I've come to like it despite initially disliking it.

The change was due to meeting someone who uses the feature a lot, and once I started using it found I liked it.

If you want to send someone a message, email them. Text messages cost extra, and they're too hard to type on that dinky little keypad. I get angry every time I get a text message. I'm already paying for my minutes, just call me instead of sending me a text message that I'll have to pay extra for.

Update: forget what I say below. Texting is so much better than talking. You get your point across without actually having to talk to somebody. It's kind of like the Internet like that.

And I love the Internet.

**The kids love this. I just can't see myself typing with my thumbs, though. Sounds like a pain in the butt.

I know that I'm in the minority, but I really don't care for text messaging. I'm not willing to pay extra on my plan for unlimited text messages, so I don't use the feature for fear of getting charged extra.

Text messages save wasted call times. If you only have one thing to say or even tell someone text messages help a great deal and their good for keeping in touch with people over-seas if you want to save money on phonecalls.

Is it me, or does it not make sense to hit like 50 buttons just to send a note like "Where are you?" (Er, actually, it'll probably be abbreviated to something more like "Whr RU @?"). It'd take less time to just call 'em.

It's got its applications, but they're few and far between.

TM's are waaaay underrated. When it's loud at the bar, when you're in a boring meeting at work, or when you don't really feel like talking to someone... why waste your minutes?
