OK, his murder was a terrible tragedy and clearly he was a major influence on rock guitar playing. Just a shame he spawned a whole raft of witless buffoons with 7 string guitars playing identikit heavy metal.

This guy was just about the best heavy metal guitarist around.Unfortunately,Pantera is defunct and Dimebag was killed onstage by some jackass who should rot in jail and end up a prison wife.

What a tragic and shocking, untimely death, but as a rock or metal guitarist, he was an emulator, not an innovator. Dimebag was a 'dime a dozen' (pun intended!).
