.
Sharose 02/08/2005
I really don't like these donuts, they're way too sugary and they leave a strange after-taste! Yuck
Rick Winters 02/06/2005
Sure they make some pretty damn good donuts -- but do we really need them? I mean, aren't we fat anough America? I guess I got sucked into the Krispy Cream thing when they first came about -- waiting in longs lines and watching the donuts be made -- getting all jazzed when I saw the 1950s style sign....then, like a new girlfriend or car, the thrill wore off. Now I could care less. Plus, their donuts are everywhere -- some corner gas stations are carrying them now -- hardly fresh!!! Krispy Kreme is probably destined for oblivion in our low-carb push in the 21st century -- although -- who knows...we like out crappy food in America -- I mean, why else would all the other fast-food chains survive?
midwesterner19 01/31/2005
A very good donut. The prices are high, 65 cents a donut. I really like the glazed donuts when they come out the oven, they melt in your mouth.
Skizero 12/29/2004
don't like them. sugary goo for Joe and Joanne Worker to get all hot and bothered about. the only thing good about that joint is you can occassionally get a free doughnut. i get in their line, get the dougnut, and leave. you good god-fearing, law bidding folks can have your sugary sludge.
Uberdweeb 12/29/2004
Sure they're fattening, but they're so sugary and heavy that you're full before you even finish one of them.
Contax 11/30/2004
Wondered what all the hoopla was about. Afterall, it's just a doughnut store. After that glazed literally melted in my mouth, I understood. Downgraded one star for small doughnuts at a big price.
VisionDude8 11/12/2004
While you're waiting in line, it's cool to watch them go up, and down... and up and down... and up.... and down......
wetsack 11/08/2004
The coffee sucks!!!!
surisisi 11/08/2004
lets face it. chris rock is right. they must put crack in these things
swangmaster8 10/22/2004
All they have is donuts and coffee thats all not enough to fill me up.
IHAVESEENTHEFU TURE 09/24/2004
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM DONUTS! AS THE GREAT NAZERETH SANG LOVE HURTS. DAMN THOSE DELICIOUS, TANTILIZING, MELT-IN-MOUTH, ROUND ARTERY GRENADES!!!! MUST EAT 1 MORE, BU-BYE!
mommyofsix 09/22/2004
These donuts are to die for!! Also, their coffee is wonderful if you like it hot and strong! Highly recommend.
LanceRoxas 09/17/2004
So so good. But so sweet you can normally just eat one.
stealthcat 09/02/2004
Most disgusting donuts on the planet. Limp, greasy, way too sweet. I don't understand how anyone likes them. To be sure - I am a major donut/pastry eater. These things suck big time. I'd go in the supermarket and buy packaged Hostess donuts before KK. Yuck!
numbah16tdhaha 08/25/2004
Kicks the competition in the sweet tooth. UPDATE: We could find out that they added crack to these things and we would understand (credit to Chris Rock).
CaptainCrunch 08/04/2004
Yum yum. Well, I'm kind of a donut freak... But Krispy Kremes are good. Never jelly-filled, though. I don't have them very often because we don't have a Krispy Kreme in town. We get them from fundraisers, but I'd guess they're better fresh.
crazybeautiful 08/02/2004
Just gross. I don't understand everyone's fixation with Krispy Kreme donuts. Now they're making Krispy Kreme donut drinks... this madness needs to stop! I'm sure they are putting addictives in these things.
