Shameless rat-bastards. They only opposed the war because it jeopardized some of their mideast oil priveleges.

Hooray for France. They are the true friend who tells Bush what he needs to hear, not a yes-man lapdog. They will be proved right, and arrogance and stupidity will be our legacy.
twinmom101 06/17/2003
France is not the enemy, nor do the French people, who are friendly and hospitable (I know, I've been there!) deserve the rude, ignorant comments that are posted here. In light of the post-war chaos in Iraq and the lack of WMD, I believe the French were right all along- we had no business going to Iraq for the sake of stopping terrorism. As far as the real war on terrorism, France has been top-notch. The French intelligence has consistently rooted out terrorists, most recently Christain Ganczarski, an Al-Qaeda operative from Germany who was arrested June 2 in after returning to Paris. France will prove itself to be a real ally in the war on terrorism with time, and all the fools who revealed their stupidity with their comments on this site will have found a new scapegoat to blame their fears on I'm sure.

France is truly a beautiful site. The people are friendly and the food is good. The beaches are beautiful and there are plenty of beautiful shops.
rogerstanton 06/03/2003
The French do not understand that for their nation to gain international respect as a world power it first has to become a world power. This means having a large economy strong enough to support a well equipped, skilled and highly motivated military that can rapidly deploy massive firepower and logistical support anywhere on the globe. A country does not become a world power because of it’s history or it’s culture or it’s cuisine or the philosophy of it’s leaders, it occurs after a country has the ability to project it’s diplomatic, economic and military might wherever needed AND THEN other countries listen to what it has to say because it’s words are backed by something more than words themselves. The French are rather self-absorbed and see things differently, which is precisely why their nation became completely irrelevant.
entranger 05/26/2003
What the hell are you talking about? Racist scum. How dare you sit there and criticise a country just because the President doesn't support the moron sitting in the White House. All you criticising France - open your eyes and you'll see that you are bigoted, prejudiced and racist. And really stupid. And, by the way, you didn't 'fight for' France in 1944...you went off to war like good little boys and supported the imperialist warlords that started WW2...a bit like now, for example. You can't just write off French people just like that. It would be like me saying that everyone in America was a stupid, arrogant, ignorant, bigoted redneck.
TheBlueWyvern 05/26/2003
Paris - absolutely filthy. The people - obnoxiously rude. The food - wonderful. Overall, the country stinks (and I thought this long before the recent war). Don't waste your time, energy or money...go to the UK instead, or even the Czech Republic...beautiful country, it's capital of Prague is simply magnificent and is the only major eastern european city to escape any damage during WWII.
BugahaNE 05/26/2003
First of all I take offense to calling all people who dislike France a hick or redneck. I have a Masters degree in engineering and I dislike them. It's called having an opinion. There is still free speech in America despite the efforts of you select few who want to see that abolished. My feelings have nothing to do with the Iraq situation, I actually respect the French for their stand to a degree. I just do not like their arrogance, and yes it is there, I find it silly. Pardon me for not using a more intelligent word for all you geniouses on here, I find them also to be creepy. Little things....American cyclist Lance Armstrong "who survived and fought against cancer", being booed in a race in France. The French judge in the Winter Olympics who was bribed and changed her vote, which caused a far superior Canadian team to lose.. and lastly the desecration of American servicemans' graves in France, now that may be one of the sickest things done. Yes I know that was done by a select few and does not reflect the whole country. I have a French friend, a professor at our university here, who agrees with me. Even other Europeans dislike them. Please give me one contribution this country has given to the world in the last 100 years? And again I do not hate them, I just find them irrelevent. You have the British who are stubborn, funny, survivors. The Germans are strong, intelligent, hard-workers. The Italians... passionate, friendly, fun. Then you have the French....who are....how can I say..French.

paris is the most beatiful city in the world.french people are civilized and generous.i dont understand why france is in this place.i suppose because of the americans's votes.i can't think smth more silly than this.

