I signed up to be a distributor of Life's Abundance 2 yrs ago. I breed the Bernese Mountain Dog & Birman Cat. Prior I had tried many commercial brands trying to weigh out good quality with price although at the time I did not know how to read a label. About 5 yrs ago I found that on both Science Diet & Iams all of my Dogs & cats were throwing up daily, now I know why because commercial foods grind up euthanized pets & restaurant slop as an ingredient, I can prove this if you ask me to.

During the recalls I searched for foods I could trust & decided that it would be very beneficial to sell a product as well since there are so many major financial losses in breeding high quality dogs that I needed something to counter balance the losses. I was convinced the food was good so I let the company abuse me by forcing me to buy $300 in a product package of almost everything they sell, (this was a requirement) then I still had to buy my dog & cat food on top of that. Also in order to make this work I need the replicator website that I pay $10.98 per month for so here is my experience.

The cats did just fine on the transition & their coats did improve but I cheated because I also added a vitamin powder (granule) to the food because that specific supplement provided specific ingredients that flush out mercury from the vaccines. This is from a separate company altogether

The dogs were a very different story. The Food they were on was Royal Canin for large breed dogs which had an enzyme added into the food. The dogs feces were small & infrequent, cleanup was minimal. All major considerations when you have several dogs. I blended the two foods for transition into Life's Abundance & by the time they were fully on Life's Abundance the dogs were consuming 3X the amount food than before, feces was 3X larger & the clean up was 3X the amount going out for the trash, it was terrible & became a health hazard as I could not clean up messes fast enough.

I then transitioned them back into the Royal Canin for large breed dogs. I called the main reps on this matter as I was sure I had a solution & I wanted to share that large breed dogs require enzymes to assist with the break down of food and I wanted to see this improvement added, each of the reps never had these problems or at least never noticed these problems themselves so one rep became suspicious of me & thought I was a rep for Royal Canin, she actually accused me of that on our 3 way call. That was offensive because I was a distributor, I had specific problems & nobody took me seriously.

So then they referred me over to Dr Jane, I was very motivated & urged her to make these changes because I really wanted to sell the food but it was difficult to do so unless I was feeding it to my dogs & I won't feed it due to this one problem. I had searched for bulk enzyme powder so I can add it myself but could not find any. I then became concerned for the actual content of the food, a better quality food should consume less of, not more of. When dogs eat more food then it is a lesser quality. So I insisted on a factory walk through since their own video talks of these pet food secrets but I got an immediate "Oh no, you can't do that". I asked "why not?" then I was told they have "proprietary secrets". Well that's interesting because so do the commercial pet food companies have secrets by putting peoples dead pets in the food, It's actually the pet version of the Movie Soylent Green.

As I was persistent it was revealed to me that Trilogy (Life's Abundance) does not make the food. I might not have the email anymore telling me this but they go through a particular entity that makes the food then sells to anyone wanting to place their copyrighted label on it, I find that fascinating from an entrepreneurial point of view so when it is said that Dr Jane formulates the food may not be true at all & could be why nobody is interested in in my suggestion to actually reformulate the food because they may not have any control over that but is merely a business front & understandably so, every business has to look as professional as possible.
She could have at least pretended to take notes & say they would work on the problem but there seemed to be the air of unconcern.

I still don't care about the illusion, I just want the food to have enzymes added or create a food specifically for large breeds. Royal Canin was smart enough to do that & I wanted to push this trade practice along to the owners so I got in touch with the owner 3 months later & told him the same thing that I told Dr Jane. He then says, "I have never heard of this type of situation before" so I asked him "well did Dr Jane or the reps tell you about this when I called 3 months ago?"
He said "No". I said, "well there you go, your people are not telling you what is going on with your own business & that is why you are unaware".

When I listened to trilogy recorded phone conversations I found that there were other complaints about the dog food & since the reps supposedly have had no problems themselves & supposedly actually feed Life's Abundance to their pets always poo poo the complaints of dogs or cats throwing up on the food as being related to something else like lawn pesticides etc, & as I have seen I don't think they are documenting these complaints & I don't think anyone cares. The owner told me he does not make money on the food so after careful consideration I realized he makes a hefty sum off of the distributors who are forced to buy the product package but moreso the $10.98 per month from each distributor who uses the website.

