Keeping the wheels turning helps you burn the calories you eat, and keeps your joints moving smoothly (when done properly). Proper technique is important to any exercise routine.

Yes, this maintains both the body and mind. If only there were a way to get more people to do it regularly.

I think exercising is great, but a person should check with their doctor beforehand to find out whether they can withstand that kind of activity.

One of the most important aspects of maintaining optimum health is an active lifestyle. You don't have to join a gym or spend hours on a stationary bicycle-just find something you enjoy like hiking, swimming, handball or even yard work. The important thing is to keep moving and elevate your heart rate for at least 20 minutes.Even the simple act of taking a daily walk can help you to get and stay in shape.Of course,to achieve athletic excellence or impressive muscles you have to work much harder-but the point is that almost anyone,at any age can benefit by making some simple changes.

I can speak from some experience on this one. Throughout my early childhood and up until my freshman year of high school; I was highly active. I played softball, baseball, basketball, and soccer in my off time. I also ran track in middle school, participated in cheerleading for 3 years, and exercised daily. So, I went from playing all of those sports, walking at least a 5 miles a day, and doing: 100 push-ups, 200 sit-ups, 500 jump-in-jacks a day; to doing nothing more than my schoolwork. After a year or so of not exercising, I started having trouble with my asthma. I've also been diagnosed with arthritis and with plantar fascilitis. I have to get back into the swing of things before all of this gets worse. I'm only 19 years old and have several conditions that usually only affect the joints and muscles of middle-aged men and women. I realize now that I shouldn't have taken the best of my youth for granted. Now I have to start all over and only pray that I can get back to the lifestyle that I had before my academic years took over all of my time.

It ain't no secret, folks. It helps burn fat and reduce your risk of nasty diseases such as diabetes and cancer. Plus, it also helps regulate your blood sugar.

I know that my threshhold for good abs is running 30 miles a week. Sadly, I haven't logged that kind of trash in about three years. Still, I manage to throw some weights around and my recent flyer drops for my satellite work keep me walking around alot, so I guess I'm not doing too bad.

There is nothing better for a person's health then enough regular exercise. Eat and drink what you want, and if you work out every day you will be alright.

Very wise comments to read here. There are so many different types of exercise. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who could not name at least one type they are interested in. Loads of equipment on the market as well. Personally, I enjoy walking and do every single day. I once had a friend who told me he didn't get enough exercise. He said he was thinking about joining a gym. Nothing wrong with gyms, I told him, but, all he had to do is stop footing the bill for the grass to be kept cut. He could save himself the money on the grass and the gym and benefit from the exercise as well.

The single most important pro-active measure one can take to benefit your health. Regular exercise helps regualate sleep patterns too.