Except for the people, it's a nice place.
KoenSchepens 04/30/2003
The fact that someone doesn't support the US doesn't mean it's a bad country. You Americans have to learn to look further than just your own country. Your country isn't the best and greatest in the world. I'm not saying France is but please take a look around. You Americans think you are undafeatable which could turn out to be an illusion someday when they kicked it this far that the whole world is against the US. Which probably won't take that long anymore.
samson42284 04/30/2003
for all you people out there who hate france because of their decision to stay out of the war.....SHUT UP! they don't stink that is just a stereo type. some of these opinions are so immature. in a few decades people wont even remember this so just forgive them and get over it. the only reason they do not like the u.s. is because they are jealous.
Ramses II 04/30/2003
Viva la surrender. The truth is the people of France are controlled by their socialist government, which forces them to smell like cheese. French women are recognized around the world for their enchanting braided armpit hair.
reeny 04/29/2003
I have never been to France and I would still like to go there someday. I have heard that it is a beautiful country and that Paris is a pretty lively city. I am not going to let France's decision to stay out of this war keep me from visiting this country. That would be ridiculous.
Solenoid DH 04/29/2003
I studied the French language for 4 years and had always hoped to visit France one day. But if they really don't like Americans, I'll visit somewhere else.
snow-buhny 04/28/2003
sacra bleu !!!! mon dui!!!! freedom fries muahahahaaha i just call them fries. poor france just cuz of the war and that they have american attitudes. my dad went to america and they gave him SMALL PANCAKES!!!! now we dont do that in canada, EQUAL shares of pancakes for everyone, damn nationalists.
niehausapprais er 04/26/2003
Bonsoir, Hitler! Why, come on in, we will bend over for you, mon ami! And we will call the Americans to bail us out! And when they ask us for fly-over rights to bomb a dictator in Libya, we will thumb our noses, and then we will sell them WATER! HA HA! Only the Americans will buy WATER! Tres bien! Those stupid Americans will never stop buying our products, even after we try to stop them from killing our ami Saddam! Oh, MERDE! We f'd up!
RESIAKG@PRODIG Y.NET 04/25/2003
Over 50,000 US soldiers are buried in France from defending their nation in WW1 and WW2. No memory of history on their part and no gratitude based on the recent desecration of the WW graves. They are SWINE!
BIGBABY 04/25/2003
Its bad that a former friend that once the closest ally of the US has become a terrible nation. There in NATO yet they wont support protecting another member of NATO? They wont support the Iraqi war, either. And I'm sitting here, asking myself, why the hell did we fight for these guys in 1944?
mochi22 04/25/2003
I'd rather give it 5 piles of doggy doodoo. I'm boycotting everything from this froggy pay. Anyone who believes that this culture has contributed ANYTHING to the world is drunking on it's stinking sparkling wine. Never will set foot on it's soil. Germany deserves france as a neighbor.
beerbeast 04/25/2003
Freedom Fries! Boycott anything from France! Take back traitor Susan Sarandon & her lapdog Tim Robbins. USA best country in the world! Love it or leave it!
gmanod 04/24/2003
Terrific country. Whatever you do don't listen to the rednecks and other assorted uneducated people who try to trash France. They are only scared of what they can't understand, it's sad really. They sit there with their freedom fries wishing the world wasn't such a scary place. Sob....sob
mcspongeicus 04/23/2003
Ive been in the south west and its beautiful, i stayed in a small town called Biscarosse about 10km outside Bordeaux on a studen t exchange about 10 years ago. The people were actually really nice, beautiful forests a nice lake and the food was good even though I was a complaining teenager. I could live there.
forgotten hero 03/27/2003
A country filled with smelly, arrogant, back-stabbing, snail-eating, cowards with absurd mustaches and unusual amounts of body hair, who have contributed nothing to today's society except for Pepe Le Pew the horny skunk. These people were supposed to be our allies. We've saved their sorry asses on countless occasions and they can't even show us the slightest bit of support. And what's worse is that they try to convince other nations to betray us. Well, I say screw 'em. We need France as an ally about as much as we need Sadam Hussein.
Teaseress 01/02/2003
France is an absolutely wonderful country. Paris is a must as its seeped in history and has absolutely gorgeous buildings and there's loads to do. And for all the people who have rated this country badly. You narrowminded, conceited b*****ds. When people slag America off, you are up in arms about it - what gives you the right to do that to another country? Have you actually been there to judge? If you haven't, then actually go there and open up your minds and then you will see that there is a lot of great things in France.