If you charge $10.98 per month for replicator sites to say 100,000 distributors then income is $1,098,000 per month. That's very interesting assuming that Trilogy has 100,000 distributors, even if it were half that then I suppose someone could survive on half a million per month so why should he care if one pesky distributor is having problems with the food, I still feed it to my cats, he still gets my $10.95 month & most of my customers are very happy with the food, even their finicky cats like it, now I get a profit check from trilogy which fluctuates but last check was for $20 for the month so now my customers are paying my $10.95 per month so I am not so sore about that anymore, money talks. What will people do for money? I now wonder about the reps into this business up to their necks making a lot of money. What will they cover up to keep their income? I suppose just like any corporation they will cover up anything necessary to keep the company going. I just wanted one little thing of them that would increase their customer base but ya know, when you make a million bucks a month income why stress yourself out. If he took my suggestion based on that if he actually did have control over the factory he would double that to 2 mil but then that would put him in a much higher tax bracket & not be worth the trouble. All I wanted was a solution, that was 2 years ago & nobody has ever called to review the situation, I am still looking for an alternative to Royal Canin because I don't trust that there are not any ground up euthanized pets in my pet food.

So why don't I sell another dog food? My last search led me on a dead end as far as quality. One that is available for distributorship use Corn as their number one ingredient. That will kill my dogs by giving them intestinal torsion. Last check nothing compared ingredient wise with distributorship to Life's Abundance but then I really can't actually verify that since I can't hang out at the plant due to big secrets.

I am rating this food so poorly not because it's a terrible quality food, but because of the over-the-top marketing of it's MLM participants. At a guess, three quarters of the positive reviews for Life's Abundance foods were written by Life's Abundance MLM salespeople. It's disingenuous and misleading.

Life's Abundance is a SLIGHTLY above average food. It's not magical, it's not mana from heaven. It's formulation and ingredients are better than Science Diet, Iams/Eukanuba, and anything that Purina makes... but that really isn't saying much. LA's basic formula contains only two meats in the ingredients list, as the first and tenth ingredients. The carbohydrate ingredients easily overwhelm these minimal meats... not exactly ideal for our pet canine carnivores. Additionally, Life's Abundance uses the industry-standard beet pulp filler, a useless ingredient that is actually the cheap waste product from sugar manufacturing. They use "potato product" as a source of protein, rather than using more meat, and use insoluable forms of many basic vitamins and minerals. Is it BAD? No, not at all. But it's just barely GOOD... despite all the claims in reviews below.

Meowy, Wowie! Our cats have been on Lifes Abundance Cat Food for about 10 years. They love it. People say that its expensive but its not really when you consider the value for the money. It does not contain corn or wheat and it has never, ever been on a recall list. Look into it at

I think Life Abundance has been a blessing in me and my pets lives. One of my Labs had skin problems and was losing her coat - I had to find a healthy pet food. I thought I was buying the best out there until I found Life Abundance. Life Abundance changed my animal's life. Her hair has grown back and she NEVER snubs her food. The meat they use is chicken breast - I spoke to them and asked the company what was in their food and to my surprise they use chicken breast that is ground up with a little water-no fillers, by-products or artificial flavorings. They have veggies and fruits and so much more. Their food avoids the known allergens such as wheat, corn (which is just a cheap protein and filler), and soy. There are no by-products either so what you read is what you get. I could go on and on but everyday I look at my babies and and they are so happy to eat and looking so healthy. It is it is the only pet food I will ever buy.

#1 problem: $70 for a 40lb bag! I can get better nutrition for half the price. #2 problem: I agree with others, where's the meat? Dogs are natural carnivors and do not digest veggies that well if at all. As I read the ingredients, it just gets worse. Feeding a high quality food gives the dogs all the vitamins and nutrients they need. The fact that this company has to add them all in separately scares me. I run a pet sitting and dog walking service and reccomend high quality products to my customers, this will not be one of them.

The woman who formulates the food is accessible and I've even heard her tell people that their food is not right for every dog when people have had unusual requirements. THAT was impressive!