Bulldog98 10/24/2002
I simply cannot spew enough contempt for this vile little near-second-world nation. These mealy, whiny, snail-eating, surrender-happy, ungrateful, unhygenic bastards carry themselves with such unearned arrogance that it is enough to turn the stomach. They need to get it through their effeminite little berets that their "glory days" are WELL in the past and will never return. Here's an update, france...Cowardice, rudeness, back-stabbing, and moral relativism do not make for a good, much less great, nation!!! While I haven't been to the country-side area of france (which I have been told is populated by surprisingly friendly people), Paris is a malodorous cess-pool of human rudeness as are the other "tourist" areas. While the riviera is admittedly pretty, it is unfortunately crawling with french people who ruin the atmosphere of the area. Overall, the nation of france is a steaming turd unworthy of sharing a waterway with England. America should have let the Germans keep it.
swanoak 03/18/2002
Paris is a beautiful but expensive city. People will refuse to speak english even though they know english. Someday I will go back there is so much to do and see.
abichara 03/14/2002
I think that the French really do get a bad rap from people in America. The only thing that stinks about France is it's government. It is a composed of a bunch of socialist crooks intent on squandering the taxpayers money. Even the French are disillusioned with their system. The French are actually very nice people who really love America. Their is a competitive edge to our relationship, since our history mirrors theirs a lot, but its all in good faith. They have a very nice country with great food and wine. The countryside is beautiful, when you go to France, you have to see Provence. Paris is beautiful, especially at night. Overall, France has great attraction and very warm people. Go see it if you can!
ontopoftheworl d 02/28/2002
A great country, there's so much to see and do!
Rusty 01/27/2002
Gotta save my victriol for this culturally anemic, spiritually deficient, morally relative, squeamish, virulent anti-American traitorous NATO nation and washed up has-been in the face of modern world affairs. When will these hopeless wanna-be players realize that Jean Lafitte and Charles de Gaulle are in the past? Their esteemed haute couture pales in the face of good ol' fashioned AMERICAN steak, eggs and potatoes, whole milk, hamburgers, hot dogs slathered with ketchup. Putting ketchup on everything is the AMERICAN way---and, the ONLY way!!! The only thing that was worthy to be French was the French fry! A bunch of swarthy grape-stomping pansies with berets who cling to memories of their former North American "empire." What's left? A few departments? Oh, yeah, like I'm gonna go visit ST. PIERRE ET MIQUELON in my lifetime. Napoleon was actually Italian, dude. Whoa-HO! Gerard Depardieu---can you say "Academy Award?" And what kind of nonsense is it when you have French bread?!? Uh-uh---AMERICAN BREAD! Wonder is #1! Man, Paris is the city of "Light-up!" Paris is NOWHERE near the haute couture as good ol' fashioned American Upper Midwest suburbia! France is a silly nation bereft of decent language---who wants to spray saliva all over someone when they speak French? Absolutely unacceptable! They need to speak like in AMERICA, BAY-BEE!
ellajedlicka21 10/24/2001
They've always been an ally to the U.S. One of the great countries of this world.
e2bug 06/02/2001
You can save yourself a trip to France by looking at some postcards, then having a drunk janitor verbally abuse you for a couple hours.
ariscator 05/08/2001
One of the truly unique countries. The history of France is endless and unique. Some of the most wonderful leaders and philosophers gave to the world many useful and meaningful ideas. French language is the language of romance, French perfumes/colognes are the best out there, and french chocolate almost as good as ... Their music is sensual, movies are realistic, and women are hot(e.g. Leticia Costa).
bosox79 11/30/2000
Stay out of Paris and you can meet some really friendly people.
Munson 04/03/2000
France has it all. Paris is one of the most magnificent cities in the world and the French Riviera is gorgeous. Additionally, some of the greatest wines get their names from regions/cities in France. Plus, I didn't find the people as obnoxious as their stereotype suggests. Don't be surprised, however, if there are labor strikes while you are there. It is not at all unusual for the rail system or museums to be shut down due to dissatified striking workers.

chauvinism française! aghhh! no, thank you.

It is THE most beautiful countries I have seen -- from Paris to the small villages in the South. The language is romantic and the food is delicious; the hospitality is wonderful too. Of course, it always helps to speak French :)

Nothing could beat France. In this country you can find everything you need... Especially I recommend Bretagne.