The shelter that I adopted my shiba inu mix from fed Eukanuba and recommended I do the same. I bought some, and my dog barely got near his bowl. Nearly all of food was still in his bowl at the end of the night. After doing some research I came across Life's Abundance and decided to give it a try. The first time I put some in his bowl he gobbled it up immediately. Now a year later he lets me know it's dinner time and jumps a foot in the air over and over until his bowl is filled. Then he looks up at me gratefully and devours it in seconds. A few weeks ago I adopted a chihuahua pug mix from the humane society. They sent along a bag of Science Diet because that's what they feed, and of course recommeded I introduce her to a new food gradually. I tried feeding her some of her Science Diet, but she had no interest at all. Then I got some Life's Abundance out and offered her some. She gobbled it right up, and that's what she's been eating since, with no digestive problems from the quick diet change. The ingredients are human grade, which I like. The Eukanuba package stresses that this is for pet use only. I dont like the idea of feeding my dogs a food that is not safe for me to eat if I wanted to. Life's Abundance makes no such statement. The food actually smells good, which dry dog food usually smells awful. Another plus is that it is delivered to my house, so that's one less thing I have to remember to buy at the store. The bottom line is my dogs love this food, and they're the ones who have to eat it.

My cat will turn her nose up at premium wet food...she ONLY will eat Life's Abundance dry. I have fed it to her for a year now. She rarely throws up....and she is a long haired cat!! 1/3 a cup a day, her weight is perfect. Bel is a ragdoll weighing in at 10lbs.

I have used this food since 2002. Wonderful. Never an problem. My dogs love it. Everyone that has offered it to their dogs find that their dogs will not eat their old food. The ingredients are all quality. There is only human grade ingredients, no chemicals, no by-products, or anything that is not good for the dogs. I read other reviews and someone criticized that there is grains. GOOD GRAINS, not inferior. Also someone commented that Healthypetnet also makes Flint River....not true. I contacted the company directly about this. The only foods that Healthypetnet makes is Lifes Abundance. If anyone has questions about the ingredients and why they use the ingredients that they do, listen to the audio provided. Dr. Jane Bicks will personally explain the ingredients and why she uses them. Or, contact the company directly they will be more than happy to answer your questions. They stand by their foods 100%. Yes some dogs may have medical situations....and people react differently to foods also (allergies), but you cannot condemn the food. Perhaps your dog should be on another food that is more compatible to his situations. But a normal dog without problems does not have any reason for health situations by eating the food. I know of a breed of dog that from eating the foods, it was too rich for them, and were having bowel issues. That doesn't mean there was something wrong with the food, it just means that that breed dog had issues.

My 7 month old Chihuahua loves LA, no problems at all and would recommend to anyone. Really hate to read some of these pure out stupid reviews. Who really cares if there marketing strategy is MLM. I am not a distributor for them, but I think the company and product is 5 stars hands down. I suggest before you knock any marketing strategy, you research it before hand. There are good and bad mlm company's. The real pyramid scheme is your job. So don't burn every mlm company out there because perhaps you failed with one. Thanks Trilogy and Dr. Jane for making a quality healthy food and giving others a chance to achieve financial freedom.

My dogs absolutely LOVE this food. I know there are a lot of good dog foods out there, but I really like the fact that the food I'm getting delivered right to my door is no more than six weeks old. My daughter also feeds her dog Life's Abundance and has noticed a huge improvement in his skin, and no longer has to take him to the vet for skin rashes and spend money on medications. I highly recommend this food to all dog lovers out there who want nothing but the best for their "Best Friend".

I have been using L.A cat food for almost 2 years and I love it! My cats have dramatically changed since then, a great change. Beautiful coats, no more vomiting hairballs. My almost 9 yr old is young , vibrant and full of energy! Its taken a few years, but L.A's pet food is now a hit with pet owners! Now the other brands are trying to copy them with keeping out corn and other fillers that animals cant digest! I try to tell everyone I meet that is a pet owner to watch the video and try it. Don't bother with Life's Abundance. One of my dog's had a serious reaction/allergy to the food which resulted in a serious ear infection costing expensive medical attention. Oh, and their the Satisfaction Guarantee will guarantee you nothing but dissatisfaction. My three dogs didn't the food that appealing, appetizing or basically any good. Bottom line: food costs too much, you pay for shipping each time and dogs didn't like the food. Your mileage may vary.

I posted over a year ago about Life Abundance Dog Food but could not remember the email address I had then so had to sign up again. There is no point in arguing with those that think they know more than vet specialists do but my dog had nothing but medical problems while she was on Life Abundance Dog Food which was for 2 years! She has not had anymore of those medical problems since I stopped her from eating Life Abundance over a year ago! I'm happy that it doesn't hurt all dogs and for sure Life Abundance is probably no worse than other commercial pet foods but when I did as the vet specialist suggested and took her off Life Abundance there has been NO more reoccurring medical problems like there was for the entire two years my dog was on this food.

And by the way one person just thought for sure they had the answer that it was antibiotics AND changing my dog's diet that helped. They were so wrong because we never gave our dog any antibiotics! This is clearly documented that our dog was never treated with antibiotics. It was JUST stopping the Life Abundance that our dog immediately started to improve and has not had ANYMORE of the medical problems she had while eating this. If changing our pet's diet had not helped then the specialist would had treated with antibiotics but the specialist wanted to try that first and when stopping Life Abundance stopped my dog's medical problems we did not need to treat her with antibiotics.

Again, I think it's great dogs that eat this dog food without any medical problems as well as all the other dogs that do well on other commercial foods but this dog food is definitely not the great dog food many make it out to be but neither is any of the other commercial dog foods, either.

If anyone else decides to feed homemade please make sure you research the human foods that should not be fed to pets as well as use a good pet vitamin to balance out their meals. We use Dr. Goodpet's.

Our three dogs all do better on Life's Abundance than anything we've ever put in their bowls. Great coats, no more hotspots on our Jack Russell, they love the food, the price is better than other premium dog foods and I simply trust our distributor and the company.

My dog wouldn't touch this food. The ingredients were appalling and he hated the taste of the kibble. It gave him diarrhea and it made his coat terribly dry. This food was too big for my small dog to be able to eat and didn't provide enough nutrients for my active dog.

Well my five month old Havanes puppy is on this as of yesterday. I've had such a hard time with researcing food, this had the most superior ingredients I've seen. The fact it is direct MLM does not bother me.

I have read many coments about not enough meat products, fish, and protein. It does have fish in it. The meat products are high end. Vegetables contain protein and are an excellent source. I am excited to try this. I will be ordering the snacks to try, it is very hard to find good snacks your pet loves.

Dungee, my puppy cleaned the bowl up immediately each time I have fed him. He loves the taste.

I'm also hoping this will help his coat. He scratches a lot and I'm worried about allergies. There are no fleas. We use a great natural shampoo. I'm hopeful this food will help with the allergy issue. FYI took some to my neighbors picky lab puppy, he LOVED it as well.

Explain to me how??? life's abundance and Flint River Ranch are by the same manufacturer. However, if you go to one of their many web pages, you will find that Life' abundance does a survey on different dog food brands, one of them being Flint River Ranch, It states in the beginning that both brands are excellent for your pet, however if you delve deeper into the pages where the comparison is,it states that Flint River Ranch has ingredients such as yellow ground corn, corn, corn gluten meal and corn germ meal which are all not good for our pets digestive system. First off how do you expect me to buy a brand of dog food if the products you put in other foods that you manufacture are bad for my pets, secondly why would you compare 2 of your own products and speak poorly of one??? That sure doesn't make me feel good about buying the other one!!!
I was actually thinking about buying this brand until I researched it, now, In my opinion I think They are full of it!!!

I have been using this food on my dogs for over 5 years now and they look so young. They do not look 8 years old. I would never switch food unless one day God forbid I lost my job. But if I had to switch, it seems to me that Blue Buffalo may be a good dog food at $39.99 for a 30 pound bag. Less expensive than Life's abundance. The only negative with Life's Abundance, I would say that this food being so high in quality, you will need to feed your dog less food. But not a bad negative huh?? A few months ago, I brought in a foster dog from a local shelter. The dog was a mess. Skin issues, smelly and truly disgisting looking. Of course after cleaning up the dog, he is eating Life's Abundance and is looking amazing and is so healthy too. It is really the best dog food on the market. I would never switch. My dogs are too much a part of my life for me not to give them the best.

No way a top 10 Dog food. The first ingredient is meat but then we see not to far some dried beet pulp and it is not a good filler and I won't feed m dogs that. Also manufacturer does not say fish product is free of ethoxyquin. Not enough meat to be in the top 10 so I think it should be dropped way down so it gets a 1.

I read the thread about Lifes Abundance being sold through a MLM.

Frankly the food is superior and has never, ever been on a recall list. The food is so good that breeders will guarantee the health of their puppies if the new owner keeps the dog on the food.

In fact, one of the past West Minster Dog Show winners is on the food. So bottom line, who cares if the food is sold through network marketing. It is a healthy superior food for dogs and cats. I would rather give my money to a superior food sold through MLM than a pet food store that has sold contaiminated food.

And, the worst scenario of all was the pet food contamination from well-known and supposedly expensive foods that contained contaminated corn and wheat that killed hundreds of our beloved pets. I would like to remind everyone that Lifes Abundance has never, ever been on a recall list. Lifes Abundance does not contain corn or wheat.  

Their Ingredients: Okay - let's look at the facts (and first 9 ingredients): Chicken Meal, Ground Brown Rice, Potato Product, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E), Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed), Brewers Dried Yeast, Natural Flavors, Flax Seed Meal, Egg Product,...ad naseum In the first 9 ingrediates, you have 1 (count 'em , 1!) meat ingredient. Then #3 is a potato product (huh? Like Potato Buds I used to have as a kid? Pringles? What?), # 5 Beet Pulp which is considered a questionable ingredient (Source: www.dogfoodanalysis.com). #4 is chicken fat, which is a bit too high on the ingredients list (Should be 5 or 6 or even further down). Egg product - umm, like Egg Beaters - what does this mean? As "Clara" would say: "Where the beef?" (Or chicken, or fish or anything else remotely resembling real meat?) Plus, they do not state that they use ethoxyquin-free products. They claim to be "holistic?" I do not see any evidence to support that claim. Their Marketing Strategy: Next: I went to the website to check these guys out. The scariest thing about this? It's a *@$%&$#! MLM!!! - You know - multi-level marketing company - remember Blue-Green Algae, Tupperware, and who can forget AMWAY~ (I know I'm shouting a bit; I'm just a bit passionate about this sh*t.) Now, I may be going out on a limb here, and I am a business owner, so I do understand the laws of profitability and such, but ***MLMs do not sell products - they sell MLMs!*** This company is not interested in your pet or mine. I have been using this food for both of my labs for well over 5 years. I will never switch to anything else. Food is fresh & healthy. My dogs look great at 8 years. I spend a great deal of time doing research on pet food and I always try to challenge myself with finding the best product on the market. This really is the best. I am happy wit hthe results. I just wish I can pick it up easily at a pet store. Shipping is not too expesive for me since I seem to live close to a food processing plant. : )

There is so much to this product.  There is a natural supplement line of healthy treats for dogs and cats, joint relief called Agility Supplement, Skin and Coat Formula, Cat and Dog Immune Support Systems.  Shampoo, Ear Cleaners, Soothing Mist which is an awesome product good for hot spots on dogs, good for people and horses too!  Canned cat food, all organic with a safe non toxic can.  Canned Dog Food soon to arrive...and that is just a brief description of all of the things this line has to offer.  We use all of the products with our rescue.  I have turned on even groomers and speciality pet shops to this product and they can't keep it in stock!  All of it is natural without harsh chemicals.

The absolute the best in my opinion.  My dog has allergies and this has quelled that problem.  My dog loves the food so much we have to keep the bag put away so she can't see it, otherwise she begs constantly for more.  Her coat is shiny and lush and her skin looks the best ever.  I still feed some healthy people food but this is definately the best commercial food available.

I purchased this food through www.petfoodwithlove.com and my dogs LOVE it! They have been on it for about 6 months and I've seen a big difference in a healthier coat and more energy. I have been using Life's Abundance since 2002. My senior dog selected it over 12 other holistic foods. I believe it helped him tremendously. I started my American Eskimo puppy on it in 2003. She won her Championship title in short order due to her vitality, gorgeous coat and great genes! I have recommended it to my friends who are breeders. The bitches do extremely well throughout their pregnancy. Their litters are healthy. The show judges, veterinarians and pet owners all take notice of a Life's Abundance dog. It has been very comforting to know that I can speak with the formulator Dr. Jane Bick's about why she uses certain ingredients and how to use her products successfully. This company uses terminology that is required by the food regulatory agencies even though terms such as product does not sound as good to the general public as whole egg or potato does. This company has integrity. They put the health of our pets before their wealth. A portion of the profit goes to Dr. Jane Bick's Foundation.

My new pomeranian now is 7 months old and she did great on this food, however, was having a hard time eliminating herself and not being able to do her business very easlily. we stopped due to the fact that although it didn't take much food, and it lasted about 5 months maybe a little less, the I was paying more than half of what it cost for the food in shipping and handling. after much research, she has been switched to Innova, and LOVES it! her stools are much easier for her to get out and she loves the food and her coat is outstanding. absolutely beautiful, her energy level hasnt dropped still walk 2 miles a day and she is doing great. Just for some thought. I am very impressed with the Innova. but if you dont mind the shipping, and she can eliminate herself without a struggle, hey stick with it.

I have been feeding my 2 dogs and 3 cats Life's Abundance for 3 years now and they are all doing amazing. My dogs coats get comments by people at the dog park about how good they look. My 13 year old cat thinks he is a kitten. I think this is because of the food. I even signed up to be a distributor! 5 stars for sure!

I adopted two dogs within the past 1 1/2 years and both are on Life's Abundance. One of my dogs came to me with a very sensitive stomach therefore I was hesitant to change his food. Well, I am glad I did! This is what I can tell you from my personal experience with Life's Abundance for the past 18 months or so.

1. All dogs love the taste. Both my dogs finish off the bowl with wagging tails. I've dogsat for a number of relatives and their dogs loved the food, too! So much that my relatives have switched over to Life's Abundance. I even think it smells great when I open the bag.

2. Both of my dogs have a remarkably shiny coat and are lean and muscular. Every time I bring them to the dogpark, people always comment on how they look so healthy and shiny!

3. Energy - lots of it! This food provides great nutrition to fuel your dog with lots of vitality! That's probably why my dogs are so lean...

4. Mental stability - I am a firm believer in that good nutrition can be the answer to behavioral problems with dogs (and kids, lol!) Both of my dogs are alert, focused, and well, they just seem very centered and happy. I've noticed that by feeding my Aunt's dog Life's Abundance for several weeks that she did not seem as "fidgity." Her behavior definitely improved while on this food.

5. Autoship. I never have to go to the store to buy dogfood. It arrives right on time every 26 days as per my specifications. Can it get any better? I can't imagine lugging a 40 lb bag into my house every month as now I am spoiled.

I've had a great experience with Life's Abundance so far. My only regret is that I didn't find this food sooner for my past dog who was with me for fifteen wonderful years. Maybe I could have had his company a little longer...

With all of the big pet food companies using questionable ingredients it's good to know that there is a company that only uses their own quality ingredients with no recall issues. They make small batches so the food doesn't sit in a warehouse or truck for months on end like most of the big brand names.

As for the guy who didn't like their marketing I say it's the best way to sell any high quality product. Word of mouth marketing has always been the best. Pretty much every MLM product is better than what you can get in stores. That's why they use this type of marketing. The average store employee would never take the time to learn how to sell this stuff.

There are too many differences between the cheap products that you can get in stores and the higher quality products that require more product knowledge to sell. And they end up costing you LESS not more if you take a minute to look past the initial cost. You typically feed your pet less of ultra premium pet foods and you have lower Vet bills!

Nice ingredients. Dog won't eat it.

For all the pets that do good on Life Abundance that is great but the entire time my young Sheltie was on Life Abundance Dry Dog Food for around a year and a half she had Kidney problems with her being on NO other dog food! She had struvites, high pH, and other abnormal Urinalysis! I know they say the way they do the grape seed extract is ok but I finally decided since grapes can be toxic to some dogs that a grape is a grape so I would no longer take the chance and AFTER I stopped feeding Life Abundance my dog has normal Urinalysis now for the first time! My vets also agreed a grape is a grape and thinks it was a "great idea" changing dog foods! My dog also had Bacteria Overgrowth that my vet said the Life Abundance also could had altered my dog's intestinal tract. This lead me to research alot about ingredients in pet foods and many pet foods have questionable ingredients in them or too much carbs, some even use synthetics vitamins from other countries! There is too many safe dog food ingredients that can be used without pet companies using questionable ingredients in their foods. While some dogs do well on commercial dog foods not all do! I have found in my research that even vet nutritionists will disagree on what's the best pet food and what ingredients can be harmful! If I can find a all natural, no synthetics Vitamins that does not use any ingredients outside the US and find a low carb dog recipe I will be doing homemade! Make sure to check out The Animal Poison Control Website for a list of foods to not give your pets as well as research the ingredients in your pet foods and then you can atleast be aware of any questionable ingredients even if you choose to continue feeding your pets the same pet foods. If you inquire to a pet food company where they get all their ingredients from even if they say the United States I have learned that might not mean the vitamins in their pet foods also comes from the United States! I always thought when I asked where they got their ingredients from that would include vitamins but when I thought to ask another pet food company if they get all their vitamins from the United States they said, "no" and this was after they had answered "yes" to the question they get all their ingredients from the United States. Again for those that their dogs do well on life Abundance that's great but not all dogs do! Also, my dog had no symthoms of Bacteria Overgrowth. It just happened to show up on tests we had done.

I have only been using this food for about 6 weeks but I wanted to give you my thoughts to date. I lost a dog a couple of years ago due to what I believe was bad food so since then I've been trying to be very careful. Like everyone else I love my dogs and cat - they are a part of my family and I want to do what's best for them. At the same time - I'm too busy to cook for myself let alone my pets. I have tried different brands some expensive some cheap - always being careful with the switch but have never found anything that they liked and now with the wheat, rice, and corn scares it's even harder to find something I can trust. While searching on the internet I found Life's Abundance and thought what the heck... so here we are. After 6 weeks my dogs and cat are loving the food! Within minutes of me putting their bowls down they are empty... their energy levels are up and no signs of trouble. I did have some trouble with the vitamins - both dogs had a bit of an allergic reaction (chewing at their paws and bodies). At first I thought it was the food but when I discontinued the vitamins they were back to their old selves again. After reading some of the earlier reviews I wonder if this was the case with those dogs too because the vitamins came as a package deal. Not wanting to overwhelm my dogs I waited until after I switched the food to start giving them the vitamins - this is how I deducted that it was not the food. I will post a follow up at 12 weeks... so far so good.

We love it! When the pet food recall news first came out, we had a peace of mind because we knew that Life's Abundance doesn't use those cheap filler ingredients. Our four little dogs love eating it. It really was one of the best decisions we've ever made for our dogs. Highly recommend it!

This food is great! My Bichon Frise can't get enough of it! The ingredients in it are fabulous and are very healthy for my little guy can't get enough. I feel comfortable feeding this to my puppy.

The menadione dimethylprimidinol sulfate is no longer in Life's Abundance. There are still marketing materials that have it listed. awesome pet food....been feeding it to my Aussie shepherd since 12 weeks old...every pet professional that has seen him has ask about his food....groomer ,vet & trainer. He maintains a heathy weight of 61 lbs. he eats 2 cups a day. A 40# bag last for 70 days. this food is healthy and efficent.

watch out with the menadione dimethylprimidinol sulfate for your dogs.

If you would look closer at the ingredient list, you will find something called menadione dimethylprimidinol sulfate (a.k.a. vitamin K supplement). Sounds good, right? NOT. Do your research people and you will find that this "supplement" was baned in Europe food products for good reasons and that you are feeding it to your pets. No matter what Life's Abundance or Blue Buffalo claim, this food is NOT healthy.

I love the food, it has stopped my Lhasa's licking of paws and allergy problems. But I have noticed my other Lhasa has started with tear staining. Anyone else have a problem with this? What did you do about it??

I've had excellent results with this food. My vet thought I had a different dog after three months on the food (that's how big a difference it made).
